    Have this and used it for quite a while now. Love it. Mine start hatching in maybe 12 hours, much less then 24. Love having them on hand. I use tank water in mine. You can place the newly hatched shrimp in a container and add some Spirulina leave them in there for a few hours and then feed to the fish this way the shrimps belly is full of the Spirulina! Even more nutritious for your fish and coral’s.

    I love this hatchery. The egg shells stay in the outermost ring. I set it on a seedling mat to keep it warm. Light over the hole. It’s fast and so easy.

    I have that! It’s awsome. You need to have a high enough room temp though

    Love my disk! Before harvesting I place a high intensity lamp over the cup for about an hour or so which draws more shrimp. Great product for small daily batches. Just make sure you set it up where you want it before adding eggs or you'll unavoidably slop them into the cup.

    I do use this system with a desk lamp to feed my clown killis (and treats for my danios). Its an amazing little system to keep your water cleaner but its best for just hobbyists because it cant support huge amounts of hatches in a large fry feeding setup.

      I agree, works great for single or a couple tanks. I plan on setting up a larger system in my new fish room.

    Never had a small enough fish room to warrant for a disk...Always had to hatch baby brine in either a tank or in large gallon jugs.

      Sounds like you have quite the fish room!

    Should you turn off any power heads or overhead filters when you put them in the fish tank

      Person preference. I personally do not as I will most likely forget to turn them back on.

    Can you use any brine eggs to hatch with artemia?

    What air temperature do you keep your fish room at?

    • @WeldonTanks
      @WeldonTanks  4 роки тому +1

      I still need to make the full video on that. It stays between 75-80
      Kind of a large swing but with the space being smaller the heat from the dehumidifier does the job.

      It is the mesh that allows you to strain the brine shrimp

    • @messybunonabudget8773
      @messybunonabudget8773 3 роки тому +1

      @@WeldonTanks The original commenter was making a joke. You pronounced the straining item as seeve (rhymes with sleeve) but the correct pronunciation is siv (rhymes with liv, link about how you pronounce pensive)
      The info in the video was great though. We have a mandarin (saltwater) that we are trying to supplement with newly hatched bbs. All the diy setup I had going was getting no to be a pain, so I’m glad to see this device actually works!

    When cleaning out and restarting the hatchery, what are you suppose to feed the frys while waiting for the new batch of brine shrimp eggs to hatch?

    • @WeldonTanks
      @WeldonTanks  3 роки тому

      Crushed up flake food. Food like xtreme Nano, aquarium co op fry food, sera micron

    • @btinnin9359
      @btinnin9359 Рік тому

      You can dump the hatchery into another container when they are nearly all hatched and restart the hatchery. Not as easy to harvest out of another container though. Or you can buy 2 and have them on alternating schedules

    This thing rules. Their eggs suck. Buy your eggs from aquarium coop

    • @WeldonTanks
      @WeldonTanks  3 роки тому +1

      This was filmed way before the Co Op was selling eggs. I am very familiar with their eggs now and have done extensive testing between the co op eggs and brine direct eggs. I agree that the co op eggs are an excellent option. The official fish room is up and running and I am feeding out 5x as much brine now
