Share knowledge of Quran and hadith with our beloved mother is one of the best thing for me, the story of Rasulullah pbuh sat crying so much till his beard and cloth wet at his mother grave at his age of 50 really brought tears to my eyes really emotional when you could imagine Rasulullah pbuh saw his companion share the good news with his mother while he cant.. Rasulullah really miss his mother and every good thing happened in his life will make him remember more of his mother...(sry bad english).

Very recently I've started watching your videos and really liking these. Honestly I like your Mom's thought process, her intellect, honesty and approach towards life. Though she isn't Muslim but her attitude towards life is so correct that she seems to me more muslim than most of us who are born muslim.
Your Mom's logic about mortgage for house purchase is very logical and in my opinion it doesn't fall in category of Interest which is Haram. You may like to consult Mr Javed Ghamdi on the issue of defining what actual Interest (sood) is.

Your mum is absolutely right. Live within your means. Don’t buy what you can’t afford. Consider should things change, can you still afford if your salary dropped for whatever reason. Don’t buy the mansion if you can’t afford the garden hut! My Irish mum taught us to be frugal, your mum sounds similar ❤.

11:20 I empathize with your mum's sentiments about getting a loan for purchasing a home. Even among Muslims, especially those who have an influence of the West / other cultures, there are many who may consider this as negligible, not realizing that its a major sin in Islam and also a root of many evils. I'm truly happy that you're steadfast in the way of Allah, and I pray that He fulfills your wish about owning a house / your dream car through halal means very soon - aameen. At one point, I too was kind of under pressure and almost went for a loan, and then backed out after all the process was nearly completed - got criticized / mocked at for it, but not long after that, Allah (swt) blessed me in ways I didn't expect. And alhamdulillah, soon enough I was able to accomplish more than what I ought to do with the loan, in a short span of time.
I also want to emphasize a part of the verse regarding forbidden things to consume, where Allah (swt) has made it clear that those who consume forbidden food under forced / survival conditions where there's no other option and they don't have an inclination towards sinning, it can be forgiven for them. I think the same goes for taking loan in an emergency situation, for instance, there's an emergency healthcare requirement for your family member and you have no means other than taking a loan on interest.

Great you are showing you mom new thing! She is so kind and understanding as well! Also there are halal mortgages! They are a bit more expensive than normal mortgage but it is easier than buying by the house outright!
At the beginning it is a bit tougher… but as time goes on u do have stability & no interest… where as with mortgages usually when u buy it it’s the easiest but after as time goes on u struggle down the road because of unpredictable interest.
Do look into it. I know here in Canada there are some halal mortgage so hopefully I have some available & specially down the road hopefully it’ll be more accessible!
