    Watched a video from USA quite a few years ago that had a similar recipe with couple of cans of beer and a carton of apple juice added in. First brew popped the buckets in 45 degree centigrade heat. Vented the lids and got it right. Been using it as pig trap bait ever since and it works great. I put the liquid from it into soda bottles with a cloth wick and hang them in a tree above my trap, they smell it for miles. Will give your recipe a try too, Thanks for posting.

      2 liter bottle just shy of half a gallon lasts 3 days if it's not stinking hot. Give it a go, they love that sickly sweet smell. @@Big_Johns_Life

    Grow you a nice food plot and maintain a deer population. Grow natural food year round for them. They'll never leave. Change your mentality from a hunter to a manager. Good luck brother

    Wrap some hog panels , cut it in half length wise and strap them to some T-post just to keep the hogs out from your feeder pen and corn away the hogs which are keeping the deers out

    We have 350 acres in west Texas and its severely over run with hogs, although we do get to keep our freezers full with pig meat they have an effect on the deer population, so we're trying to get rid of as many as possible. I'm gonna try this out, thankyou!
    (Also your dog is beautiful lol)

      That works good as a trap bait to but if you just put it out dig a hole and burry it as deep as you can in that west Texas dirt

    The deer will come back quick if you can get the pigs out. Don't let go of a $500 lease in Texas, that's crazy cheap for Texas

    Run the algorithm. Value of the meat you harvest from the lease minus the cost of the lease. If you are turning a profit keep it, otherwise pull back.

    That bait looks like it works on dogs and hogs! If you're sure you don't have deer on the lease as a result of the hogs, my thoughts are why lease it if you can kill hogs anywhere? Either hunt the house or find another spot to lease that has deer. No sense in wasting your time and money. Just my $0.02.

    • @Big_Johns_Life
      @Big_Johns_Life  5 років тому

      I may give it one more season because what I'm paying for it is not even half as much as most land is leaseing land for

  • @Tex_I_Can
    @Tex_I_Can 5 років тому +1

    It's a cheap enough lease, but if the hogs ran the deer off I don't see the sense in continuing to make the payments.

    • @Big_Johns_Life

      450 a year is cheap in Texas but you also get what you pay for. I would use milo and not corn but the corn should work to.

    You forgot the new ingredient I invented this year
    One can of tuna LOL
    I'm still working the stink out of that bucket of tuna corn whiskey .... Uh I mean hog bait LOL
    20 acres is a lot when you get out and start walking all over it and I sure would not pay for a lease if I already had 20 acres to hunt
    Oh wait that's what i do now except with 40 acres at the back of a farm LOL
    I'm only hunting that feeder area so that is what brings them all in is a feeder they get use to seeing in the same spot month after month

  • @GunsKnivesandBeer

    Not much different if you stay on your land or use the lease land leased it provides a little bit of a change up every now and then as long as you’re making some money on the lease land might as well keep hunting it
