I used farm diesel, rinse the crap out of it mine still had crud coming out, luckily I had that filter. If you use anything besides diesel just make sure it is completely dry
Well it’s only a quarter at the tank opening the I have a reducer converting it to 3/8. It flows great the way it’s set up. I run my tank down to a quarter then flip it on and keep driving. Takes roughly 4 hours to fill back up while driving
@@gingerhotshot (4) hours to fill.... Turning it on? So you have to stop and turn the valve on? Or do you leave it on and it fills itself? Or do you have to manually turn it off and on? Thanks!
Can't beat that price. Great build and install.
Good job my guy👍
might need to support more of the bottom than just those little feet
800lbs of fuel will push the floor of the tank onto the bed
Very good point honestly I should do this
@@mattanderson1434 other guys use old conveyor belt or solid rubber floor mats
Yeah, you can get those large rubber mats from tractor supply to set it on.
Rubber washers are supposed to go under the bed on the nut side.
You might have a bit of a kink up top too.
Is that tank vented?
Yes, I fixed those, I don’t believe so, I haven’t had any issue I think it breathes through the cap
You should paint White, to reflect Sunlight and Heat, less evap, safer, Black is going to trap heat like 10x, big mistake
I see what your saying, I just wanted it to match the truck
It’s diesel, ain’t gotta worry to much about evap
Brother, what did you rinse and wash out the inside with?? I got a used one as well and looks dirty inside. Thanks

@@mattanderson1434 Got it, Thanks!
Look into POR-15
Where you get the filter from. Got a RDS transfer tank 45gal on my F250. Would like to add the filter to it
Got it off Amazon, I suggest the WEX filter
@@gingerhotshot could you provide me with a link by any chance ?

Here you go, it looks like they might be out of stock in this 4 pack but they should have some similar ones as well
What keeps the fuel not to over fill main tank?
A proper air lock, may not work on all trucks. I always ran to a 1/2 tank then flipped it on and my fuel tank would just stay at 1/2 as I drove
Bro with a little bit of research and patience, you could have done this way smoother. Especially with the plumbing.
Worked pretty well for me but thanks for your input
How fast does it flow with only 1/4”?

Teflon tape with diesel huh 🤔
It’s diesel specific
Comes with the kit
That in filter is junk, it gets plugged real easy do yourself a favor and trash it bro
With the amount of shit it catches I’m glad to have it, although I upgraded to the wix and it does flow better
@@gingerhotshot yeah those little glass filters clogged up real fast on me, was changing em like twice a week
Which wix filter?
