This lecture is a vital one to watch, for both sisters and brothers. Shaykh Khalid Yasin goes through many important topics, such as the rights and responsibilities of the wife to husband and vice-versa, the controversial issue of polygamy (multiple marriage) - the wisdom and legitimacy behind it and much more. The Shaykh also gives lots of advice for a successful and happy marriage.

I love this brothers lectures and I have been listening to them for years. But why the arab accent all of a sudden? Why do African American men feel the need to sound like everyone else other than themselves? You're muslim so now you're an arab too with a new accent. Be yourself. Khalid yasin does not sound like this. I've been listening to him for years. Drop the fake accent. One of the things i love about this brother and I'm sure I speak for alot of people when i say is his realness. Don't lose that now.

Jahdamah Ma as-Samah assalamalakum Sister. I too feel like you. We don’t have to lose our identity as African Americans to be like another group. But in all fairness, I have to be balanced here. If he has spent time in a muslim country where they speak Arabic it is natural to pick up the dialect. I know people who was born and raised in NY who moved down to NC where I’m from and they start picking up the southern dialect. After a while, you hear words here and there that let you know they’re a New Yorker. To be balanced with Khalid Yasin, he is still speaking very directly with the issues that we face unapologetically. He’s giving jewels backed by the Quran that could help fix our community and how it could unify us against the oppression we still face. So, hopefully he’s not concerned with trying to be anything else but what he is.....Muslim, who is African descendant.
