On the first problem, I thought it was right to left. Why did he do (-11 + 6) first rather than (-2)??

because in the Parenthesis there was already a problem to be solved rather than just (-2)

I would first rewrite the expression as (-18/-2)(-11+6) which then reduces to 9(-5) = -45. Comments?
