Top 10 song for sure. But a few others...
    1. BMTH Kingslayer ft BabyMetal live in Tokyo (all time favorite)
    2. Megitsune music video (best older song when they were young)
    3. Monochrome live (new album)
    4. Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (best live showcasing the Kami band behind the girls)
    5. Road or Resistance live in Japan (probably their most iconic live show).
    6. Headbanger 1997 live

    • @Jason_Singe
      @Jason_Singe 19 днів тому

      A few more to consider...
      1. BMTH Kingslayer ft BabyMetal live at Sick New World festival 2024.
This show was only last week, so there are only bad quality fan-cam videos right now, but if there is an official video, that might be one to look out for.
      2. Monochrome (The F1rst Take Piano version).
This version completely strips back the whole song to focus primarily on the vocals alone.
      3. Headbanger (Moametal version)
      4. Headbanger (Momometal version)
These versions give the spotlight to the two back up singer and their singing talents, as a gift to them on their respective 20th birthdays.

Welcome to the Foxhole and the wonderful world of happy metal that is BABYMETAL! 🤘🦊🤘
Most of the truly important information has been or will be given in other comments, so I like to give the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information.
BABYMETAL started as an experimental sub-unit of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin.
    Babymetal are:
Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess.
Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls.
Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite
Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Left the group in 2018 due to undisclosed health issues: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Yui-bot, Tomato Princess, Tomato-Kun, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul). Yui had a minor role as a child actor in a Japanese TV Drama before joining Sakura Gakuin. She has cute, chubby cheeks.
Fun Fact: Yui is tickled by Bullfrogs.
** WARNING ** Do NOT, ever, under any circumstances call her “small”, "smol", “short” or “tiny” (same rule applies to Moametal).
Moa Kikuchi\Moametal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Love\Smile, Queen of Hearts, Princess Moa, Kawaii Princess, Super Moa-chan, Maiden of Mischief, and Headmistress of Hedabon. She has huge dimples and a smile that melts the hardest of hearts.
Fun Fact: Loves to troll Su-metal on-stage with little pranks as well as torment Su-metal with Bullfrogs.
Momoko Okazaki\Momometal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Joy, Kawaii Princess, Princess Peach, Momo-Monster, Vampire Slayer, Kabuki Queen. Also a Sakura Gakuin graduate. Was a contestant on the Korean reality survival program "Girls Planet 999" (which thankfully for The ONE, she was eliminated from early on) and performed in a stage musical production of "Black Butler". Momoko was the only “Avenger” (see below) to perform in the “10 BABYMETAL Budokan” shows in 2021 and was officially named Momometal and made a permanent member in April 2023. She deserves the spot!
Fun Fact: Momoko's father is a popular comedian in Japan known for making dead-pan jokes. Momoko worked very hard to make her way without using his name as a crutch.
BLACK BABYMETAL: Yuimetal and Moametal performing as a duet while Su-metal takes a breather. Also known as “MoiMoi”. There are 4 BBM songs (GJ!, Onedari Daiskusen, 4 No Uta\Song 4, and Sis. Anger) some of which Moametal performed solo a few times after Yui's departure. Now that Momometal is a member, we are hoping for more BBM songs with MoMoa! But only the Fox God knows.
AVENGERS: 3 Dancers who took turns performing the choreography in Yuimetal’s spot after her departure. They were not official members did not have microphones and were not even named. It was the fans who quickly figured out who they were and you will see them in live performances between 2018 and 2021.
    They were:
    Momoko Okazaki (see above).
Riho Sayashi: Suzuka’s former rival at Actors School Hiroshima, often competing for the same roles. Former “Ultimate Ace” of the JPop Idol group Morning Musume. Now a solo artist.
Kano Fujihara: Former Member of Sakura Gakuin, the school-aged Idol group that BABYMETAL was born out of. Like Suzuka and Moa before her, Kano was Student Council President her last year in Sakura Gakuin and like Yui, was considered arguably the best dancer in SG during her time there. She is now a member of the Idol group @onefive, which is comprised of 4 Sakura Gakuin graduates (Kano, Momo, Soyo and Gumi). Kano only performed with BABYMETAL in Japan as she could not travel, likely due to her commitments to Sakura Gakuin and the then developing @onefive.
    We are #notacult.

Oh you sweet summer child :) Welcome new Kitsune! The foxhole goes deeper than you can imagine and it's face-blasting awesome all the way. If you enjoy this kind of rap/hiphop metal fusion I recommend you go check out a live version of BxMxC next (avoid the studio version for first impressions for all babymetal content because these guys are complete and utter live monsters). And also check out a "babymetal guide" video for some context if you want a quick download of the lore, they're great fun and makes for good react content too!

The "sign" you asked about is something rappers (especially in the 80's and 90's) would do when "spitting" or "beatboxing". Here it is just part of the choreography to represent rapping.

Yes, you do need to see them live! Like you, I listen to contrasting genres of music - of people you've reacted to recently I've seen BabyMetal, Home Free, The Longest Johns, and Tommy Johansson (with Sabaton) live in 2023-4. It's the best way to be IMO. The dancing is an integral part of a BM show - I say it's more like ballet than pop video dance despite the style, because it does a lot of storytelling. The shows are incredibly energetic - I don't know how they keep going, to be honest.
Totally agree with you about anime openings! I've always thought their song _Syncopation_ would have been perfect for FMA: Brotherhood. I would definitely recommend it except I don't know if it would get blocked (there are only certain videos that get through).
For a different feel can I recommend _Monochrome,_ in any version - live, the MV, or the acoustic piano version (on The First Take)? It's an optimistic(!) song about the dropping of the bomb on Hiroshima (which is where Su comes from). There's stuff to appreciate about all three ways of experiencing it.
    Anyway, welcome to the foxhole!

The first 3 are from early in their career and the last song can show you just how great of a voice Su has.....these should get your journey into the fox hole started. I got to see them twice in concert last year and it was fantastic...out of the numerous concerts that I have been too, the Babymetal concert was by far the best of them all, and I plan on seeing them again when they come back around.

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey 🦊🤘🔥
Nice song to start your BM journey, isn't an unusual reaction but isn't so recommended either, regardless you're gonna surprise with this group in every song, sometimes you'll feel heavier, sometimes more poppy or just different like this one.
Both recently did another collab along with Bodyslam called Leave It All Behind so that's another cool song for you to enjoy next time.
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop (no Kpop involved) with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
    They are:
    *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year.
-YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018.
    None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.
    About the song:
You're jumping into Metal Galaxy 2019 album.
Last year fans at Bangkok had a blast with this song live with F.Hero as a special guest for the third time performing together after this 2019 live version in Japan, but everyone were enjoying this in every concert, is a hit they don't wanna miss in any of their setlist.
F.Hero is a top Thai rapper artist and he's singing/rapping in Thai language, the title is in reference to the papaya fruit used as an ingredient in a popular Thai salad.
It's a fun song to represent and celebrate the mix between these two great cultures, that's in summary bc the lyrics got some more in-depth breakdown if you really wanna look for it, but if you're looking for deeper meaning songs then you gonna find it, don't worry about it. Fans of all generations had a blast at the World Tour 2023/2024 (including Asian/Australian Tour last year), they played this last weekend at Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas and last week at San Francisco as part of the Babyklok Tour along with Dethklok, is a hit they don't wanna miss in any of their setlist.
If you want another rare live performance with Latin rhythm vibes you got "Night Night Burn" live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020, or with Indian influence like "Shanti Shanti Shanti" official MV, better yet if you look for "folky" vibes then you got "Oh! MAJINAI" ft. Joakim Brodem live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 or Budokan 2021.
This song belongs to 3rd album "Metal Galaxy" released in 2019 but this one as well many more songs are exploring a different Babymetal side, sometimes more mature, but trying to not lose their fun.
The footage of this was took from BABYMETAL AWAKENS: The Sun Also Rises 2019 in Yokohama Arena, Japan, F.Hero was invited for this, the night before he was really in panic with the amount of people and even throwing all out after the show, It ain't easy to face that crowd, especially after receiving some negative critics from BM fans who didn't like his participation on this, luckily he recover from this and received a warming welcome. Also that night they introduced the _avengers_ system, a group of three backup dancers filling the third spot that YuiMetal left (she left the group in 2018). They rotate so not always you'll see the same one on stage, usually the live official MV before 2020 is with Kano Fujihira, she started this when having 14 years old, so young like our girls back in their early days. None of them had mic or sing and aren't official members, they just dance. But remember that status recently changed in April when one of them, MomoMetal, became a new official member, but again the one you saw in this official live MV is Kano-chan.
The official MV is with studio album sound so wait to hear the blaster sound of the Kami Band when playing this live.
I'm gonna leave in my next suggestion where to get more safe clips to react if YT allows me to do it. Meanwhile next suggestion:
    - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV (2015).
    See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

      @jakemuller8626 22 дні тому +5

Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions:
      - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast.
      ua-cam.com/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/v-deo.html
      - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo.
      ua-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/v-deo.html
      - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014.
      ua-cam.com/video/dU38CYkpBvI/v-deo.html
      - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997.
      ua-cam.com/video/nwsinmxTxbo/v-deo.html
      - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one.
      ua-cam.com/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/v-deo.html
      - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014.
      ua-cam.com/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/v-deo.html
      - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do.
      ua-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/v-deo.html
      - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs.
      ua-cam.com/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/v-deo.html
      - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday).
      ua-cam.com/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/v-deo.html
      - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live.
      ua-cam.com/video/Yj-UQIlqsIQ/v-deo.html
If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is.
      ua-cam.com/video/ESzY9dL613Q/v-deo.html
      - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal.
      ua-cam.com/video/1dT1ywYR5So/v-deo.html
      - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014.
      ua-cam.com/video/5sCvYVNeD0w/v-deo.html
      - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro.
      ua-cam.com/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/v-deo.html
      - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV, be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case.
      ua-cam.com/video/zTEYUFgLveY/v-deo.htmlsi=BsVOSExS25Qndy1H
      - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.
      ua-cam.com/video/M8FKumvh-w8/v-deo.html
Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo.
      - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song.
      ua-cam.com/video/Hg0Rylcg8F0/v-deo.html
This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list.
      ua-cam.com/video/q40VmTHSh4c/v-deo.html
And here's a BM guide (the long one).
      ua-cam.com/video/aIb2xEthdSg/v-deo.htmlsi=EnEYU4nN3tuiY3WL
There's a beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until last year unlike the other one with full updates till this year.

J-pop, not K-pop, mixed with metal. Last year they did about 100 shows in 25 countries. They have a world wide following and can sell out 20-30k capacity arenas in Japan pretty much any time they want. This was from a show in the Yokohama Arena in 2019.

It's Japanese Idol mixed with Metal. Jpop is very broad and actually includes rock. There are some excellent rock songs in Jpop. My personal favorite is 'Hitohira no Hanabira'.
There is a decent amount of rock/metal/alternative rock in Vocaloid too.

Fun first reaction! No two songs sound remotely the same. There's interpretive choreo for every single song. The messaging mixes from silly and fun to inspiring and emotional (there's a song about anti bullying). They blend lots of genres with metal. Always a surprise around every corner!
    An anecdote..
I'm 47, discovered them late 2022, and last year my wife and I had the insane luck of seeing them back to back in Texas, and for one show we were very close to the stage (something fans can't get in these giant production shows) and oh man, their actual stage presence, her singing, their dancing, all out of this world mind blowing live. I had built them up in my head but I still wasn't ready for the emotional shock (in a good way) when they took the stage.
The amount of personal crowd interacting they did the US tour was brand new and so fun also! They really make the crowd feel special, like you're part of the show, not just watching a performance.
Their relentless infectious energy is inspiring and I love it!!
    Enjoy your journey!

It's important to mention J-pop when discussing Babymetal, as they're a Japanese heavy metal dance unit. Since Japan and Korea are separate countries with their own languages, it's good to acknowledge this distinction. Though it might seem like a small detail, it can be meaningful and respectful to people from both nations. Welcome to the Foxhole❣️🤘🦊🤘

Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊There is nobody quite like BABYMETAL. They are Japanese and started in 2010 as a sub-unit of a school themed JPop Idol group (they were aged 12 and 11 at the time) and created their own metal sub-genre mixing Metal with JPop (not KPop - that is Korean) hooks, melodies and aesthetics. They separated from the parent group in 2013 and have been touring the world every year (when they could) since 2014.
We have watched them grow up and become one of the very best live acts on the planet.🤘
BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocalist and the whole concept was formed and developed around her vocal talents and stage presence - she is exceptionally talented), Moametal and Momometal (in charge of backing vocals, harmonies and mainly hyping and involving the crowd with their choreo).
The original third member was Yuimetal, she left the band in 2018 for health reasons, Momometal became the third member in April last year.
The backing vocals are the parts the crowd will sing along with and they are a huge part of what sets BABYMETAL apart from other bands.
They are supported in all live shows by the Kami Band, all of them are world class instrumentalists. Since 2019 they have two Kami Bands, the Kami Band of the East (the best Japanese session musicians you could ask for) have been with them since 2012 and full time since early 2014. The Kami Band of the West (American musicians) joined them in 2019 and have been the full time support for the lengthier tours around the world (they played nearly 100 concerts in 25 countries last year).
You will only see and hear the Kami Band in live performances, they do not record the studio versions (with one guitarist being the known exception).
They have nearly 70 songs now, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre, but they will mix and blend so many other musical styles and genres with the metal - usually when you least expect it.
Their official videos are all very good, but live BABYMETAL is best. I'm sure you will get some great suggestions for more songs. Some are straight metal, some lean towards their pop roots and they do everything in between. All you can be sure of is that they will surprise you every time, you will not be able to predict what you will see or hear from them next. Expect the unexpected.
'PA PA YA' is a summer festival song - and they're going hard singing and dancing about a spicy Thai papaya fruit salad.🥝
Such a good live song, it really gets the whole crowd jumping and waving towels round their heads (Su, Moa and Momoko love to see everybody doing that and we love to see them happy, so everybody brings or buys a towel specially for this song).
F Hero is a rapper from Thailand. He flew in to Japan specially to perform on the first two nights of BABYMETAL's 2019 tour (that was where he was filmed - this is the official video so the audio is from the studio - there is a live video for this performance with the live audio and it is even better).
They performed in Bangkok in Thailand as part of their world tour last year and F Hero made another special guest appearance.
F Hero was rapping in this song to the same rhythm as mixing the ingredients for the salad with a mortar and pestle.
They are pretty much saying that, much like the salad, mixing the right spices in the right amounts into life will make that better too.🦊
Oh, the hand over the mouth thing ... this song has F Hero's rap element, their choreo is nearly always interpretive or related to a lyric or the meaning of the song so they were just imitating the "gangsta rapper" move.

Nice to see another Aussie checking out Babymetal. There is a small but very passionate fan community here in Australia and a handful of us travel to Japan regularly to see them live when they do their big arena shows. Babymetal actually toured Australia in June last year and played Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.
Babymetal is just the three ladies up front. Su-metal in the middle is the lead vocalist, she does about 90% of the vocals, while Moametal (on the right) does backing vocals. The third girl in this video is Kano Fujihira, who was a backup dancer filling in during this period. Since then, Momometal has been added as a new member of the group doing backing vocals with Moametal.
Babymetal is the brainchild of their producer/manager Kobametal. It was his idea to blend J-pop with metal and create this new genre he calls "kawaii metal" (cute metal). Fans often like to call Babymetal "happy metal" because they always give off such joyous energy in their performances and you can't help but smile watching them.
It's funny that you mentioned Electric Callboy, because they are appearing as guests of Babymetal at a mini festival Babymetal is hosting in Tokyo at the end of May called FOX_FEST.
If you like F.Hero, you should check out the song "Leave It All Behind", which is a collaboration between F.Hero, Babymetal, and the Thai rock band Bodyslam.
Hopefully you check out some more of their songs. They have a very diverse discography as they like blend element of all kinds of different genres into their music. My recommendation for what to watch next would be Megitsune Live at PIA Arena 2023 - ua-cam.com/video/edbqQ-ldF_U/v-deo.html

Anyone that tells you that the lyrics to a BABYMETAL song don't mean anything significant, is doing you a disservice.
Professor A.J. Hartley has a lyric breakdown of all the BABYMETAL songs on his UA-cam Channel.
    I think they're all at least 30 minutes long. : )
That being said, it's not strictly neccessary to understand the lyrics to the songs in order to be able to enjoy them.
Just that there's often more to them than might be seen on the surface.
In 'PA PA YA!!' for instance, F.HERO's rap section is in the Thai language.
He's a well known rapper in Thailand.
His raps talks about spicy papaya salad.
Crushing the sweet and spicy ingredients together in a mortar, in order to bring out the flavor, is used as a metaphor for life.

Welcome & Thanks from Japan, the homeland of BABYMETAL and "J"-Rock 有難う💛。 This popular song was performed 3 times in USA last month (April 24/25 in San Francisco and April 27 in Las Vegas).
BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 68-year-long life. (Before BM, I was a stubborn jazz / funk lover) We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄

The choreography Babymetal does is largely interpretive of the lyrics, by design. They are covering their mouths to show that the Som Tam they are eating is really spicy hot. Their choreographer is MIKIKO and she is one of Japan's best. Although it was amusing to consider that Babymetal were flashing gang signs 😂. Closest to that will be the sign of the fox (kitsune) similar to the rock devil horns popularized by Ronnie James Dio but with middle fingers and thumb extended together. Not to be mistaken for naive the girls apparently really are the humble and genuine innocents they seem to be. Well, except Moa likes to do a bit of mischief on-stage 😂.

Great first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘 Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii (cute) metal group (a metal subgenre that they created) that formed in 2010 when the original 3 girls were 11-12 years old (yes, they were very young), and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Download, Sonisphere, Glastonbury, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too. Also, they released a new amazing album last year and they just finished a world tour where they had many shows here in the US. They also recently released a new music video for their song called "Metali" that features Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello. 🤘🦊🤘

Great reaction, and welcome to Babymetal! Our resident Babymetal loremasters have given you tons of solid info. So here's a brief for ya:
*Brief:* 14-year veterans of the industry, ~10 years of world tours, 4 albums, 60+ songs, and the oldest (Su-metal) is only 26! Backup vocals/dancers Moametal and Momometal supports Su, and lead the choreography and crowd, but has taken lead on special occasions and are solid vocalists themselves.
*Style:* J-Pop/Metal fusion that incorporates a wide array of genres and influences to delivery the best live perform experience with an energetic, positive, and fun message.
*Lyrics:* Do make sure you check out live performances with subtitles - Babymetal can be fun and goofy and sing about Chocolate, Bubblegum, or Papaya, but they also have very deep, somber, and epic songs, anthems, and rock ballads.
*Band:* They have solid core of session musicians backing them for their live, originally Japanese members (Kami Band East), but are now American members (Kami Band West).
*Lore:* Fox God summons Babymetal to infiltrate the "Big Bad" Idol industry to convert them to metal, and spread heavy metal across the world.
*Fox Sign:* The girls thought the devil horns in metal were foxes in shadow play because they were literally 12/11 then. Producer thought that was cute yet metal so he rolled with it and made a whole backstory/lore around it. Now it's tradition.
    ----------------------
    Suggestions:
*Road of Resistance (Official Live):* If you want to see something truly epic, from 9 years ago. A staple show closer for almost a decade.
*Headbanger (Legend 1997):* 10.5 years ago, Su-metal's Dec 2013 birthday concert for her sweet 16th. This is the quintessential early Babymetal sound in my opinion.
*Monochrome (Pia Arena MM):* Apr 2023, newer song, hard rock with melodic vocals and emotional vibes. Awesome.
*Catch Me If You Can (Budokan 2014):* Hide and seek, performed in the most brutal and adorable fashion. Band says hi.
    *Akatsuki (Budokan 2014):* "Love Ballad"
*Megitsune (Pia Arena MM):* A fan favorite and a decade+ Babymetal classic.
Look forward to more Babymetal! 🤘🦊

Good reaction. Welcome to the crazy universe of BabyMetal.
BabyMetal is an atypical heavy metal group, because they are idols. In Japan, idols are often paired with pop music (Jpop), and Babymetal was actually a subgroup of a larger idol group called Sakura Gakuin.
Sakura was made up of girls between 10 and 15 years old dedicated to Jpop. When SuMetal (the singer) started she was 12 years old and MoaMetal/YuiMetal (the backup singers) were only 10 years old. Sakura represented the Japanese high school and the girls were distributed in clubs (traditional Japanese extracurricular activities such as cooking, swimming, basketball, sewing, etc.).
One of the producers, a lover of heavy metal, saw that Su's singing could perfectly be used in metal and asked permission from the Mother House (Amuse) to create the heavy music club, proposing an experiment in fusion between metal and the pop. Nobody, as they themselves have confessed, had much hope for its outcome, but they gave it the green light and thus BabyMetal, Sakura Gakuin's heavy music club, was born.
The first songs were intended for girls between 10 and 15 years old, who were Sakura's target audience. However, their quality and the fusion between pop and metal attracted attention beyond this audience and they began to frequent their metal concerts... a shocking audience of children and metalheads.
And it worked, it worked so well that they began to support groups like Metallica, Red Hot, BMTH or Lady Gaga, I seem to remember, on their tours in Japan. And the Red Hot singer commented that he was impressed to realize that part of the public came to see them, not them.
And so the base of BabyMetal fans grew. Sakura was a group in which, upon turning 15, the members had to leave (to pursue their careers elsewhere) and the producer (KobaMetal) requested permission again to create BabyMetal as an independent group. Success was already beginning to become a reality in Asia, so they authorized it, although Moa and Yui (they were still 13 years old) would also continue to be part of other Sakura clubs (I don't know when the poor girls studied, but they did).
In 2014 a milestone would arrive in the group's history. They were already an established metal group in Asia that sold out concerts, but they had not yet made the leap to the West. In that year his song "Gimme Chocolate" rose to fame on UA-cam (currently 182M views) and attracted the attention of the producers of the Sonisphere festival. KobaMetal had doubts about taking the step, since their musical proposal (Kawaii Metal or Cute Metal, a genre of which they are considered creators) might not be accepted in the West and the metalheads who went to the Sonisphere had a reputation for saying goodbye to very bad manners to the artists they didn't like (even with bottles full of urine), but they were offered to go to one of the secondary stages (about 5000 spectators) and they ended up accepting.
But the success of BabyMetal on UA-cam and the fact that all the concerts they were going to give in Europe were sold out in a few days, convinced the producers to take them to the main stage, where they would share with groups like Metallica, for example.
How many girls (they were between 16 and 14 years old at that time) were "terrified" before going out, and they didn't know what scared them more: that they wouldn't understand their music and they would have to run away or that when they went out on stage it would be empty. .
But the story was very different, not only was it not empty, but more than 50,000 metalheads, an estimated 95% of whom had never heard of them, finished their fifth and last song chanting "another one, another one."
And that's how they achieved popularity in the West as well.
They currently have 4 albums on the market:
-Babymetal (2013): Their first album and the most childish of all, since they were between 15-13 years old when it came out and had energetic, positive music that left a smile on their faces.
-Metal Resistence (2016): an album that, without losing the essence of the first, shows more mature music, going from childhood to adolescence. Songs like Karate were a large part of his presentation in the West.
-Metal Galaxy (2018): a turning point in its style. Without abandoning their energy, they turned their attention to new forms of metal fusion (hip-hop, dance music, Hindu music or European folklore, among others), projecting a much more mature music in keeping with their age, which was already around 21 years old. of Su and the 18 of Moa (unfortunately Yui left the group due to health problems).
And now in 2023 they have just released their new album "The Other One", which is, again, totally different from what they have done until now (one of the hallmarks of BabyMetal is that their songs are usually very different some from others (although they are all positive adrenaline releases).
Currently BabyMetal is considered the most important Heavy Metal group in Japan (I'm not saying the best, that's for everyone to decide) and the most influential in history in the West (it has reached levels that no other Japanese heavy group has reached before). ).
The journey through the Babymetal galaxy may be long, but it is certainly entertaining and with a few songs it drags you with a smile into the fox hole

In this video the young lady on the right is known as an Avenger, she just dances. When one of the OG memebrs left citing health issues, they filled her spot with one of three ladies that just danced. The one of the left is Moa-Metal, she is refered to as screem/dance, think of her like a cheerleader. She does sing and in the past has done songs under the moniker "Black BabyMetal" as well as a few songs on Special occasions. The Lead singer is Su-Metal, she is song/dance. BabyMetal has been around since 2010 when Su was the ripe old age of 12, Moa and Yui (member who left) were 11. April of 2023 they finally added a third permenent member named Momo-Metal. She just turned 21 last month. I'm sure others will give you a lot ore details on the group.

I'm guessing a few comments have already addressed the kpop issue - enuf said. Don't do it again 😂. Great reaction to a unique group that's been going about 14 years roughly. They made their own genre pretty much and have been unique during all that time, tracks usually sound very different, they constantly surprise, they're generally WAY better live - but not "official" live often, as it can be track laid over a concert - they also tend to cut out any intros. There's just not enough superlatives to describe this group - but the wonderful positivity and energy and talent will always leave you with a smile on your face. Great reaction - and try going live (but not "official" unless suggessted :P) - they are a live band. I hope you get into this group - it really is astonishing - have fun :)

Nice reaction. Babymetal started in 2010. their first album came out in 2014. I humble suggest starting at the beginning of Babymetal and work your way to now. Babymetal is a journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music. Oh yes there is a whole galaxy of music in there. And it's still growing. First song Doki Doki Morning. This way you can grow with the group. Literally since they started out so young. From performing in shopping mall for free and borrowing cloths for shows to moving stages and performing in front of thousands. The foxhole is deep and full of surprises

Yes, and the theme is really just a spicy Papaya Salad. This qas always the planned way. It was aimply the result of some comparissons between ZS and European rock bands. They simply observed that female singers stayed understandable even against the hardest vackground. It is simply logical, a lotvof theirvfrequenciws are above the real frequencies of the instruments.
And when a Manager of Amuse suddenly realized that he was in charge of the kids program while he was in reality a metalhead. But he realized that in his opinion the japanese metal industry was stale. Mainly a male audience that got older year after year. And he simply wanted to bring something more into a mix. So he needed a very strong female voice and wanted to train her. When he first came to his managers with this udeas they blocked it since there was no money in metal. But after he was the lead director he was allowed a small side project, but this project got no money. Well he did not need real mony at first since he had direct control about Resources. And so when he went to his wanted singer forca long term project she got interrsted. But when he realized that they were in fact terrified of metal he started a long term project. First he went with them to metal concerts to discuss with them what he wanted from them. As a producer he knew that even their basic songs contained silent E-Guitars so he said to them Ok we start this approach i make you a special mix and we talk about it.
What was really happening, he learned with every step from them as well as they learned from him. They didn't really want to learn his music but he was so passionate about it... and he saw no real cornerstones with them as long as he talked with them. When they observed the devil signs in concerts and got excited because they thaught it were Kitsunes they delivered the foundations for the fox god mythology. They simply observed the girls and incorporated it into elements and step by step accidental elements got incorporated. If elemts were not planned "What dobthe girls say?". When he really needed Money they simply worked for him and opened Malls and Department stores. And they madecthem to small concerts. And so they started. What they learned early, you have to engage your audience, so their dancers became also the backgroundcsingers who simply taught the audience what they were expected to sing. If somehow the audience in this area does not behave as expected look them in the eye and show them what to do
. They really madevit to an Art Form in their European and US shows. They really train their audience this way. If they look you in the eye you start to do something that they might want you to do. I presume that in reality this was one of the important things for their overlong replacement time for Yui. On the one hand when Yui left a lot of fans went crazy. But when Momoko finally got to the new Metal in Apriö 2023 the general concencus was: She earned her place. But the other point was she had to watch Moa to engage the Audience like she did.
It all looks like accidentall hapenings but in reality like in New Yirk last year. The call out to the audience was sit down, but there were simply too many peopl You simpl, cant ask female guests to sit in the lap of a stranger or what shall elerly fans do? They might get down but when and where shall they get up. Su got really mad but Moa and Momo signalled thats ok, continue. And from then on the Call out changed to "Get low"
And in this performance we see F. Hero. A Thai Rapper Legend and when he visited them last year at their World Tour in Bangkok he mafe a plan. The result A collaboration with Bodyslam and Babymetal that he releasesd last month.

Nothing against k-pop but of all the genres coming out of Asia k-pop, while being 100 times better than Western-pop, is still one of the least interesting genres … if a petite Japanese girl growling will give you an aneurism, then stick with BABYMETAL and don’t go exploring other all female Japanese metal groups … you have been “warned” lol.

Nice reaction! By the way: There's no K(orean)-Pop out of Japan. That would be J-Pop, to be specific. Or you just call it "Pop" if you not sure at all.
P.S.: I (and many others) won't mind if you do a deep dive about BABYMETAL. And since you, virtually, can go with every of their songs you have many to chose from (four studio albums and countless live stuff so far). If you want to get a brief introduction into the phenomenon "BABYMETAL" there's a very recent and compressed guide into them, I can recommend: "The 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘰 Extensive Guide to BABYMETAL" ua-cam.com/video/aIb2xEthdSg/v-deo.html
P.P.S.: There's only one cemented rule when it comes to BABYMETAL: Expect the unexpected!
