Your commentary brings the deceased's lives into focus beautifully. For a moment or two they become real in our minds. For that moment we are able to acknowledge them as people who lived and loved , which is very moving. Thank you, Lamont.

That's a real solid thing you do putting the number to crime stoppers and the PD and encouraging people to speak up. Some would just tell the story and keep it moving

Omg, Una and Leo Holland, those are my Great Aunt (my Godmother) and Uncle on my Mom's side. Sad story, their only daughter Patricia was murdered by her husband. When we were little, we were told to never talk about or ask about this. Patricia was beautiful. They were good people. I was 1 year old at the time this occurred now, I am almost 74 (in2024). I now know the story. Thank you Lamont.

Hello Lamont.I hope all is well.I was thinking you were going to say they caught the murderers. So sad.You didn't give their ages thank you! Not having that info makes them harder to find as it should be. You are just always so caring and protective. The 9yr.old will never forget can only hope that scene is dark in his mind and people leave it that way. That poor child has endured enough.Watching it,trying to help his siblings, and having to be the one to run for help. Then I'm sure having to answer questions. What an amazing little boy.

My grandfather knew John Dillenger when he was young. They lived around Brazil Indiana. My grandfather told the story of Dillenger family went to Chicago to identify his body. First they went in and came out. Said it wasn't him. They had a little talk and said they needed to look again. Came out and said yes it was him
My grandfather said he talked to one of John's cousins. His cousin told my grandfather that John Dillenger went to his own funeral. Some family members tried to have his body exhumed for a DNA earlier this year. But it got denied. I don't know what happened after that.

Hi Lamont, I appreciate following your blogs and learning about history and people's lives. My late mother, aunts and grandmother regularly visited cemeteries with me in tow and could provide background information on many people who were interred there. I wish to share a most fascinating legend about a grave in Colon cemetery in Vedado, Havana, Cuba named La Milagrosa. In 1901 this pregnant wife suffered preeclampsia and had a stroke. Doctors tried to deliver the baby to save the mother but the baby didn't survive. Doctors could not find a pulse and presumed the mother had passed away. Mother and baby were placed together for burial in a wood casket above ground and then in a concrete vault with the baby be by placed between mother's lower legs. Years later the coffin was opened and astonishingly the baby was cradled in the mother's arms near her heart. This grave is the most often visited by women praying for pregnancy and healthy babies or

Big Earl had what seems to be refered to as a B.O.B. club(bring your own bottle)in FLA they have these type of clubs at strip joints.the bartender takes possesion of your bottle and serves you while still charging you the same price that other bars would charge.its saves the establishment from having to purchase a liquor license.
