    Sounds amazing. I feel like I was in a church that had a pipe organ. And this was playing over the speakers in my Imac. Bravo!!

Now I can listen it: I use my guitar with a GK5 to a GM800 on Logic Pro but now I have latency between my play and the sound: this is my problem today. But excuse me because I don´t want you spend your time with my troubles in work advance with my devices... Best regards from Spain 🙏

      @@guicasoamillo Hi Guillermo, you are welcome - I guess you should set the block size in the audio preferences to a smaller value like 128 or 64 samples. that should get rid of the latency. I wish you lots of luck and fun with the GM-800!

    How do you connect your Godin to the GM-800? Do you send the 13 midi pin on the Godin to the midi port on the GM-800? Or do you use the Boss BGK instrument cable to the GM-800?

    • @midiguitarist4140
      @midiguitarist4140  7 місяців тому +1

      As BOSS have changed their pickup technology you have to buy the separate GKC-AD converter box. You plug the 13 pin cable into the GKC and run the the BGK from there into the GM-800.

    Do you use the GK5 pickup? I dont see it on your guitar 🤔

    • @midiguitarist4140

      In this video I use a Godin Multiac Guitar which has an inbuilt RMC pickup system - from there I run the Roland 13-pin cable into a BOSS GKC-AD converter. From the converter I run the BOSS BGK cable into the GM-800.

      The GM800 doesnt seem to be a plug and play device. It seems to be a bit complicated to make it works. 🤔
      Not like the Boss sy200
      I am hesitating between both.

    • @midiguitarist4140
      @midiguitarist4140  17 днів тому

      @@jonper993It really depends on what kind of sounds you’re after - the GM-800 is for sampled PCM sounds whereas the Sy is a „real“ synthesizer. The GM can be used as a MIDI interface connected to your computer, however and you can build a real powerful custom made guitar synth system with sounds that run on your computer inside of Gig Performer. I will make a video on this kind of setup as soon as possible.

      @@eliseusilva1856Yes you can use open tunings on the GM too, and as far as ghost notes are concerned, the GM has several parameters like low velocity cut, play feel and dynamics that allow you to fine-tune your patches to a great degree. The latency and the ghost notes can be optimized by plucking closer to bridge but the overall responsiveness is greatly improved in this unit - I wish you lots of fun with your MIDI guitar endeavors!

      @@midiguitarist4140 só mais uma duvida antes da aquisição do meu próprio GM-800 pois ainda não tenho..., as afinações abertas que uso elas são digitalmente, ou seja altero a afinação apenas na unidade no patch (vg-99 ou gr-55) porém na guitarra real fica afinação standart normal, te pergunto consigo mudar esta afinação apenas na gm-800 sem alterar a afinação real do instrumento? li os manuais on-line da gm-800 mais não encontrei nada referente, o que me levou a crer que não seria possivel, como vc tem uma, poderia me informar com mais propriedade disso. abraços !

    Does it work in acoustic guitar?

    • @midiguitarist4140
      @midiguitarist4140  7 місяців тому

      Thanks for watching - it works with acoustic guitars if you use a special pickup. For steelstrings you can use the BOSS/Roland GK-5/3 pickups and for nylonstrings you will need RMC pickups with an RMC preamp:
      stores.soundislandmusic.com/rmc-acoustic-system/?page=2
      For those to work with theGM-800 you will also need the BOSS GKC-AD converter.
      I hope that helps.
