The wife and I have a cat named Stifler. I took him to the vet on my way to work one day. My wife, who works from home, went to get him that afternoon. When she told the girl at the front desk who she was there for the girl picked up the phone and called to the back that, "Stifler's mom is here". My wife said she could hear the laughter from the back office.
i think band camp and the others are good as well. I will admit the story is less important in them and its all about entertainment and raunchy for the sake of it.
@@D1a350 Band Camp is 1000% the best of all the spin offs, the rest went away from Raunchy Homme-Coms of like nerds and losers and were like Jack ass frat bro wannabies. But Band Camp with lil Stifflers still quite good. Sadly the female reboot with Girl stiffler was awful because the actress for girl stiffler Lizzie Broadway is fantastic in GenV and probably the best character in that. And the films probably better then beta house but nothing on even the likes of band camp.
American Pie 2 is highly underrated and it's a very good sequel. One of my favorite comedy movies of the 2000s. Also, PLEASE watch the full series. American Wedding is funny and good, but American Reunion is an absolute banger. Trust me, please finish the series.
American Wedding gave us one of the best movie scenes ever and possibly my favourite "Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth? Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth"
American Pie is the only raunchy teen type movie to actually evolve into more serious movies with fleshed out relationships. You start to care about the characters. And I love Jim's ongoing father-son moments with his dad. He's a bit confused, but he never judges his son, even for a second.
I had my doubts that these movies would hold up but god they are even funnier than I remembered. Such a good series and Sean William Scott deserved a bigger career.
Others have already confirmed Wedding, Reunion are the only necessary watches. I'm just adding that Wedding might actually be my favorite of the franchise. I think its got the best balance of raunchy comedy and sweet, emotional (at least for this franchise ha) moments.
@@Ratovx Naked Mile and Beta House easily beat Reunion. They removed the heart, reconned character stuff and underwrote some big scenes. The Erik Lindsey written films did none of that 😎🇬🇧
I think the trick with Jim's dad is that he means well every time, and that authenticity beats the embarrassment. They're all great films and somehow manage to keep the story beats running without fail.
American Wedding is 100% worth watching. Same with Reunion. The 4 movies from the franchise are all great. I prefer 'Wedding' to 'Reunion' because it feels like the movie that takes the step to being a bit more mature with things that happen in life. Reunion is good, but something about Wedding was just funnier and flowed better in my eyes.
I saw in an interview with Ryan Cranston talking about about his role in Malcolm in the Middle and said the key to playing a role like that in such a comedic show was that he had to play it as straight as hey could. The more seriously he took all the scenes and situations the more funnier the stuff he did becomes. I think Jim's Dad in this is another shining example of that. Especially him blowing up in the ER to defend his son lol
American Wedding and then Reunion. Those other movies are not worth the watch, although first ones were funny and raunchy at times (Band Camp and the Naked mile).
American Wedding and Reunion are both worth watching.. I would love to watch you guys react to Role Models.. Its starring Paul Rudd, Christopher Mintz-Plasse (McLovin from Superbad) and Seann William Scott (Stiffler). It's hilarious and im sure you guys would enjoy it very much.
jim has the most supportive dad. i love him. hes embarassing but hes just so helpful and earnest and supportive. and he really wants his son to have the knowledge he needs when a lot of parents wont talk about these things.
Honestly you guys are by far my favourite reaction channel. Your laughs and other emotional responses are so genuine and you always seem like great, down to Earth people I'd love to watch movies with! Please keep 'em coming :)
Fun fact, the EMT that helped Jim to the ambulance was played by Joseph Reitman who was engaged to (or dating, I don’t remember) Shannon Elizabeth at the time of filming. Divorced now though
The spinoff's of American Pie are kind of underrated because they are essentially more of the same with other characters connected to the extended universe of the series, but that lack of innovation is held against them a bit more than for the main series stories.
Eugene Levy's dry comic delivery gets even better when Catherine O'Hara's mania is also in the movie: Christopher Guest's satirical trilogy of _Waiting for Guffman_ , _Best in Show_ , and _A Mighty Wind_ skewers community theater, competitive dog shows, and folk music groups respectively. If you've seen _Schitt's Creek_ and liked it, you will probably like those movies.
American Pie 2 was the best one. Was a classic with family and friends. Wedding and Reunion are better than expected. Although I prefer Reunion over Wedding. Wedding is kind of that guilty pleasure of the franchise.
Do not watch any of the “direct to video” entries. They’re just studio cash grabs. Go right from wedding to reunion, that’s the proper order. There are 4 American Pie films
Movies like American Pie 1 & 2, Can't Hardly Wait, 10 Things I Hate About You, Superbad, etc., inspired an entire generation of house parties, party jokes, party etiquette, all kinds of wholesome debauchery, along with summer/holiday trips/activities. Even further back, we had movies like Animal House, Bachelor Party, and Revenge of the Nerds. I almost feel bad for the current generation, cause they don't really have anything kinda wholesome like that to inspire them. Which is why I think the 80's/90's vibe is making a comeback in movies and shows.
My introduction to Hamilton, Ontario's own Eugene Levy came in the 1983 movie Splash (a classic). Though Levy has an extensive body of work, the movies he co-wrote with Christopher Guest are truly amazing. Waiting for Guffman (1996), Best in Show (2000), A Mighty Wind (2003), and For Your Consideration (2006) are all worth checking out.
The two remaining MAIN American Pie movies that follow the original cast are Wedding and Reunion. Wedding I felt was a bit of a weaker entry, as also a lot of characters from the previous two were missing, but Reunion was back to form, getting almost everyone back and giving some kind of closure for everyone. Everything else are straight to DVD spin-offs.
"Do we not know his name?" Jim's Dad is the wholesome glue that holds the franchise together, delivered perfectly by Eugene Levy. Look for him in most of the direct-to-dvd/streaming spin-off movies. He always has some helpful advice to share, even if the timing is... inopportune
Simple rule of thumb with the American Pie series of films: If it doesn't have Jason Biggs in a lead role, DO NOT waste your time with them. There were 5 Direct-to-DVD cash grabs that are just so unfunny it's actually a little shocking.
Actually after American Wedding there are several "American Pie" franchise spin offs, but they all have a connection to the world, and then also Jim's Dad in them. First is American Pie Band Camp, which follows Stiflers little brother (from this movie) for a summer. Then there's American Pie Naked Mile, which follows another Stifler, a cousin of the originals, who is dealing with the fact that the family legacy, all Stiflers are wild party animals, seems to have skipped him, he's a quiet kid and a virgin. Its about him visiting another Stifler cousin at College, this cousin is in the typical "party frat" and is school Drinking Champion, so a typical Stifler, and participating in a naked mile run they have, hence "The Naked Mile". Next movie is American Pie Beta House, it follows the same characters from Naked Mile, but now the non-Stifler main character is going to college and he joins his cousin's frat. Its about a competition between Frat Houses, etc. Then I believe there's one more spin off.... but its so dogshit even I haven't seen it.... I think its completely new kids that find the sex manual Kevin uses from Pie 1, but I don't really remember. Then American Reunion. Honestly, Wedding and Reunion are certainly worth watching, but the others are a mixed bag. Band Camp is ok, Naked Mile is actually pretty good, Beta House is meh at best, that last one obviously I don't know..... so really, its up to you guys, but if you just do the big 4, I doubt anyone would blame you.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Eugene Levy makes these movies lol His level of dry cringe is unmatched. Period. Perfectly encapsulates every awkward parent talk to ever exist and it brings those memories back in such a vivid way lol These movies make me cry laugh so damn hard it's unreal.
My favorites in these films is Eugene Levy (Jim's dad) and (Michelle) Alyson Hannigan, their characters are not only LOL hilarious the delivery and timing is a thing of perfection. I would pay big money to see those two in a long scene just bantering back and forth.
American Wedding and American Reunion are definitely hilarious and you should watch as it continues the overarching storyline. The other American Pie movies as you noted are just a completely different cast except for Eugene Levy. I believe it follows the story of Stiffler’s younger brother. They aren’t too good.
Don’t worry about the American Pie Presents series; those were all direct to video and wildly lower quality than the four theatrical films. Just finish the quadrilogy with American Wedding and American Reunion.
My friends and I (all in high school when this movie came out) still shout "don't forget your penis cream" out a car window when we are in public together and one of them gets out of the car 🤣🤣🤷♂️
The American pie series is fucking wonderful but it kind of gives me that sad nostalgia. The first movie came out when I was in elementary school the second movie came out when I was in Middle School the third one came out when I was in high school and the reunion came out to wrap up my childhood forever. And now it's been over 10 years since the damn reunion

You now have to continue on with American Wedding (3rd American Pie movie) and American Reunion (4th American Pie movie). You can ignore the spin-off movies without losing anything story-wise.
8:08- The shot of the Twin Towers in the background reminds you how old this movie is! Well, that and the general humor and genre of raunchy comedy that BARELY gets made anymore (2023 TRIED with "No Hard Feelings", but it failed)... 🤔

Wedding is definitely my favourite, Reunion is fun as well. The American Pie Presents- movies you can skip. I remember liking Naked Mile and the one after that, but I don't know whether they're actually funny or it's because I was 16 when I watched them
American Wedding and American Reunion are worth watching, the others are straight to dvd spinoffs. Always thought these movies had very underrated soundtracks.
"This summer it's all about sticking together. One last summer hurrah kinda thing, before college?" As I say to myself ... "Oh just you wait and see, George. I'm sure you'll get it."
While agree with the people saying the main four films are worth watching, as someone who's watched all of the 'Amwrican Pie Presents' films, I can say that they also have their moments.
American Wedding and Reunion are the ones worth watching. Until 2012, the American Pie series as a trilogy with some small straight to DVD movies that are "American Pie Presents". American Wedding is the next one to watch, and it is of the same caliber as the first two. I would say American Pie 2 is my favorite of the 4 main movies, but they are all very entertaining and fun.
3 is good, 4 and 5 doesn’t have the original characters but Jim’s dad is in them and they’re pretty decent from what I can remember. Oh and of course you gotta watch Reunion.
Personnally I think both American Wedding and American Reunion are worth watching (They are the real sequels, the others are low quality spin offs). I did not like Reunion at first but it grew on me as I watched it again. But let's be clear, it's not as funny as the other three. Wedding also is not really as good but it's still very solid.
never understood the problems after the super glue or the hospital when i played with super glue as a kid if fingers got stuck together mum or my cousin would get out the nail polish remover and that stuff eats it away like it was never there
There's like 3 movies that use the American Pie name but has a whole other cast. I believe Eugene Levy is in them all but that's it. They're alright but are American Pie in name only. They kind of went for kind of a National Lampoon/80s raunchy movie kind of vibe.
Hooray! Second part! There are four canonical American Pies, You saw one and two, then there's Wedding and then there's Reunion. That's what you should totally watch. AP Presents are spinoffs, some better then others, people usually pick Naked Mile as the best of them, I personally don't like any. Yet this four are a must.

Wedding and Reunion are hilarious and worth the watch. The spin offs tried to capitalize on the name but not as good.
Eugene Levy is a king of comedic timing and deadpan delivery lol I remember watching him on SCTV in the 90's
Wedding and Reunion are just as good as the first two.
I'd choose Alyson Hannigan over Shannon Elizabeth any day of the week, and twice on sundays
