A little detail I noticed from this is when Nick was talking about Kevin leaving the group. He said "We had to make two albums by ourselves." I'm so touched by his way of phrasing that. ONE member left a five member group. Four guys were still there being BSB. That's a solid majority. But Kevin was so important to Nick's idea of what the Backstreet Boys ARE, that instead of saying "two albums without him," he said "by ourselves." Like they felt so left alone, you'd think there were only two members left instead of four. That's how you know that each member of the group is THAT important. If one leaves, the empty space that member leaves feels absolutely massive to the rest of the group.

Adding up to the fact that with the uncertainty at hand, they never knew if any other would ever leave later on.
Brian admitted he immediately fell on negation, "I thought he was joking" being that HE was the one who extended the invitation to him. Also, Kevin's intervention on AJ was what made him realized he was touching bottom and wake up.
With these kind of things in mind, I feel like if any other member had left would've been an impact on the rest, but being Kevin the one who left hit different for all of them and was surely meaningful cause he was seen as the elder brother.

I agree completely. I saw this interview around the time their new album featuring all five again was coming out and Kevin stated that he gave them permission to record the two albums without him and to not feel bad about it

Frick & Frack 🥰 These guys deserve so much respect. They defied all the odds, they could've easily been a flash in the pan like all other boybands from that era, and yet they're still going strong after almost 30 years. Incredible. Also these two might've had their ups and downs over the years but you can tell they genuinely care for each other.
Feel so bad for Brian and his vocal problems. Gotta be so difficult. But he has risen to the challenge and has worked hard on it. ❤️
He should just hang up his mike. He’s suffered permanent vocal damage and it will only get worse as he gets older.
Especially because he had the best voice, is a soprano and lead most of their songs in their heyday

They really are the best boyband that has ever existed. Next year it'll be 30 years of them being a band. I saw them in Cologne last week and I seriously hope that they'll be back next year for their 30th anniversary. It was the best concert of my entire life and I've been to a few.

I have noticed that Brian is very articulate, he never mumbles jumbles his words, always precisely spoken with depth and meanings.
Singing or speaking, I could listen to Brian all day. He is the one I possess the deepest affinity for.
I mean I'd hope that a grown man would be articulate. He isn't a kid anymore

Brian’s struggle with his dysphonia breaks my heart. Can you imagine?
YES. I CAN and it SUckS. I lts also called Laryngeal Dystonia, which is involuntary muscle movements, in this case the vocal cords. I Have a very rare type of Dystonia that's Genetic and it's Generalized meaning the whole body. I just realized because of Brian THIS us why my voice has been hoarse off n on over the last like 2 years and I haven't figured out why. It's so frustrating cuz I can't even sing to like Taulor Swift songs, Or raise my voice or pitch frequently
Remainds in 90s he sang dancing and move with great so who would thought that he has cogenital heart and need to sugary immediately
Maybe he look like soft gentle figure but he is strong. He not give up

I've been following BSB since the very beginning. I grew up in the "*Nsync vs BSB" generation and for all the years that I had *Nsync posters on my bedroom walls and even my ceiling, BSB is #1. I never would've thought back then that I'd still be listening to these guys create new music when I'm pushing 40. Love these guys!
I flew to Sacramento to see them in Concert with my childhood friends of over 25 years. Best time ever!! Respect to all of them for staying together for so long. Not a lot of bands can say that.

I love these guys. Fan since day one. I loved how them came together when Brian started having vocal issues. He’s had such a journey, but he’s so strong. He never gave up and still continues on to this day even if his voice is not like it used to me. ❤
Love them and saw them live for the first time last week! And I've been a fan for 22 years! Best concert I've ever been to! Without Kevin it would not have been the same or without any other member of the group. These 5 belong together.

I wanna share my BSB story.
When I first saw them singing Quit Play in Games with my Heart I automatically fell in love with Nick Carter. Then I saw them on Eat Bulaga, local noon time tv show here in Philippines, and I can't take my eyes off of Nick. Got a lot of posters of them in my room hanging on the wall. Every week I went to the city and I'll never forget to buy a "song hits magazine", where their faces were the cover. I told my little brother that Nick was my boyfriend and almost all of my classmates in high school knew that Nick was my boyfriend 😁
I even wrote him a letter and wanted to fax it to him but I had no access at that time.
I've got my best friend because of BSB. I simply just showed to her my song mag and told her about them. Her bias was Howie D and he's her husband too lol!

I'm going to meet my friend this 30th for our High School reunion and BSB will be having their 30th Anniversary! Long live BSB! ♥️🥰

I was on Monday in Mannheim on the BSB- Concert. It was so great, wondeful, nice, cool and funny! Nick is still my favourite BSB- boy! He' s just 2 years older than me!

I had a similar experience like you did!! Saw them for the first time when I was 11 years old with the same song and I fell in love with Kevin. He was then my boyfriend and my husband later. Lol … and I still love all of them to this date. They are awesome!!

Backstreets back alright!!! OMG, this made me smile throughout!!! I absolutley LOOVE them!!! Truly the BEST boy band EVER bar none!!!! I just love how they are in fact brothers and they have so much love and respect for each other and their dedication to the craft is phenomenal!!! I was quite young when BSB were around in their early days so had no idea the age range of all of them. 13-22 years old when they first started! had no idea Nick (and I think AJ) were so young when they joined!
