- So many of you have been asking me to test out iPad Pro gaming with a controller... so I went to my nearest Apple store and picked up an Xbox controller and went to town! In this video I demonstrate how to connect a controller to you iPad or iPad Pro via bluetooth and test Minecraft, Call of Duty Mobile, PUBG and Fortnite in order to see just how effective the controller really is with iPadOS gaming.

Hey, this is a dream for customers. Imagine when Microsoft gaming goes all on iOS App Store? Every game now in millions of smartphones and tablets? This is going to be awesome.

While Microsoft Office has been a big seller since the first Apple Store (and even before Apple started their own stores), I get what you’re saying and I wish more of the games built for Windows were ported to iOS/MacOS.
The iPad Pros were outpowering intel-MacBooks for years (but less RAM, better iGPU than MacBook, not as good as discrete GPUs for MacBook Pro but was still able to render 4k Video from editing faster), so it’s going to be very interesting now that Apple has announced they are transitioning to using the iPad line of processors in their laptops over the next two years. Makes sense to port games that will run on iPad and MacOS natively. I saw some retro game emulators running on iPad Pros... the system is a beast, with more power than the Tegra+ SoC in a Switch.

DarkFuze I’m a controller player but cod mobile with controller is really bad. The aiming is just terrible and that’s coming from someone who’s actually above average on modern warfare

I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.

It's great with games like Ocean Horn 2, Cat Quest, Platformers etc. Personally I don't play multiplayer games but Apple Arcade has a lot of nice stuff for controllers.
Brawndo I tested Apple Arcade for some week. Great idea, but I feel it lacks of multiplayer games, as there very few of them. Is it? Or is there something I’m missing?

Nice. I use a Logitech f310 to minecraft. You get used to it and become proficient with it after a short while. Only way to play on the big tab otherwise you have to keep moving your hand back and forth to reach things in the center.

I got the DualShock PS4 controller and it’s works flawlessly. It’s a bit tricky to sync up to the iPad Pro but there’s several UA-cam videos out there to help.

What really makes this awesome is with Microsoft's project xcloud you can play xbox games on the go
Just and advice for whomever is thinking about this regarding Fortnite gaming, sure new phones might have 120 fps or 60 fps but the controller delay is pretty bad (as a controller player myself on pc and ps4) its very noticeable especially for editing. building is doable but the editing and hitting flick shots is very difficult.
Its cool how you can use this like a tv or a moniter or a computer
7:53 If you turn the graphics setting on highest, the iPad Pro can definitely compete with XB1 and PS4. Also, if you chose to turn the graphics quality to medium or lower, you can play at 120 FPS with the 120 Hz screen, which isn‘t possible on console at all.

Got one of these last week and started using with my xbox controller, it's so smooth and the graphics are just insane, genuinely prefer playing fortnite on the ipad rather then the telly now

Wow just watching this makes me want an ipad even more. Im just wondering if older games like dead trigger would work with an xbox controller. All I had was a moga controller back then that barely worked for maybe 2 games. This seems like it has the potential to be similar to switch maybe better.

@@Deuteriumaddict it does make sense. He's saying turn the Chunks down (how much of the world renders in viewing distance. E.g. I think 1 chuck is about 16 blocks). So if you turn the Chunks down you'll 120fps
Is it me or for some reason playing minecraft on any ipad performs very poor im talking 25-30 fps. Even with its a12x beast it still performs horrible compared to their iphones.

Best choice I’ve done, IPad Air to do any stuff for school with good notes, watch Netflix, play simple games, play cool games with controller and play serious with controller an connection to my TV via HDMI, and if bored draw something with the pencil, do Office stuff on the monitor oder connect my keyboard to do it one the couch share everything via AirDrop with my phone worth the money

To be honest, I bought a dualshock4 for the iPad, but the quality of the games in the app store is very disappointing, despite of the power the A12X has on the iPad Pro 3rd gen. I am looking for a nintendo switch as a mobile gaming device.

You can also get permanently banned doing that. Pub g doesn’t allow controller support for a reason. Just warning you ahead of time so you know why you got banned when it happens.
I actually happen to know what's not allowed. You CAN play with a controller (with a keymapping app). You CAN'T use mouse and keyboard AND bypass emulator detection, that'll get you banned. You can however, still use mouse and keyboard if the device is detected as an emulator.
I love playing on my iPad pro, but I'm still waiting for games to take advantage of the "Xbox one S graphics" they promised 💯👌🏽
