I’ve been through 2 different police academies, tests are definitely the stressful part. But also the first 1-3 months of getting physically beat down with the PT and smoke sessions lol
In California we have to score 84% or higher I'd be less stressed if it was 75% haha , I'm in scenario testing and I feel like that's the most stressful because you never know what call you will get and what scenario you are being tested on until you arrive on scene. Plus we can get fired if we fail a scenario test. It's not hard it's just that make or break from graduating in 3 weeks that's stressful
The test-taking was nerve-racking for me. I have test anxiety so it made it worse. We had to score 70% except on the DUI/SFST we had to score 80% on a 10-question test. Definitely find a way to stay focused.
The hardest part for me (currently going through the academy) it was how we would have intense PT for the first half of the day, like I’m talking 400 sit-ups 200 push-ups 75 lunges and a lot of uphill running then hours of lectures after being physically worn down and I’m talking death by PowerPoint, then we would have a 50 point test on multiple topics it was tedious

Academy is scheduled for November but I have my fit test and reading test July 1st, I’m hoping I pass the background and polygraph test tho. I’m gonna knock the fit test and reading test out the park all I’ve been doing is studying and working out
When the academy instructors say HINT HINT, or THIS may be on your test, i think you need to listen. Lol. I didnt study and banged out high 90's and 100's on every test. My 1st test was 100. TEST: a) M&M's, b) Peanuts, c) Slittles, d) Probable Cause. Thats how easy I feel the test was. Another question. You drive by and see a home owner and his son sitting on their portch cleaning 1 rifle and 2 handguns. What do you do, a) pull over and approach the house and question why they have guns. b) keep driving and do nothing. c) pull over introduce yourself and engage a conversation about gun safety, gun cleaning, and types of firearms. d) call dispatch, let them know there are 2 armed individuals who appear suspicious, call for back up, or e) pull over, engage both indiviuals, run their I.D through NCIC to find out if they are felons and legally own all 3 guns. 😅😅😅
I hope you answered b. Because cops need to fucking mind their business. I'm on my property with my firearms. What gives a pig the right to just notice that and stop and come and approach me? You might be on the end of the barrel of three guns. Sounds fucking plain stupid to me. Most cops probably just call back up and make it sound way worse & turn it into like a situation where somebody gets killed. 😂😅 Of course the test taking was hard, they're not looking for intelligent people to walk beats. if you're smart you'll become a detective. That dude, that's been beat in the streets for 20 years is a fucking idiot. That's why he never got a promotion to do anything else. Yeah that or he enjoys just being able to harass people five days a week.
The answer is (B) there is not probable cause and very little reasonable suspicion based on the fact that they have weapons, to make contact with the home owner. It’s not a crime to clean a firearm. Now if you received a complaint in regards to them you can make contact. There is many gray areas. But for the sake of this question and as it pertains, B. Would be the answer.

I'm 7 weeks from graduating my academy, and the tests were my biggest concern. Our department here in Florida requirements was a score of 80 or above, but thank God I passed all 19 tests plus the state exam, and now in ky final weeks THANK GOD
I’m in the academy now and the minimum passing score is a 80% and you can only fail two exams throughout the entire academy which constantly stresses me out. So only two weeks in and one exam down I agree the test are the hardest and most stressful part.
I went to a regional academy and the hardest part for me was making sure not to procrastinate. Luckily for me I have always been a good test taker, and physically fit.
For me it’s the Memo’s, I’m squared away. But to have to write a Memo over “your boots aren’t shining” “combination lock or key lock” and then these notes follow you back to your Department….come on
I head off to the academy this July, do you have any tips on learning all the dry (but important) stuff like case law and elements of crimes? Also any note taking tips? Love the videos thank you!
This guy isn't an actual cop lol I went in and graduated like in 2004, did 13 years and got TF out. The most challenging part wasnt academy at all, it was learning to deal with other officers. I had a few issues with professionalism and conduct with my class of T48Alpha. It was a combination of frustration during combatives training and specifically during tactical handcuffing another officer. We had to do Armbar takedowns from wristlocks in a set motion that the instructors showed us. You had to do it their way. Me and my partner was going about 20%-30% on each other and the instructor didn't like that, so he made my partner drive me into the ground to do the arm bar takedown. My issue was you had to preform about 12 steps in the takedown THEIR way or you would fail and have to start over. Idk about you but 12 hours in a mat room towards waking up at 5 am to be there at 7 to start at 8 am, lasting till at least 7 pm, and trying to remember specific steps with a inpatient instructor was the hardest part. The tests where all verbatim from study material and the POPAT in my state was a breeze. Just get through academy and get on field training, that's when the REAL job begins. Just be yourself, be early, and have fun. You'll only get to live this once so enjoy it. Enjoy doing EVOC n stuff its a blast of a time.

Really? Because I'm a firefighter/paramedic and I work with police every shift. Do you know how many times I've seen an officer pull someone out of a burning building because they got there faster that the fire dept could? Or out of a crashed/burning car? The amout of times I've seen police do CPR on a child that has drowned or overdosed on their parents drugs? I've seen cops at their best and it's "truly a noble profession".
I already went!!😄 Hardest part was staying injury free🤣😂
this 😂 so many in my class got injured including myself
And understanding constitutional rights! But you already are indoctrinated, and you're not wearing your big boy pants, you're only becoming a police officer because you want to be a tyrant, and there's some kind of retribution or a get back, because somebody violated you continuously when you were a child!
When i grow up imma be a Police Officer But I would say if i was thinking it would be Taser and Pepper spray test
My grandpa was the chief of police so I am going to try to be like him thanks for informing me
I’m interested in joining up but tbh what I’m nervous about is the OC Spray part. I think I’d rather get shot than have OC sprayed in my eyes
I’ve been through 2 different police academies, tests are definitely the stressful part. But also the first 1-3 months of getting physically beat down with the PT and smoke sessions lol
Yes the written exams were full on in the Queensland Police Academy, Australia. Lots of study.
I'm my academy. Our test he'd to be 100 percent. Nothing less. The hardest part was firearms, defensive driving and defensive tactics.
I’m going to start my application for the Orange County Sheriffs in two weeks on my 20th birthday. So this is great advice.
In California we have to score 84% or higher I'd be less stressed if it was 75% haha , I'm in scenario testing and I feel like that's the most stressful because you never know what call you will get and what scenario you are being tested on until you arrive on scene. Plus we can get fired if we fail a scenario test. It's not hard it's just that make or break from graduating in 3 weeks that's stressful
how long did your background check take ? I am in this part now
The test-taking was nerve-racking for me. I have test anxiety so it made it worse. We had to score 70% except on the DUI/SFST we had to score 80% on a 10-question test. Definitely find a way to stay focused.
The SFST test was very easy though. No wonder why it is 80% to pass. If you can’t study that part good enough to score 80% then, you should worry lol.
bro isn't even an officer anymore lmao
The hardest part for me (currently going through the academy) it was how we would have intense PT for the first half of the day, like I’m talking 400 sit-ups 200 push-ups 75 lunges and a lot of uphill running then hours of lectures after being physically worn down and I’m talking death by PowerPoint, then we would have a 50 point test on multiple topics it was tedious
I thought he was going say the hardest part was getting pepper sprayed lol 😂
I’m going to be starting my application eminently.
I’m sure this will be the hardest part for me too
I have so much support for you because my mom was a police officer for about a year
She still a cop ? What happened?

@@itsssstiny_ what was on the exam?
I will be going to the academy soon in the future
I wonder how many of you are going to fucking get pissy
Uhh what’s the answer? 😅 I would choose C

It may feel good for a moment, but saving lives and having a career worth having is much better imo. In Florida the academy is 6 months long it’s 80% or higher on each test with a total of approximately 14-16 tests . Then after you complete your required hours and graduate from the academy, you are not certified until you take the Florida state exam which is 250 questions and you must pass with an 80% or higher
I just enrolled last week back into school. Going to apply for the police academy. Hopefully being out the military for 5 years hasn't made soft on ppl!
80 % at the academy I went to

I was just bout to say “the test taking”
The hardest part got to be the chicken test

I head off to the academy this July, do you have any tips on learning all the dry (but important) stuff like case law and elements of crimes? Also any note taking tips? Love the videos thank you!
This guy isn't an actual cop lol
I went in and graduated like in 2004, did 13 years and got TF out.
