I wish I had math teachers / Instructors throughout my education where I had to take math, that they actually took the time and explained things just like you do. I can't tell you that was one of the biggest challenges I had with math instructors. Thank GOD I came across your channel! You are AMAZING!! Thank you👍😃
I am a parent and I just want to say thank you!!! Your videos have helped him son so much. They are a lifesaver.Even his math teacher uses your in class.cant thank you enough 🙏
Im taking my math placement test tomorrow for 7th grade and was scrambling for a video to help me understand it more, this literally explained more in 8 minutes than my teacher did in 3 weeks worth! Thanks mr J!
You’re very welcome! I’m happy to hear the video was helpful. Good luck on your placement test and thank you for the comment!
You have been the ONLY person to help me understand math; my biggest fear since 7th grade! I am now 69 years old. You have no idea just how much this means to me. I wish you had books where I could practice what you teach. Thank you so very much. I have cried many tears trying to learn algebra. I knew I needed to go back to a certain grade to learn the instrumental lessons, but never could figure out where to start. My daddy, Bless his heart, would be so proud of me. If you ever make books to follow, I would love to buy them. Again, you have mo idea how much this is helping me with feeling ignorant.
Wow, thank you for sharing! You’re very welcome! I’m so happy to hear that the channel has been helpful. I’m also happy to hear that things are starting to click for you. That’s a great feeling. Thank you for taking the time right such a thoughtful comment. I appreciate the positive feedback. As far as books, no I do not have any. At some point, I would love to be able to do that, but I’m not sure if/when that time will come. Thank you again for sharing!
Wait is this satirical?
Your..your 69 years old??? Funny number 😂
your lucky your not that old

I was born in 1969. I suppose that's funny to you too, whoopersnapper. 👴Go easy on her. Back in my day we didn't have the fancy calculators they have now. We only had our fingers and toes and we were damn happy too!
For over thirty years I have struggled with this, but with your video it all became so crystal clear for me. How surreal is that? Finally, a teacher who does not slur in an expeditious manner just trying to crank out the problems. You took your time, spoke clear and concise, and still managed to turn this into a brief but effective video. Thank you.
Wow, thank you for taking the time to write that comment and the positive feedback! Much appreciated! I’m very happy to hear the video was helpful. That’s awesome. Thank you again for sharing!
Brother, you are doing such great work. Having not done any real math in a LONNNNNG time (35 years), this is such a HUGE HELP!
Thank You, Thank You, Thank YOU!
I’m sitting here trying to get my business license and ran into some Pemdas equations. I never thought I’d understand until I saw this video. Thank you!
Love doing these . Im 59yrs old and never got it at school 30plus years ago. Now in my Autumn years, im an expert thanks to Mr J.😊😊

Mr J is too Top G 🔥🔥🔥
My comment is not a critique of Mr. J but of the system of education that fails students in math. The order of operations is a simple notion that a big portion of our graduating seniors do not understand--I am speaking from experience. Acronyms like PEMDAS, FOIL, and alike are obscuring the mathematical reasoning where learning what the letters in an acronym mean is time spent wastefully if not harmfully. In my opinion the order of operations should be presented as follows. If there was no agreement on the relative priority of operations parentheses would have to be used for grouping. But that could cause a lot of clutter. Therefore mathematicians agreed that operations of higher complexity should have higher priority. The simplest operations are addition and subtraction therefore they should have the lowest priority. Next come multiplication and division and powers have the highest complexity. Knowing this, the order of operations can be explained simply as follows. The higher the complexity of operation the higher the priority, parentheses trump the priority. Saying it this way one can also see the reason for this convention. If in doubt, use parentheses.
The is true
I was just asking this question yesterday, why in this order, and this is so simple, thanks for the info, it all comes down to simplicity at the end of the day huh
@@CesarMartinez-nu3if I am so glad I could help! It is frustrating to see gimmicks prevailing in education.
@@mojiotroci1 it is the simplest of things that confuses people, I never fail to see that
@@CesarMartinez-nu3if The sad reality is when the so called experts (in this case math educators) hide their lack of knowledge of the subject by concocting complicated recipes in order to impress. Which is why they love acronyms.
you are truly a great teacher every time I start to feel lost in something I just watch a quick refresher, and boom! I'm right back at it. Thank you so much.
Thank you, Mr. J! These videos are so helpful for my students when working at home on assignments.

Hi Mr J! Can you do changing subject of formulas?
Thanks Mr.J 😊
Thank you sm! sir for the clear explanation about PEMDAS order🤞🧡✨
Excelente explicación 👏

Thanks this is helpful
Thank you Mr.J i have a big test on PEMDAS this week😁
Ty for helping me how to solve pmdas Mr. J i appreciate it☺️
PEMDAS and IN THAT ORDER! That is what i was taught in school! Parentheses followed by Exponents followed by Multiplication followed by Division followed by Addition followed by Subtraction!
Thank you very much ❤🎉
Excellent.!! You're helping my 10 years old girl..
Thank you!
Mr jay you are the best teacher in the whole world
Thanks this helped me a lot
Thank you sir.
Thanks for your favors.
You did it so clear tysm❤️❤️
I assume you're using a drawing pad to record these lessons, but can you give me some insight on what program you're using to draw on top of the chalkboard image, type the text, etc? I teach web development and would like to start doing something similar. I've been using a drawing pad just on a white canvas, but being able to do something more dynamic would be nice :)
Amazing teacher tysm!
Thank God no one used this math to do inventory. Where your math would show 13 cases of xyz mine would show 45.
I have 16 -3 layer cases of tomatoes, kitchen takes 5 cases while I am doing inventory, leaves 11, the cases have 3 layers, now I have 33 and the next cooler has 12 layers, total 45 layers of tomatoes. what am I missing here.
basic math skills
Thank you for helping my 11yr old excel in math!!
This guy teaches me more then my math teacher

Can you do this (PEMDAS) but it is 1.5 + 0.7 x 1/5 - 2/9? 1/5 and 2/9 are fractions?
Thanks a lot this help me understand everything thank you
I have a test tommrow this helped me and made me stop worrying about the test :D
Thx man

Thanks bro
Thank you you help me in my grade 5 math test
pemdas is really helpful
i LOVE U MR J
It's so really awesome 😎..🎉.. 🎂
What happens if the same thing happens in number one but like this (30 divided by 13)-8 = what will be the answer then
Bro he makes it look so easy
You help my child to learned in math
Please make a video on nth term
i am stating to get this thank you for everything Mr.J😁😆🤣
How do you solve when there's no sign after the number before the bracket? Say 7+3[10 (2•7-9)-30]🤦🏼♀️
Sir 30+13-8. Is it addition or subtraction. Please educate me. Thanks
Ty I’m in 5th grade and this really helps
I'm an grade 5 student who has the fear of math, not gonna lie I cried often in math class! 😂 But by just making this video you made me smile
I've been through these operations before..🎉
I came back to them cause l forgot this shows how important this topic really is lmfao😂
Sir, Can PEMDAS also written as PEDMAS.🤔🤔
Yup as multiplication and division have equal priority
i really pluh this
Not going to lie this video help I am taking the asvab soon but yea
plz help me with math mr j
❤
I hope i pass my examen bro
I was taught BIDMAS, which says division comes first!
BIDMAS would have given me .1333333 for the final question and not 30 ..seems like the teaching was all wrong, then?
Great question. Division and multiplication are of the same importance so to speak. They are the same priority. It doesn’t matter whether you put division or multiplication first in the acronym, either way, you go left to right if you have both.
Im really bad at maths cuz
im 19 and only got a grade 3 in my exam and my nan was giving me crap about it and accused me of not trying and called me dumb and im trying my hardest
