I've got 2 Bandsaws and hardly use them. I use my dewalt scroll saw a Lot though. Also use my Jig saw a Lot too. And the Lowe's backwards and forward blades make the Jig saw so much more useful. Great informational video. Thank u for taking time to make it.
This was a great video! You made information simple, clear, and easy to understand. I was thinking about getting a scroll saw (and probably a jigsaw). I don't have enough room for a band saw, but if I ever get more space, I might get one. I've seen some of the stuff people have made with a scroll saw and it makes me want to get one for myself. I am new to woodworking. I took a basics class where we used chisels and hand saws mostly (along with some drilling, measuring, routing, and sanding), but I don't have many tools currently yet. From what I've seen, you can do some really cool things with mostly just a scroll saw. It's also smaller than a band saw, so it will fit in the area I have. Thanks for the video.
My jigsaw is annoying - the blade often falls out even if I tighten it well with both screws (it has screws, not quick release). When I turn, the blade derails - moves sideways from where it supposed to be, so needs to be pushed back. Quite frustrating to use it. But it does the job.
The blade travel on a jigsaw is an issue but it doesnt prevent you from cutting thicker material. You can cut up to the depth of the blade travel at its max extension on its down stroke. So if the blade travels to 2" from the bottom of the plate to the tip of the cutting edge on its farthest down stroke you can cut material up to around 1- 7/8" to possibly even 2". You just have to make a slower pass
I don't think of a bandsaw as a curve cutting machine. It's more of an intricate throat out machine or for resawing. If you want to make intricate turns on a saw a scroll saw is the way to go
What's going on with footage.. We can't see anything and if I turn side ways I see half of you... Did you not watch your video before you posted it? Sucks woulda been a great video
Great presentation of pros, cons, and purpose of each saw.
Thanks much!

Thanks for the tips!
Very clear and helpful recap of pros and cons. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

Glad to hear! We have a lot of videos comparing different saws, so definetly keep diving in to find the right saw for you!
I never realized the difference. Now I know. Thank you.

Thank You...very beneficial video. Nicely done!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you sir.
Most welcome
+ jigsaw can start cutting from the middle of a wood or sheet.
Can you cut from the middle of the wood with all three saws?
Not with the bandsaw - he forgot to mention this limitation of it.
Great info thank you for sharing with us
You are so welcome
Thank you 🙂
You’re welcome 😊
also band saw cannot cut out an interior hole i.e. donut hole
Agreed - good point.
I wanna get all three but my space is limited :( Thanks for the information
Yeah the band saw is definetly the biggest of the three!
