An urgent message from Yanis Varoufakis, on behalf of MERA25 Germany, our German political party, emphasising the need for a principled stance in Germany amidst current European crises.
With Europe facing challenges from the ongoing genocide in Gaza, to climate change and geopolitical tensions, the role of Germany has never been more pivotal. Yet, the response has been lackluster, to say the least, highlighting a broader European failure that MERA25 is determined to address.
To do this, we need your support to gather signatures so that MERA25 can be on the ballot in Germany for the European elections in June.

The thing that I see now is that Germany is at the start of a long decline. Where is it all going? Well, going by past events in the previous century, if Germany goes down in a financial meltdown, the rest of Europe will go down with it, and all the catastrophe that would come along with that.

why does Mera sound like America? And why is Yanis (a person who I trust) all of a sudden advocating for an americanized Germany when he was Greek in his entire life and when Germany are actually the ones who have bankrupted Greece? His message is consistent even though "changing" sides. In his PoV Greece was the first to fall, and so did some other countries, and Germany's next on the list or line
I always wanted to see Europe thrive and cruise through tough times as these ones and be a catalyst for a better world, but sadly, that remains a dream for another day
Now IDK what "Americanisation" of Europe would do but we better all admit that reindustrialisation, supporting traditional means of production like farms are perhaps more crucial than ever

This is the wrong path. You should instead try to form allegiances with existing small parties such as VOLT, PdH (Party of humanists), BSW (Alliance Sara Wagenknecht) or the Pirate Party. I am sure one of them can get behind your ideas of a UBI, tax union and social-centralization of money creation. I guess Sara Wagenknecht is the most promising for your anti-war and leftist stance.
