You absolutely made the right decision keeping them at home with you. Leaving them with someone else could so easily instill a fear of abandonment in them, not to mention just make them sad. You did the right thing!
Poor little babies.. but she’s being so cooperative! I’ve had to give my kitties flea baths on two occasions over the years, and some of them were NOT happy about it. Bean is being so good about it! What a good kitty, and great mama taking care of her.
Poor babies. Beanie is such a champ, Jelly want that bad. They're both such good babies. 4 -7 weeks is forever in kitten math, but at least they get to be at home with foster mommy where they know how much they are loved. Oh, it's nice you've got help for bath 2, that'll go so much faster. They'll adjust, but they've gotta make a lot of complaints in the process.
Poor jelly & bean. Glad that they have you as their loving foster meowmy to help make the next weeks a bit easier for them. I think the way you look after these kittens is just beautiful, you are an angel. Setting them up for the best possible outcomes in life from hopeless starts. It’s a wonderful thing you are doing the world needs more love in it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😺
So sorry about Jelly’s ringworm! The good news is it’s a pretty straightforward and effective treatment. RW is a fungus, and is the exact same fungus as athlete’s foot, ladies’ yeast infections and severe diaper rash, just to put it in human perspective. BTW, maybe it’s because I’m a nurse, but I’ve never gotten RW from any of my rescue or shelter kitties- and I’ve encountered it at least a half-dozen times.. Good handwashing and using gloves for treatment will go a very long way in keeping you protected . Wishing your girl a swift recovery, and please sneak in a few safe kisses when you can! Sending love from Kate in Chiang Mai. xox
Ringworm is not the same as athlete's foot and yeast infections. Athlete's foot and yeast infection are candida and don't produce spores. Ringworm is microsporum cause. Ringworm is highly contagious because of the spores, but it gets resolved faster when treated at home versus a shelter. It's not fatal, just highly annoying. 5-minute contact time with Rescue and steaming all surfaces should kill the spores.
@@stephm2429 Thanks for the information, and I DO stand corrected! When Ms Can Opener was referencing spores on her video, I realized that was news to me. I was taught RW was the same strain of candida as athlete’s foot, etc. Now I know! The treatment protocols are still largely the same though, correct?
@kindlesofkittens sorry if I was a little matter-of-fact...it's been a long day. yes, if treating with a topical cream or ointment, the same active ingredients can be used to treat both. For cats (and dogs, I think) , there are oral medications that are more effective than topicals alone.
😮!!! Little kittens don't understand what's going on. You are doing such an amazing job of bathing them in that anti-ringworm liquid plus giving them medicine! That's a lot to do. I hope you and your other cats are well and your little foster kittens get better soon ❤🎉~
