Hi Shannon, I’ve heard of the 12 Days Cast-On, but I already have too many WIPs at the moment, haha! I really enjoy your podcast-it’s both informative and relaxing, with a fun vibe!
Good morning! Crochet is only hard On my hands with the really big hooks. I keep different projects going with various size hooks so I’m not doing exactly the same movements. I just ordered my yarn for the Berrocco mystery make along blanket and am eager to get going Purl Together is doing a baby step beginner tutorial for it so fingers crossed😊
That is a smart way to avoid hand strain. I love how a mystery make-along feels so exciting. I’ve signed up as I love to read the patterns, I may even make a square or two.
Happy Friday. Your daughter is not only so cute but so lucky to have a mom that makes her beautiful things. So is your hubby! Finish that sweater for him. 😅
Hi Shannon! Love hearing you talk about yarn and your hubby. My hubby is quite similar in that he loves it when I acquire more yarn and he also wants EVERYTHING I make. Doesn't matter if it is a hat, blanket or amigurumi. So much fun to watch him explain why he needs the doll I just completed. LOL!
It would be amazing to see you do a different sock pattern every month. That would make your year goal. And see which ones you love to make. Toe cover Thursday. 😂😂😂❤❤❤
Good morning. I had not heard of the cast on 12. That would be overwhelming to me. I feel like I'm giving 2025 a head start. 😂 I am behind 2 dish clothes from Wednesday Wipeout. Plus, I'm trying to make a hat for my son-in-law's coworker. Our temps rarely stay below 50s and our highs will be in the 40s all week. He's been asking for a bulky camo hat. I having found that yarn so I'm going double stranded. I'm also keeping my busy granddaughter so I have full 20 second bursts to craft in. 😂 she'll be here all weekend while Mom and Dad get rooms ready for the new baby.
Hello Shannon, I am doing a bath suit for my friend. My next project is a gorgeous dress that I really love. I promise myself that after finishing a project I will start another.
Hi Shannon! I am working on 2 baby blankets in the box stitch and once I finish those, I will be starting on a Highland Cow, a Unicorn, and then a Dinosaur to finish this order. After that then I can work on whatever I want after that. I just got a small order of mill ends in from Premier so I might be starting on another afghan while our winter storm hits us this weekend. Stay safe and Happy New Year!
My first week in January was not very exciting, I did some Brioche knitting and finished a cowl. BUT, I also had some "bad" things happen to me. I have mentioned before that we relocated from Edmonds (Seattle area) to Colville (near the Canadian border, but still in WA). While packing, the crown of my one front tooth came loose. I had it "fixed" but the dentist said it was temporary as more work is needed before it could be attached permanently again. Well, it lasted a week before it came loose again. Immediately upon arriving in Colville, I searched for a dentist. They took X-rays of the root that was left and unfortunately it was not good. So my first week of January ended in losing my one front tooth - they extracted the root). I asked Christmas father for a tooth, but he must have lost my note ...
Have you thought about the compression gloves to maybe help your hands feel better while you are crafting? It might be worth checking out. You could make your 2nd cowl the same size if you work in some of your pickle jar minis. My whole cowl is using the pickle jar minis. I threw in 17 in case I run short of on repeat or two while working on it. Then you could make the full size cowl. I agree crafting should make you happy. Have a great day.
You could follow the stitch pattern and make a hat to match with the leftovers because towards the crown you would not need as much of each color. Have you tried ergonomic hooks or foam grips for you aluminum hooks yet to aleviate some of the strain on your wrists? I had to start using some of them about 3 years ago when carpal tunnel symptoms started. Like you I learned with the traditional aluminum hooks at a young age and finally had to admit I needed to adjust my grip and give my hands a break after a few hours.
I like the matching hat idea, two projects in one kit makes it so much more attractive price wise. I’ve not used the ergonomic hooks yet. I’ve got a couple in the smaller sizes. As a pencil grip crocheter those are not my favorite hooks. I’d have to change my grip to see if it helps
On my Boho sweater like yours, I'm doing short sleeves. Maybe you can do short sleeves so they aren't so daunting and things consuming. But it knits up so fast they won't take a ton of time I think.
Short sleeves would be a nice change of pace, I have some very long projects that need to go (hubby’s sweater 🤭) Of course I need to find the bag I put my boho sweater in. Did you see JoAnn restocked RAVE yarn?
Wow, congratulations. You know, come to think of it, you could have started 12 projects New Year’s Day and not get into trouble at all. You have a market to keep stocked
Pls take care of yourself and your wrists. Repetitive motion injuries are a real thing. BTW, compression gloves might help. I found a pair that has a Velcro wrap around the wrist too.
Hi Shannon, so Cute your hubby is giving you hints that he really wants his new sweater. 🧶🫂
I'm not sure how he's hinting, but I'm getting the message 😂

It is so nice to hear you enjoy the podcast! It’s all me and my yarny fun all the time. You can tell the days I’m really excited, my talk speeds up

😂 on your husband's sweater and his reaction. So cute that he is so excited and anxious to have his sweater.
I can't wait to share the finished sweater with you and everyone else so I can start another one.
Happy Friday. Your daughter is not only so cute but so lucky to have a mom that makes her beautiful things. So is your hubby! Finish that sweater for him. 😅
I'm going to try and get that sweater finished before it gets too cold! I mean we are in Colorado and another cold front is coming

It is so fun to share your passion with your hubby. It makes everything worthwhile to me.
It would be amazing to see you do a different sock pattern every month. That would make your year goal. And see which ones you love to make. Toe cover Thursday. 😂😂😂❤❤❤
I love it! #ToTheToes sounds like a fun series. I do need to make some socks and am looking to expand the catalog a bit.
Shannon!!! Hi, I love your shirt!!!!!! Great time here with you!
Thank you, it’s one of my favorites! Thrift store finds can be amazing
Such a pretty top you're wearing 😊
Thanks! It is one of my favorites, thrift store for the sun
I keep looking at the calendar and thinking, "It's only the..." I swear it's been a week since New Years. LOL
It feels that way doesn’t it

Oh, your craft time is precious with a busy grandchild!
There is a reason I didn’t join in on the washcloths, something in my schedule had to give
Hello Shannon, I am doing a bath suit for my friend. My next project is a gorgeous dress that I really love. I promise myself that after finishing a project I will start another.
That’s a great promise to make, if you finish that dress, I bet you have lots of ideas for the next one! 💕

I hope your winter storm passes quickly and safely.
With your list you could have participated in the starting 12 things on New Years Day.
Just stumbled into the Berrocco year long Mystery blanket MAL I think I’ll do it!
I’m going to sign up for it, I love reading the patterns, we’ll see if I do it though
Looks like a sampler with a wide range of stitches and patterns including colorwork. Great tutorial👍🏼
Carpal Tunnel issues are the worst! We don’t want anything to slow us down, but better to slow down than risk a broader injury.
Splint it for a while
I’ve done that in the past. Thank you for the reminder
Yep, I’ll knit more and crochet when I can
Love the Berrocco Pima cotton, that's all I've tried of that brand so far.
I really like the Berroco line. I’ve paid full price for it many times.
Happy Friday!
It is and I’ve got weekend plans I’m looking forward to

I am so sorry Cecilia, that doesn’t sound fun at all.
The brioche cowl sounds amazing though
I am so ADHD that I would love to start 12 things in one day. My problem is finishing projects. I do have lots of baby projects to do!
I’m in the baby making train too. Lots of really cute things to try
Hubby bought me a Prym interchangeable knitting needle set for Christmas.... guess I'm gonna have to cast on some more socks lol
That is so exciting, it’s wonderful having the right tools to make anything you want
I'm embarrassed to admit it took me a good 3 minutes to work out the tackle it Tuesday acronym 😂😂😂
I have to admit it was brought up to me too 🤭

You know that’s a good idea mixing in some of the other yarns I’ve got. I’m enjoying my cowl so far. Week 2, two colors used, 3 with the fade in.
You could follow the stitch pattern and make a hat to match with the leftovers because towards the crown you would not need as much of each color. Well, I'm on my way... 9:43 am and I've started two new projects!

That’s a good idea, I know I’ve got one around here somewhere
Good morning
Good morning, I hope your day is amazing
How about Tackle Them Tuesday. That's a better acronym 🫡
Triple T. Triple threat. That’s not bad either
