Nice campground review. Sites are good sized and it has nice amenities. Great drone footage. Cool that it is so close to the attractions. Thanks for sharing, Barrett.
Truthfully we avoid the whole area usually just because of the tourism. This is a great compromise though, since it's not in the middle of the all the hustle and bustle.
Everybody and their brother will be checking it out! 😉 We drove through there a few years ago and there didn’t seem to be a lot of level sites. But you’re right - it looks great.
Look at all that space! Nice campground. I love Pigeon Forge. Hopefully one day i'll be able to upgrade to an RV. I'll be sure to check it out if i ever do.
We were there just previously to you mailing this video. We were on site 42. It is small but I was able to fit my 42’ fifth wheel on it. No extra room though. Was last site when I called and reserved. Love this park. And yes tight driving coming from Townsend. Great review
I like that there is some space in between sites. Lots of pretty trees! The views look amazing! Looks and sounds like a great place. Definitely not one of the parking lot parks! Thanks for sharing instead of keeping it to yourself! 😆😀
We stayed at Tail Water campground below Lake Douglas, nice campground and had fun photographing the birds. All the towns had to many people in early April.
@@GimpyCamper .just to clarify that was Tail water on Douglas lake.. I'd never heard of this CG you reviewed.. We stayed at "up the Creek CG" 2 different years and really liked their large sites too but with less amenities.
Wow, this is a very nice campground and very spacious sites! We agree that a lot of people just pass it by because of the trailer storage up front that is seen from the road! Thanks for sharing! ~ Shion and Matthew
I have a few things you either don't know or forgot to tell. In Townsend the price is about $90/night so this place is a GREAT deal. You are close to Lyon Springs entrance to GSMNP. You enter next to Metcalf Bottoms picnic area. Kind of the halfway point between Cades Cove and Elkmont so a great way to enter the park. You wouldn't want to enter GSMNP on that road with a camper. You undersold how bad the hairpin turns are coming from Townsend. The first hairpin turn, I saw ground out a flatbed semi so it was stuck.
Yes it is a great deal. I looked at going to the Ridge because it looked nice too but I wasn't paying $180 for 3 nights. Ye, you have some good points.
This looks like an amazing campground. The last time we were camping in the area I actually stayed in townsend. Spent a lot of time in the mountain and didn't want to fight the traffic. LOL thanks for sharing. Lynn and Danny
@@GimpyCamper wow that could really add up. We are preparing to be able to boondock 100% of the time so we can save on that bill. It's a struggle so we figured that the expense would be now while we are working so when we leave full time, we can save.
Honeysuckle Meadows RV Park looks amazing. It does look like it has some major space for each site. They are huge! Great pool and pond. The bathroom are amazing. The drone footage was good. I'm at a campground now, that I think has the best wifi too. Now, we've got two that are amazing. We try and stay around $30 a night too, but sometimes we pay more so that's not bad. Yeah, I can see how that would through you off cause it does look like the campers are right next to each other. It's good to know which ones to ask for and which ones to avoid. Thanks.
UNBELIEVABLE! ...... I WOULDN'T have believed it if I didn't see it with your own eyes. It is your video., it is with your eyes that we be seein' it. But since you done showed it to us, well dangnabit, I do believe. All that space between campers! If thoze guys at Honeysuckle Meadows Campground can do it and still make a buck, then others can too. But from my experience, the others want to jam em in so tight you can hear your neighbors next over with the bacon spatterin' in the fryin' pan at 6:30 in the mornin'. Well, dumgoneit, I sure do wish we could find the likes of that camp up here in the North East. I'll be headin' to the shore, Salisbury Beach State Park right soon to get a whiff of the ocean air and salt spray hittin' my face when tides comin' in off the Atlantic. Thanx for your vid.
I am headed down to that area next summer on an extended trip. I need a campground that also has cabins since my daughter and son in law don't have a camper. This place might fit the bill. Nice review.
Hey Barrett, Did you see the new 10-ton 5.5 inches Bottle Jack from from Pro-Lift? It fits our larger Bj Buddy™, I bet it would work on your camper even with a flat!
@@GimpyCamper Heres a link and our Big One fits any axle up to 4 inches so its more universal. We have a ton instock right now and I think Shelborn Rv has them in stock as well!
That’s how we feel about recommending great campgrounds, not sure we want to tell everybody and ruin it for ourselves in the future hahaha Look great though!!
This is the only place we will camp in the Smokies! They do have bears that come into the campground, ask the full timers! Many great drives close by, cut off to Metcalf Bottoms, and best restaurant PawPaw's Catfish Kitchen close by.
@Gimpy Camper that's my camper, that's when I was there. What's the odds of that lol. Your review was spot on, it's a great quite and spacious campground. We tried to book it for this April but they were all booked up, so we booked at up the creek campground instead.
@@toddoconnell8470 you are actually the second person that has seen their rig on the videos without seeing my signs and following to see if it just ends up that way
@Gimpy Camper well that was just the third time taking are camper out. We brought it at the end of the 2020 season, it's are first camper. Just subscribe to your channel, we'll be on the lookout from now on
There is no public restroom/shower building here. You do have full hookups and must use your own bathroom. If your unit does not have it's won bathroom, this place is not for you.
Very nice 👍 good sharing have a good day stay connected dear friend greetings from Pakistan
Very nice campground. Very roomy spots. Nice aerial shots. Always important to point out the negatives. 👍#46
It was a great place for sure!

@@GimpyCamper Great place..Just be mindful of the pine sap at several sites dropping onto your rig , roofs and glass.

Just booked. Thanks for the recommendation!
Glad it helped. This is still our #1 recommendation for the area

Now see, this is a good rv park!! I never understood the parking lot concept. This is nice.
Yes and that's what most of the places in this area are. I found another decent one but put the brakes on when 3 nights was $280

Good plan. Problem is you have to go out west for most of those boondocking areas

hardly ever hear of someplace that doesnt have online reservations anymore, looks like a great park
One of the very few negatives but overall a great place
You've made a subscriber out of me. 🥾 Ive been on your tube all day long. You e made it hard for me to choose a camp in the Smokies.

I’m wondering about the pond for fishing. Is this pond stocked? I love to fish for bass, so wondering if there is some bass in there.
