I have the P35X V3 (same thing but 15 inch and has 980m) and I honestly love it... It's light and portable I take it to school all of the time. Battery life is great. I don't notice any bleeding. You can change the fan speed if it's too loud for you from absolutely silent to low speed and max speed. I have a light hand when it comes to typing so I never even notice the flex unless I'm pressing down hard on it. I personally love the look of it, every other gaming laptop screams at you with color and flashy design to make sure that it let's everyone else know that you're a gamer and I hate that. I prefer this low key gaming, sleek black look way more. The only 2 things that I don't like about it is the trackpad and the speakers. Trackpad is terrible do not expect to game on it at all. Its barely okay with working on it but it'll probably frustrate you at times. I take a mouse with me a lot so when I have the space I use it. Speakers are not great either, but I use headphones a lot so it doesn't bother me that much. So that being said I still love this thing, it fits my needs perfectly. And if you think it fits yours too and you then think about getting it.

Just in case anyone is interested, I have the Gigabyte P34G V1 (which is the same laptop just older) with an i7 and 760m and I HIGHLY recommend Gigabye. In my experience the build quality is very good. The keyboard is solid, the screen is amazing (I have the same IPS 1080p screen), the hinges are stout and the screen doesn't wobble, the matte finish is great, the touchpad is good, etc. The battery is okay, but for a gaming ultrabook you can't beat this! The built in overclocking and fan control software is very nifty as well. Overall this is an amazing product at a reasonable price and has been very reliable for almost two years now. When I upgrade again I will definitely be getting another Gigabyte! I have had other gaming laptops in the past and this is by far my favorite, mainly because it is so good for everything including casual gaming. This would most likely have been my main laptop had a not gotten the Y500 so recently. I really like that it has VGA, mainly because I feel like I'm the only one who relies on it for a while.
I hate it when non-engineers lose sight of how flexibility is an important part of durability. Flex can indicate build quality but it is not the rule. Here is a simple test you can do to educate yourself about how flexibility helps durability drop a glass and a rubber ball if you watch the result you will grow brain cells.
So... thinking of buying the Gigabyte P55w without the ODD (who uses discs these days). But SADLY there are only 2 reviews on youtube... P55W and please tear it apart while you have it.... very curious about the single fan cooling in the P55w vs the dual setup in the P35 line... hmmm. LINUS WE NEED YOU!
Bought this laptop, replaced the thermal paste = no throttling :) Monster of a laptop - the fans can be loud so often, if it's a game that isnt cpu dependant, ill underclock the cpu to 2ghz (plenty for most games) with intel xtu and it not only runs cooler and quieter but it allows more freedom for the gpu to boost which actually results in better framerates in games. It's just a laptop that is at it's best if you like to manually tell it how to behave.
***** most laptops have 2 usb + headphone/mic jacks . more premium quality also have some extra connectivity , but nothing major . way less than 10 usb ports and still very useful . a mouse is pretty much standard unless you like to punish yourself , also if you carry a laptop you probably will need to plug in a usb too . that is 1 more usb than mac offer , and that is the bare minimum . if you dont use mouse/usb then you could use your phone instead of a laptop . apple is becoming shittier by the day , and that is good because apple fans always found shitty excuses to justify the ridiculus premium they pay . not anymore , macs are just expensive bricks and you cant justify them no matter what
The thing is... Why does it have to be smaller. If I'm going to use a notebook I will be bringing a bag anyway. Weather it's a cm (or inch for you cuties who haven't adopted the metric system yet and still claims I stole your soul when I flash you with my camera) thinner or not doesn't matter to me. If I'm bringing a bag it's the same to me if it's 0.5 cm or 2 cm thick. It just doesn't matter to me. As long as it's not small enough for my pocket you can make it as large as you want to as long as it fits in my bag. Sacrificing cooling, noise level and increasing the price of it in order to use better and more expensive engineering is just not something I see as a benefit. Not that I would ever by a laptop... but if I did I wouldn't brag about "Ohh pardon me mates but yo arses just got roasted seeing that my laptop is 0.5 cm thinner than yours". I'd much rather have a thicker one and be able to ramp up some games without having an f18 taking off in my friends living-room. Weight I get... again also to a certain point since I don't mind it weighing a bit if it means it's packing some serious hardware and metal casing, but making them smaller and smaller and thinner and thinner doesn't matter to me as I still use the same freaking bag that houses up to 17.3 inches and my other bag that houses up to 15.5 inches but more importantly. None of them gives a crap if it's 0.5 cm thicker or thinner. It just seems like they always sac the keyboard feel, noise lvl, hardware, upgradability and accessibility in order to perfect something that doesn't really flippin' matter. Anyway. Those are just my 2 cents. Let me know what you guys think :) cheers //NonLaptopPcMasterRace
I got fed up with my 3kg, 4cm thick laptop tbh. Taking it to a course then wanting to go around the city centre I ended up having to go back to the hotel first so I wouldn't have to lug it around in my single shoulder strap bag, which was annoying. And I'd rather not have to take the big laptop rucksack. I agree, no point in tiny laptop screens (I replaced it with another 15.6") especially for gaming, but I'd jump at the chance for a really light one. But my new 2.5kg one is probably the same situation. This seems like the sort of thing where it's all just poor compromise until the technology leaps forward significantly. But like you say, with sufficient cooling rather than ultra slim. Maybe with Broadwell they could make a nice compromise where it's lighter but not ultra thin, leaving some cavity inside for cooling.
PPX14 yeah but that's what I wrote. I understand weight if you log it around a lot. I mean... I work as a gym coach and do A LOT of sports so I'm in amazing shape and always lug around a big backpack and never walk long, so not a big problem, but I def see an advantage in less weight. but the thickness... meh
ScrattleGG Yeah I'm quite weak as carrying it around in one arm showed me. Going from playing football/carrying a massive school bag every day to the sedentary university life for 4 years clearly took its toll :P
Honestly, I use a $1100 with an 860m, 250 GB MSATA SSD, and a 1TB HDD, 8 GB RAM, something that does light gaming on the go, and productivity. When I go home, I'll use a ~$2000 X99 setup with Dual 970s, 16GB DDR4, 500 GB SSD, i7-5820k. I get something to take around to do light gaming at coffee shops on the go, while also taking it to meetings, and then a setup at home that goes for the absolute bang for the buck setup (something laptops don't even come close to).
And that laptop is not ridiculous? Colored keyboard, kinda looks like cheap gray alien piece of junk to me. I hate gaming stuff that looks "cool", looks more like toys to me. Does anyone know a laptop that looks clean and made of quality materials?
What type of gaming should I expect to do with this system? Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 CPU: AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 32nm Technology RAM: 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 805MHz (11-11-11-28) Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Vulpus You can play games like Metro Last light and Elder scrolls online at like mid and most games before 2013 will run in high but the latest ones like the witcher 3 or batman you might get low on them or can't run it.
These gaming laptops with leafblower coolers are awful. What's the point of buying one to take it places when it's just going to be as loud as a vacuum cleaner.
***** It's not me that's the problem, it's the person next to me that has to deal with the hair dryer fan. That is the point of a gaming laptop right? To take it places? If I'm going to sit in my room alone I'll just use my desktop. Yeah if you use it alone in a hotel room while traveling it also wouldn't matter. But I don't understand the appeal of a cheap flimsy plastic laptop that screams and shakes and overheats just from opening your internet browser. When you can just game on a desktop and get a well built non gaming laptop and just deal with not being able to play high-end games with it. A lot of people justify these by saying they get them for school, I can only imagine how popular you are when you take it to class and plug in your leafblower.
Dadodaw i'm thinking when you are with someone out of your home you would be, you know, with that someone rather then gaming :) but w/e, to each his own... i don't get the concept of gaming notebooks at all... way too much money for rather crappy HW... when i play i wanna focus, which does not go well along with tiny screen and notebook keyboard :)
***** Spoiler alert, people play games together. Also yes I think these gaming notebooks are way too pricey, but price isn't really a good argument against them because people defend the concept which is what I think doesn't work out well.
Good job on this one Linus! I actually don't have anything to complain about XD. I will say something though: 970Ms are actually ridiculously cool. The fact that you thermal throttled speaks volumes about the system's actual inability to cool. If you ever run into a system like that again, try propping it up. Folded napkins or something would work; just get about a bottlecap or so of leverage off the floor and see how it works. It's not something hard to do while traveling, and it might very well help the cooling. It's also a good tip for users with GS70s and P34/P35 type machines. Don't worry we'll make you a miniature, canadian version of me soon enough =D
Why compare a gaming laptop to a laptop that was created entirely to another use? Seriously? Are you kidding or not? Apple made it clear it wasn't a high powered computer. It was a computer created for people who played light games and surfed the Internet. It's really stupid of you to compare The 2 computers. 😕
I always liked the macbooks air and pro but man come on this new macbook is the most useless thing ive ever seen, u can buy a chromebook for 200usd and it will do the work of the new macbook
Marko Gavric We have to keep in mind that this is a 1st gen product. The 1st gen Air only had 2 ports (excluding power and aux). Now the Air has 4 ports (again, excluding power and aux). Apple will most likely add more ports in the future.
CrackedDylMil I agree too. Apple should have done better with the Macbook. But this is typical of Apple. Their always high priced. I would wait for the next macbook.
I would highly recommend this laptop over the new razer blade. The cons mentioned in this video aren't as bad as explained. The quality is perfect for me and I have been incredibly happy in the two months i have had it so far. The throttling issue isn't a major problem for lower graphics intensive games like skyrim and world of warcraft, but despite that in general the machine is the perfect item of purchase if you like travelling to a mates house for a LAN session. Happy shopping.
I despise MacBooks, but the one thing they do right, is the touchpad, in terms of scrolling and gestures. The best I've used on non-macs, is the Asus G750s touchpad. Nice and large, two physical buttons and multi touch. Also has an amazing keyboard with a near perfect layout.
My roommate got a Gigabyte gaming notebook, hates the trackpad, and only occasionally uses the laptop for use in class. He said it was a huge waste of money. He does have a nice desktop though.
wow that is one fucking ugly laptop. Also I don't get the point of these laptops, why don't you buy a cheap laptop for when you are working, and invest in a *beast* rig for video editing, programing and gaming?
becouse you are spending more money, and some people just dont want a huge pc since they can not carry it around and travel with it. So they just buy a laptop that has decent specs and that is good enough for them.
So you can game when you travel, planes, trains, travelling to different homes, friends, LANs etc etc also great for working on high end photo and video tasks etc
My current Craptop: Dell latitude d830, intel core2 duo t7250 2.00GHz, 4GB ddr2 800mhz, Nvidia Quadro NVS 135M. 1280x800 screen res. It's about 7/8 years old, but still VERY well built, feels like a brick and isn't painful to use. Can play 720p on UA-cam, minecraft (with optifine) at around 30FPS so no complaints. It was in a skip to be fair.
I need to get a newer gpu for my Alienware m15x r2 chassis, I got it handed down to me and it is the base model with an i3, 500gb hdd, 1gb ATI Radeon gpu, and 4gb of ram. Over the course of a couple of years it now has an i7 740qm, 640gb hdd, same gpu and 8gb of ram.
When buying a high-end laptop, you want to have a high-end experience. This laptop looks, feels (and smells?) like a low/mid-range device and it even lacks a displayport limiting you to hooking up an external 1080p screen at best. Not very future proof. Neh... not impressed at all.
As a current GS70 user, gigabyte did a decent job with this machine. I am one of the people they're likely targeting with this, but, the Metal vs. Plastic thing is one of the reasons I pay MSI a bit more. For me, I want a reliable metal construction, and a board room presence that doesn't make me feel like a teenager, but I still want the ability to play GTA5 in my hotel room without making me sacrifice too much. I think they still have a bit further to come to beat the GS series from MSI, and the Blade from Razor, but they're getting much closer than I've seen in the last decade.
I love my Gigabyte stuff so if I had the money and wanted a gaming laptop I'd definitely give this a look. Now as for the thermal throttling .... Can that be at all changed by a laptop cooler being attached to the bottom?
I planning on getting a GTX 970 and a AMD FX 8320. What would you recommend on the build? I'm on a budget so if you could kept the build under $800 that would be great. I want to run Battlefield, Day Z, Metro, Farcry, and Crysis at around 60 fps.
I dunno bout you guys but when i spend $1000+ on a laptop i don't use it as a cushion, head rest or crow bar. So the bending wouldn't really bother me.
It's not just the durability. For me, the biggest problem with flex is your typing experience sucks. Every key has a different max travel distance (based on if its in the middle where flex is greatest, or if i press lighter/harder) which in a thin laptop you will be bottoming out anyway.
Dennis Plotnik /me press down on laptop keyboard to flex it. Yep I got a really sturdy integrated keyboard on my laptop. Definitely improves the typing experience.
Hi, great review! But I think that MSI Afterburner has problems reporting and logging GPU core clock speeds on the 970m. Playing BF4 maxed out on ultra at 1920x1080 with the resolution scale at 120% never results in a core clock less than the base speed of 924MHz for me on my stock P34W.
Do a review of the sager np 8652 it is really amazing with 2m.2 ssd ports and another 2 sata 3 ports with support for 2 7mm drives or one 7mm and one 9.5mm hdd add the I7 4720hq or higher and the sharp igzo 4k 60hz display and a gtx 980m 4gb and 32gb ram and you have a beast of a machine with literally no thermal throttling
Thank you for your honest review. I come here to take reviews more seriously. You not only show the pros but you're deeply honest about the con's. I respect that. Anyywayy will you guys be reviewing Aorus x3v3 by any chance?
I have this laptop and I have to add. The biggest problem is the crappy thermal paste used. Which is first too much and too cheap. Replaced it with IC Diamond and after that no more throttling and loud fans. I dont have backlight bleed luckily. I do agree the built quality could be better. But too be honest. In recent years most brands kinda drop some balls in that ballpark unfortunately. It still feels solid but not Apple like solid.
Zachary Grimshaw No problem! i recommend repasting though, It runs a tad hot without. But I only recommend it if you have experience with that. Or else let a professional reseller do it. It shaved 8c of my max temperatures and eliminated throttling as well.
Cool video. There were moments that made me cringe. 1. Like when I saw the ports, I saw VGA. I don't know why, but we're in 2015 and companies still build a laptop with a frickin VGA port. 2. When he compared a GAMING laptop that concentrates on gaming with a laptop that concentrates on lightness, thinness, portability, build quality and work. Seems a bit unfair. Everything else: great video (like always), very informative and awesome. Continue!
Good laptop for a college student looking to game and use it to take notes? It looks like it has pretty decent battery life when not gaming and it light and portable. Amy thoughts?
I'm just wondering, is the overcharge protection and switch to AC technology already applied to those laptops, specially Ultrabook? because almost all laptops nowadays are built-in battery.
I'd trade power for silence and a really good screen. It's nice being able to play games at max settings and everything, but it's also nice to hear the video you want to watch while going to sleep...
cool but i liked inspiron 7559 nd bought it ...nd it too has backlight bleed.......but tis 1 has a better gpu......but wats the use if it chokes down lol.....
Can you do a review on the 15.6" version (Gigabyte P35W v3) ? I would like to see a comparison between these 2 as im having a rather tough time deciding. Thanks :D
Now tell me please, did it worth uploading this video earlier to Vessel? Did you get that many views as you usually get? I'm really curious. Because I watched like 3 videos there, but the whole experience just plain sucked. The videos randomly paused and could not restart them without reloading the whole site. They don't even support android.. seriously???
I have the P35W (V3), absolutely no keyboard flex to report. Glad my desire for an optical drive guided me to that one instead of the P34W now I've seen this, although it is 2.5kg.
i have asus g751jt, it has i7 4 core up to 3.5 ghz, 16 gb ram, GTX 970M 3gb, 500gb ssd, 1tb sshd with 8gb ssd, 750gb hdd, it is awesome can run any game at max :)
hi linus i have the Gigabyte P34W V3 with Geforce GTX970M the hinge has broken the screen was working with pixel loss on the left side im trying to figure out what screen i have to buy to replace the screen any help much appreciated theres so many different versions
I own an msi gs70 with a 765m. I recently bought this laptop 2 months ago. I love it. Has a lot of power in a small package and performs better than my msi on battery power. It also seems to throttle a lot less than the msi but is pretty damn loud when the fans kick in while gaming. I use headphones so it doesn't really bother me. It also in my opinion feels sturdier with less flex which makes it feel like better quality.
I have a P34 V4 with a GTX 965M 4GB GDDR3, and 16GB RAM. The CPU is better in it than what is in my desktop, and of course The GPU in the laptop can't compete to a GTX 980 Ti. There is a few options in the smart manager that can be used to control the fan. I have considered in adding a custom detachable cooling loop for this thing. I have found that while this is on a table, throwing something under the rear as simple as a pancil or something of simmilar size. This reduces the fan noise and provides better performance. I also haven't had a problem with gaming with this thing on my lap (just keep in mind where the air intake is, and sit it accordingly on your lap). I usualy carry this thing in a sleeve, but that is because my bag was made for a 15-17 inch screen laptop, not this. So the flex is not an issue for me, for it is well protected anyway. An AU$30 sleeve to protect a AU$2100 device is a no brainer. That cloth mat (or even a cut up cotton shirt to fit) protects the screen from being scratched up by the keyboard. This laptop is my 4th laptop in a 10 year period. 1st one died to abuse served to it. 2nd died due to carelesness on my part, when I had placed it on the armrest of a lounge, and it got bumped off while running. 3rd was sold in A1 condition when I upgraded to the P34 V4. I saw the P34 V5 and wished I had waited. V5 has a USB-C. But then again I didn't know about USB-C well and truly after I had bought V4.
*Calls it affordable
*Is 1500 dollars
Everything is relative
LinusTechTips That's like saying a 3 grand computer is affordable at 2 grand. It is still a lot of money.
This is the greatest convo I've ever seen.
That is really quite affordable considering the specs
it costs as much as my beastly desktop :/ and mine is running a 970 OCed to 2000 MHz mem and 1528 MHz core, and a FX 8350. I would never choose this laptop over my Desktop

JaggiHunter Greyfrill I feel your pain
JaggiHunter Greyfrill yes maybe, but we can actually upgrade our desktops. Their stuck with those specs for the most part.
MS_supreme Quite true, now I feel better :)
JaggiHunter Greyfrill Unless you have no money for it >:D
we dont overheat, and we dont have shitty battery life!

JmanTheMinecrafter From the first time they made video of that, I have a bad feeling..

Linus, the horse power of your sons tricycle all depends on what you feed the boy and therefore could make your first statement incorrect.
Much love.

It also would matter if his son was in fact a horse.

Why are they called 'laptops' when you can/should never place them on your lap?
Some manufacturers call them "notebooks".
Jimmy Dali In Finland we call them "kannettava" which translates to "carryable". In truth those old "carryables" are now "dragables".
Zhinarkos lol so true
Put a cushion on your lap then put the laptop on your cushion and you have a cushion-top YA?

You're right. One of them is for hipsters that have no concept of money, the other for mature people.
Just in case anyone is interested, I have the Gigabyte P34G V1 (which is the same laptop just older) with an i7 and 760m and I HIGHLY recommend Gigabye. So... thinking of buying the Gigabyte P55w without the ODD (who uses discs these days). But SADLY there are only 2 reviews on youtube... P55W and please tear it apart while you have it.... very curious about the single fan cooling in the P55w vs the dual setup in the P35 line... hmmm. LINUS WE NEED YOU!
Looks fairly rugged....Left it in the rain yet?
Bought this laptop, replaced the thermal paste = no throttling :) Monster of a laptop - the fans can be loud so often, if it's a game that isnt cpu dependant, ill underclock the cpu to 2ghz (plenty for most games) with intel xtu and it not only runs cooler and quieter but it allows more freedom for the gpu to boost which actually results in better framerates in games.
It's just a laptop that is at it's best if you like to manually tell it how to behave.
This was on Vessel no?
Yes.
Severus__ : Yep It was on vessel :/
it was
Everything will be. Did you not watch his video explaining what will happen?
Lachlan Hynd Considering that video is deleted...
Always look forward to the intro tag-line
The one port Mac Book looks so much better than any other laptop.
Banno-J No, with the one port it makes it look expensive or elegant
And it's also amazing for games.... oh no, wait....
Trevon Cam Yes.... only one Port for everthing looks expensiv....
Sorry, I prefer function over form.

most laptops have 2 usb + headphone/mic jacks . more premium quality also have some extra connectivity , but nothing major . way less than 10 usb ports and still very useful .
a mouse is pretty much standard unless you like to punish yourself , also if you carry a laptop you probably will need to plug in a usb too . that is 1 more usb than mac offer , and that is the bare minimum .
if you dont use mouse/usb then you could use your phone instead of a laptop .
apple is becoming shittier by the day , and that is good because apple fans always found shitty excuses to justify the ridiculus premium they pay . not anymore , macs are just expensive bricks and you cant justify them no matter what
Once again, thank you guys @ Linus media group for the awesome the 4k content!
Linus please dust your stuff before glam shots. Keep trying to dust my own screen thinking it was me.
At least you have a clean screen now
imapie4688 I already had a clean screen.
fsfaith now its cleaner
***** yep. great community here.
2 sponsor spots, one video. Glad to see you guys are progressing...
Let me know what you guys think :)
cheers //NonLaptopPcMasterRace
ScrattleGG So true.
PPX14 haha. never used a shoulderbag but I can imagine it ain't as comfortable as it looks pretty :D
PUT IT IN THE RAAAAIN,
I LOVE YOUR INTRO it makes me feel happy
And that laptop is not ridiculous? Colored keyboard, kinda looks like cheap gray alien piece of junk to me. I hate gaming stuff that looks "cool", looks more like toys to me. Does anyone know a laptop that looks clean and made of quality materials?
www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8651-clevo-p650se-p-7690.html
Some sort of ASUS ultrabook, or a lenovo y50
Brushed aluminum outside, sharp corners, dark grey, 1080p IPS display (put that on laptops already got dammit)
MacBook Pr..... JK!

Vulpus You can play games like Metro Last light and Elder scrolls online at like mid and most games before 2013 will run in high but the latest ones like the witcher 3 or batman you might get low on them or can't run it.
Those fans can make you fly :)
These gaming laptops with leafblower coolers are awful. What's the point of buying one to take it places when it's just going to be as loud as a vacuum cleaner.
Fanless laptops are made for sissies like you.
Dadodaw why would you care about the noise? don't you play with your headphones on?
*****
It's not me that's the problem, it's the person next to me that has to deal with the hair dryer fan.
Dadodaw i'm thinking when you are with someone out of your home you would be, you know, with that someone rather then gaming :)
but w/e, to each his own... i don't get the concept of gaming notebooks at all... way too much money for rather crappy HW... when i play i wanna focus, which does not go well along with tiny screen and notebook keyboard :)
*****
Spoiler alert, people play games together.
A "light gaming and browse the internet" machine shouldn't cost as much as this. But it does
I always liked the macbooks air and pro but man come on this new macbook is the most useless thing ive ever seen, u can buy a chromebook for 200usd and it will do the work of the new macbook
We want Luke's hot mom back!
I have the P35 and I love it, it's light, thin and powerful!
Laptops should not be for gaming it's just not practical
why not? laptops are portable computers
yeah, laptops shouldnt be constricted to boring productive stuff.. if you want that, get a macbook
MrGame2307 Ehhhh
MrGame2307
low performance very high cost
Barrel Humper42 maybe 5 years ago but laptops are catching up quickly. 980m is faster than the desktop 970 so theres that.
Minecraftemperor091 good arguement
So you can game when you travel, planes, trains, travelling to different homes, friends, LANs etc etc also great for working on high end photo and video tasks etc
shadowcapt172 exactly.
shadowcapt172 did you just say "high end video tasks" as a video editor, I am offended
Nice intro, I think it's better than the previous one.
Friggin Vessel. Already seen this, should I even stay subbed?
5:49 Linus, wtf did you do to the screen?! All that flexing and you broke it!
Nice video as always Linus Media Group!
It has been long time but still....have to say: i REALLY LIKE the intro. :)
I love my Gigabyte stuff so if I had the money and wanted a gaming laptop I'd definitely give this a look.
Now as for the thermal throttling ....
Can that be at all changed by a laptop cooler being attached to the bottom?
i love the always changing slogans at the intro.. ^^
"And it even has ports!"
Love this.
I planning on getting a GTX 970 and a AMD FX 8320. What would you recommend on the build? I'm on a budget so if you could kept the build under $800 that would be great. I want to run Battlefield, Day Z, Metro, Farcry, and Crysis at around 60 fps.
What about the v4? Any differences?
3k display and 5th gen i7
I dunno bout you guys but when i spend $1000+ on a laptop i don't use it as a cushion, head rest or crow bar.
The P34W vs Aurous 7?? If You were to buy one tomorrow, which would you choose? And why?
i want the same formfactor, but less expensive for my linux machine, any suggestions?
4:26
Thin metal doesn't usually break as easy as thin plastic.
***** he has reviewed the v2 awhilr aho not the v3
Really love the intro music 😊😊
Do you have a Razer Blade video coming out soon? I saw from your Instagram and was wondering
1:36 Does it use an Intel AC 7260? I'm getting 866.7mbps, but it drops to 780 and jumps back up to 866.7 in a never-ending loop.
It still feels solid but not Apple like solid.
oh and the battery ryntime with properly setting up is 4 to 5 hours for me.
mugenjouproject What's the battery life when not gaming? Like when surfing the web and such?
Zachary Grimshaw 4~5 hours at medium brightness. 4 hours if I use it for heavy photoshop.
mugenjouproject thanks for the info!
Zachary Grimshaw No problem! i recommend repasting though, It runs a tad hot without. But I only recommend it if you have experience with that. Or else let a professional reseller do it. It shaved 8c of my max temperatures and eliminated throttling as well.
0:20 SHOTS FIRED.
Yessss the review is here!!
"more powerful than my sons tricycle." thats the best analogy yet, linus.
Continue!
Make a video on what is draw call of a gpu, please.....
@TheCookieGawd It's actually affordable for the components, other laptops get up to 2k
Saw this over on Vessel. I wonder where the Vessel video went???
Can you do p35w v5
I'd trade power for silence and a really good screen. It's nice being able to play games at max settings and everything, but it's also nice to hear the video you want to watch while going to sleep...
cool but i liked inspiron 7559 nd bought it ...nd it too has backlight bleed.......but tis 1 has a better gpu......but wats the use if it chokes down lol.....
I feel like I've seen this video before. Was it on Vessle?
Can you do a review on the 15.6" version (Gigabyte P35W v3) ? I would like to see a comparison between these 2 as im having a rather tough time deciding. Thanks :D
that face around 2:35 when saying "it has ACTUAL PORTS ON IT"
....LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
This is a great example why reviews will always be superior to just reading the specs on a device.
gigabyte p34w bend test at 4:20
That is a pretty weird way to put a mini PCI-E connector at 2:10
Now tell me please, did it worth uploading this video earlier to Vessel? Did you get that many views as you usually get? I'm really curious. Because I watched like 3 videos there, but the whole experience just plain sucked. The videos randomly paused and could not restart them without reloading the whole site. They don't even support android.. seriously???
LinusTechTips Are you guys considering doing a review on the Razer Blade 2015 edition? Preferably the non-pro version.
I wish Linus would review the new Gigabyte p35w v4 laptop
Linus could you please do a "What laptop to buy?" Including new laptops that came out now and the laptops of 2014 pls. That would be awesome
I have the P35W (V3), absolutely no keyboard flex to report. Glad my desire for an optical drive guided me to that one instead of the P34W now I've seen this, although it is 2.5kg.
Has MiniDP and 2x USB 2.0 too :)
My Question is, can you use custum Fanprofiles, to prevent from Thermal throtteling, on this Laptop.
Linus, how is the thermal throttling if you limit FPs to 60? (Or v-sync)
Hey linus, can you review this chassi? i cant find videos of it anywhere .Aerocool BattleHawk Black Edition
My friend is getting the model with a GTX 965m instead of the 970m model, would the thermal issues be as bad?
i have asus g751jt, it has i7 4 core up to 3.5 ghz, 16 gb ram, GTX 970M 3gb, 500gb ssd, 1tb sshd with 8gb ssd, 750gb hdd, it is awesome can run any game at max :)
Michal Losonsky and with no overheating issues, everything runs under 75°C
hi linus i have the Gigabyte P34W V3 with Geforce GTX970M the hinge has broken the screen was working with pixel loss on the left side im trying to figure out what screen i have to buy to replace the screen any help much appreciated theres so many different versions
I don't understand why they didn't use bigger heatsinks and fans. There should be room for some °C and DB less.
was the quote at the beginning a reference to the whole room watercooling project? :P
there's a P34K that has a gtx965m, my dealer says it'd be about 100USD cheaper than the P34W. Can't make up my mind which to get... Any suggestion?
Did I just miss it or? I didn't hear the screen size mentioned at all.
I have a MSI GS70 With a 860m, should i try this one ?? help please
a 970m would definitely outperform an 860m. So base your decision around that fact and what you're going to use the laptop for.
Thanks for the reply!
Thanks for your reply!
