I fly for a living so I can’t go the SBR route and with the pistol brace bullshit that makes carrying a rifle difficult. That being said I do have a Ready 2.0 in the discreet grey and always have a trauma kit and multiple tourniquets everywhere I go.
Brother, I think it is cool. I'm a 60yr old Marine Vet. I wouldn't EDC a rifle on the job, but in other places sure, because of my Job restrictions. But, that is just my preference, and have no issues with it, as long as, like any weapon we might carry, that person is competent in its use, not an untrained goof wanting to be Rambo. All of us should seek out to be well trained ( practice, practice, practice) in just the use and care of a firearm. So , seek that out, whether UA-cam and practice at home, or someone you know who can teach you. But , once you have, man carry, ...carry a howitzer if you can. For those that don't know or think about it, a short Barrel rifle is more accurate when that is absolutely needed to stop an evil doer in the midst of a killing spree. Good video.
Nothing wrong with carrying a rifle every day, but also nothing wrong with saying it's paranoid (because it is, a pistol will do just learn to shoot). Bless the first and second amendment equally.
There’s nothing paranoid about it. There is a distinct difference between saying “bad things can happen and I’ll choose to be extremely prepared” and “ I’m scared to exist and I carry because I’m terrified of bad things”.
I have two bag guns. One Vertx Gamut and one Dynamis Alliance LVL. Both with premier soft body armor. I carry the Dynamis everyday. I travel via airlines, so converting it to non edc is super simple. I run an AP5k (mp5 clone) and 3 mags or a handgun off body carry in the LVL bag. Has an incredible amount of pockets and accessories areas. As expected from anything that Dom Raso creates. Plenty of room for Med supplies. The vertx used to be my everyday bag. But the Dynamis is superior in many areas. It also cost twice as much.
10:00 The MOLLE webbing seems great for those first aid kits that have a simple safety buckle and pull-away Velcro on the back... Or just Velcro to that field as well.
I always enjoy more bag content. For me the Gamut 2.0 is the biggest bag I'd consider discreet for travel. However for everyday it's a bit too big. An as you say discretion is the key. Personally the 5.11 Lv10 sling bag is a bag I'm currently playing around with. However I am a huge fan of Vertx bags as well and I might be in the market for the Transit Sling. It's very similar. However 5.11 has a decent build quality, just not vertx good.
