The biggest downside to this game for me is the length of matches. HotS was a great moba on its own merits, but the fact that games were almost always around 20 minutes was a big plus.
I'll play em for ya and you can watch it on 2x the speed. :)
Facts, I used to play mobas a lot as a teenager and the reason I was so hesitant to even try this is coz MOBAs are one of the only genres of games where I feel like I’m playing basketball as a child again, know I’m going to lose, and just look up and see there’s 20 minutes left on the clock 😂 maybe not that exactly but it’s that feeling. Oh I’m gonna lose yet there’s so much left. That sucks in any game and I play fighting games now very possible coz if you win or lose a round is counted in seconds not minutes. I think I won a game in 15 minutes yesterday tho we steam rolled so hard so idk that’s promising.

I think the camps give the team souls, it’s worth breaking boxes/golden idols at 3 minutes as well for permanent buff drops

Is it always preferable to get his 1 first? I want to think the 3 for lifesteal can help sustain you if you get matched against dps heavy heroes.
The sustain is a long cd, can def play it, but the q gives you more brawl potential. Honestly going q into W is probably the play. Regardless, he pops off harder mid game when he gets his ult, so do whatever you can to survive the early game.
I’ve found Q being most useful early. Makes it so people cant go unpunished for pushing too far up. A nice way to utilize it, is going on top of the bridge to get extra dmg, and then dash away if Its just for poke. A thing i would say is that Its important to level up Q twice ASAP for that sweet knock up! i normally go 1-1-2-1-4-2-4-4-3-3-3-2
Also, if you dont have extra charge on 2, it has such a long cooldown, so Its better to take that as 3rd spell, so you can buy bullet items First and then the extra charge

Smite suffers a bit from being quite old too (more than a decade)
It's gone through many, many, many different iterations
At one point you could do, more or less, anything you wanted on any champ
And at one point Time to Kill was actually pretty long
It's not that game anymore though lol, it's pretty straight and narrow in how you can play it
Definitely very restrictive, very bursty, very lategame and hyper-earlygame focused
Some people really like that, but I agree that I'm not wild about it
My main problem with Smite is that it launcher is (or at least was) a malvare. It was stealing my internet when I had a strict traffic limit, without me launching it and without it notifying me. It was doing that long after I uninstalled Smite, because apparently you needed a special program to uninstall their launcher.
