Solar Glide 3 was a big departure from the 2nd version (SG19), which was very similar to Solar Boost 19. It also was weirdly not any lighter. It appears they brought back the cushioning and I think people will be happy with that.
I bought some for the outlet for €40 as were the last pair/size. feel like a great shoe and an alternative to the NIKE invincible run 2 , which i think are maybe too soft. I used the SG's for a 1st run 10miler and are very plush but still responsive. I did have a pinch point beside my foot ball that created a small blood blister , but this may be just my foot fall. a great shoe , top quality and a bargain for the price i purchased.
Great review, very informative! I saw you holding up the Saucony triumph 17 and i was wondering, how does the solar glide compare in terms of weight to the triumph 17? I have the 17 and have loved the ride but the upper is too hot and overly cushioned, the more I see about the new solar glide 5 the more I think it's a perfect successor to my truimphs
Thanks Stan, well spotted! I would say Triumph slightly lighter, more flexible and more responsive. Solar Glides a bit more supportive. But similar in terms of upper breathability and padding. But damn the Solar Glides are comfortable.
Hi i think you should just mention or try to get and reveiew the Solar Glide 6 (M) which is mostly similar exept the tongue and lockdown is slightly fixed. I personally have slight pronation issue and wsnted a shoe for casual wear, running, snd normal sport use which is stable and i didnt care much the weight when i tried it out in store. So this shoe suits me!😊.
this shoes are more comfortable than adidas ultraboost on my feet for running. That’s why i like adidas. they invent varieties of product which comfort variety of foot structures.
Nice video man! I have first marathon in about a month and I’m looking for an adidas race day pair for it. Would you say it would be suitable for that? Sort of concern about the weight.
Hi Tshidiso, this is not going to be quite as stable as the Kayano, but adidas are bringing out a stability version of the solar glide in the second half of this year called the Solar Control- that will be worth a try!
Just tried it. I have no hold in heel, and my forefoot gets squeezed a lot. I don't remember any other Adidas shoes from this and last year being that tight. It's also pretty heavy...
Thanks for the feedback. Very valid downsides of the shoe. I personally don't have a problem with any of the above but totally understand why they could get in your way👍
Yes it’s pretty stable for a neutral shoe, although there’s a stability equivalent called the Solarcontrol that is most likely going to be more suited for your running 👍
Slightly heavy and soft for a versatile speed to distance daily trainer, but if you’re not concerned about speed it’ll do the trick as a daily trainer!
And $70 cheaper than the overpriced Ultra Boost 22. How does this compare with the ultra boost 22? To me, the cushioning looks comparable. I don't see why I would pay that much extra for the ultra boost.
Why does Adidas think creating a bulky shoe that does not flatter the foot and makes women look like they are wearing clown shoes is a reasonable approach to shoe design. I am returning my Ultraboosts because they make my feet look enormous. I ordered these solar glides and am now worried that I will have to return these too. Ugh. Reviewers, I get that you want to praise the "sustainability" but remember that all of these shoes are going to end up in landfills, creating more pollution. Sustainable isn't the correct word.
Just ordered a pair of Grey Solar Glides off the Adidas site for $70. Hoping they are not tight across the ball of my footbecause there was not an option for width. Looks wide enough from the bottom though.
Just bought today, they are almost as good as ultraboost love em
Would you recommend it to use with plantar fascitis?
Great review, might pick this up for my HR training in summer ☀️

You didn't talk about fit of the shoes. Thanks for the review! 🙏

Thank you for the review! just one question is it also good for walking 2-3 hours per day
It’ll definitely do the trick!

Nice running shoes this 🔥
Great review! Thanks 😊
Thanks for this good review! I'm a happy SolarGlide 5 user and i can confirm your findings! Do you already have some feedback on de SolarGlide 6?
Fantastic review, it is softer than UB21? For a daily trainer use, thx
Awesome video !
What exactly the colour is ?? Is it orange ? Golden yellow ? Or mix of orange and yellow ??
Would you recommend the 5 over the Solar glide 4 ST Trail? The latter just seems to have more outsole, that's all.

Would you recomend the solarglide for ultra running.
Hello! Is it bad to store running shoes inside it's own shoebox?
Not at all! But keeping shoes unused for >5 years will cause them to lose bounciness underfoot
@@runningshoegeek Thank you for the reply man! I appreciate it :D
I have issues with the tongue moving around. Kinda wish I stuck with nmd
Yeah that top of the tongue needs to be stitched into the upper!
Just ordered mine 🙌 looks like they fix the front under foot more boost 😍
tênis solar glide 5 é bom pra correr longe e maratona?
Nice video man! I have first marathon in about a month and I’m looking for an adidas race day pair for it. Would you say it would be suitable for that? Sort of concern about the weight.
I wouldn't want to have these on for race day. Have you tried the new Boston 10 on yet? That would be my first recommendation 👍
My plan was to get the Kayno from ASICS but I think this might be better.

Is it good for people with flat feet/ overpronation ???

@@runningshoegeek thank you I had the same doubt
Would this make a good daily trainer?

I fully agree. SG5 is good value for money. UB22 not so much, however the UB is a rather unique shoe that seems to catch some runners feelings.
Do they fit for wide feet?
I don't think so, better for a regular or slim foot.
