Addition and Subtraction of Rational Functions by Finding a Common Denominator

We look at an example of simplifying a sum or difference of rational expressions in a variable x by finding a common denominator for each term. We also discuss how to find undefined points associated with the function by finding x values that would cause.a denominator to equal zero. We also discuss the appearance of a "hole" in a function if a factor appears both in the numerator and denominator of the expression for the funciton.
