This is the type of talk you hear peak bubble. Was intelligently presented though and well balanced. Ultimately you will end up with a minuscule pool of buyers. Their tastes change and the market collapses.
Would love to see the Reardon collection sometime, just call it NFS, though it probably wouldn't help. Collectors are relentless!. I have a feeling the elephant is not on your shirt, its in that blue box, or they are in there. Also I know a collector who has the Pt 40th, the diamonds are the best Patek has ever done in my opinion, if you didn't know they were there you could miss them. Its my favorite 5711.
You can't lose what you never had! Better to miss out on the profit than to be left holding the baby once the market has crashed. I've just sold my 2 Rolex watches as there was some profit in them at this time. I'd never gained any real affinity for either of them & at 41mm, they're just too big for my wrist. I've now bought 4 watches that I've really wanted for a long time & I'm happy with that, the potential losses in selling the Rolex early, doesn't worry me in the slightest :) Enjoyed the vid....
Great Vid John ! I sold my aquanaut 5066 1a recently after 20 years of ownership .I loved it but bought a 5115 g and 3748/1 ( still have change left) The aquanaut still goes up! regrets no way!
I love your content but this clickbait of a title is quite unfortunate to see. Profit you missed out on most certainly is not money you "lost" - you lose money only if you sold something for less than what you paid for (including related expenses). I hope you'll fix this title.
Thanks for your comment and I agree with you. I didn't "lose" a penny and have the invaluable pleasure of working with some of the finest watches ever made. Please watch the whole video and I hope you see my point of view and please share yours!
You have eagle eyes and agree... Hungarian flag? I debated with friends way back when I had this if this was a mistake by Patek or maybe a diplomatic gift from Oman to Hungary? We may never know the truth for sure.
Great content as usual! Thanks for sharing. On the other hand for us that never can sell our watches we don’t have to regret not selling only not buying.
One way to think of it is that you actually lost no money. I am sure even at the price you sold you made money. I am sorry, I have trouble these days feeling sorry for anyone rich enough to afford watches like this not making even more on them because they sold them before prices shot up. Perhaps with the closure of many Russian oligarchs accounts Patek, one of the biggest pleasure producers for such seedy people might, along with other ultra high end companies have a wake up call. Sadly, knowing how the super rich hide money so well I doubt it will affect this segment at all. I have zero sympathy as a front line health care worker in Europe being completley exhausted from dealing with the pandemic and now facing Russians trying to trample their way into europe for any of these super rich "problems" but thank you, this has been a wake up call of how out of touch the wealthy really are with the real world! Unsubscribed!

Hi, John! It’s always a joyful experience getting to watch one of your clips. Keep up the good work effort.
The lesson from the perspective of a collector: buy what you love and enjoy.
That is the ultimate message! As a dealer, I also always follow that mantra. I only buy what I love because that is always the safest bet.
And look at the market now (Jan 2023). Pretty much every hype piece has had a price correction. Timing is everything and don't be too greedy.
Great video. Thank you.
Open the boxes! I'm curious what John is holding in the collection

i wish i bought my grail 5712 for 80,000 two years ago. tis a shame.....
Bought it at 23k€ 13 years ago… but Who cares ? ;-)
Hey John , what's are your thoughts on the 7234 and the 5524 ? Do you think it will be a most desired watch in the near future ?
Least you enjoyed them while you owned them 🇬🇧✌️
I lost over a billion dollars not buying bitcoins early enough 😂
There will always be someone doing a better deal than the one you just made…
Be happy with what you have, the profit you made and don't look back.

Very enjoyable! I’m not sure I am at liberty to sell anything as patek is sure to blacklist me 😝
The coin watches were a missed opportunity!
Not making money is a lot different than losing money…… You know how much money I lost buy not buying bitcoin 10 years ago
1:35 this is not a Omani flag...

Love listening to your presentations. Keep them coming!!!
I feel your pain John! But I'm not going to make the same mistake again.
There is an Elephant in the room alright hahaha. Love your videos and your Jumper John!
5711-1/P that is the grail watch. Not the TIffany dial =/
