- Inspired by an earlier video of mine, this is a compilation of scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark where German texts are spoken, but no explanatory subtitles were provided. Hope you'll find this clip informative.

Was looking a translation for this scene 3:33 Thank you for the work, kamerad.
Gern geschehen, pal. 👍
for a translation* excuse me 😌
3:08 and thats how Jones didnt drown
Thank you so much for this, I've been trying to find a translation of the German in the U-Boat scene for the better part of an hour
I never knew the plane was there to transport the ark :o awesome translation, thank you
You're welcome.
@@Daniel4646 ua-cam.com/video/FVdRfnLPypE/v-deo.html&si What Did Dietrich said in German desert chase That you skip the part
@@MichaelG3558 Yeah, I overlooked that particular one. This question was already anwered in another entry, but I can repeat it here:
"Come closer! Come on!"
@@Daniel4646 What did the guy say in German when they backed up the car in the desert chase scene you skipped that part
2:05 pat roache appeared in both Indiana jones films and he’s a brummie boy just like me
Appeared in the first three, usually in multiple roles.
His appearance in the third Indy film as a Gestapo thug in the Zeppelin scene. was very much "blink and you'll miss him". But I think I saw a deleted scene years ago, in which him and Indy have yet another altercation in the Zeppelin.
Hey, alright! Thank you for this!
You're welcome.
2:47 The Full sentence is a question, he asks her: "Du Hure, bist du die Frau vom Kapitän?"
Translated it would mean: "You whore, are you the captain's wife?"
Ah, good to know. In the movie I got this clip from, it is a bit indistinct.
Magnificent I can see the English subtitles every time the guys were saying in English
Thanks! 🤩👍

@@Daniel4646 what did the guy say in German After Belloq Says Idiot idiot
@@Daniel4646 you forgot what did Dietrich said in in German in the truck chasing scene
@@MichaelG3558 Yeah, that's been noted in a previous comment here. I simply overlooked that one while making that clip.
I always hated that I couldn't find that stupid greek island on the map. 😂
Always cool to see what they said. I'm surprised no translation lines on the movie.
One of the reasons I did this.
Did you wish they had translation in the movie I just don't understand why there where not
@@scottriddell3514 That's why I posted this.
3:49 look at how he kicks him and gets the hat
Thanks for this!
You're welcome!
Sadly pat roache is no longer with us he’s already dead
(1937-2004).

Sad. 😢💔
for some reason I always thought Indiana Jones had translations built into the movie for the German. yet I enabled both English subtitle options on my Blu-ray version of the movie and it just made subtitles show up for the English which I don't need since I only understand English
3:07 herr oberst = Mr Colonel
Yep. I entered this in German back then 'cause German wartime titulations were pretty commonly used in English movies. My mistake.
@@Daniel4646ok
Fab ,Love the Translation from Deutsch(German) to English 😂,Good morning Tired ?Thump 👊😂

Good video! Please make the translate of the other Indiana films too
Already have. At least for The Last Crusade.
Nice job 👍🏻
Thanks.
I'd like to know what's being said in the background in the submarine pen. I can make out the name Leni Riefenstahl (German director of propaganda movies at the time), but that's about it.
The first part, before Jones pummels the German guard for his uniform, are instructions for the docking and unloading of the submarine. The second part is an announcement about Leni Riefenstahl appearing in a film of some sort that evening; but the background noise and music make several parts hard to make out.
@@Daniel4646 him appearing in a film probably means filming the opening of the ark, since it would be fantastic propaganda for the Germans.
@@bluesides8323 Unlikely. Riefenstahl would appear in a movie the same evening Belloque would try and open the Ark. In order to make this a propaganda piece, the Nazis would surely review the filmed material first, edit the parts they want (and don't want), and THEN release it for publication - something that can't be done in just a few hours.
@@Daniel4646 Plus, you can see the Nazi cameraman killed in a brief shot where a beam of energy enters the lens and exits the viewfinder. And Riefenstahl was supposed to appear filming the Nazi rally in "Crusade."
What about the command that Taht makes in the bar? You know, when he orders his guys to seize Marion?
I believe he was calling out a name rather than giving an order. The word he says certainly does not match any German term I know for "seize her" or something like that.
@@Daniel4646, the subtitles say he said something in German
@@pop-culturecinephile8144 What exactly does the subtitle read in your version?
@@Daniel4646, just that he’s speaking in German
@@pop-culturecinephile8144 Not a particularly precise "translation", and as I said before, the spoken line gives more the impression of Toth calling the sherpa's name instead of giving an order in German.
when ever i watch a movie and it has non English parts but the majority is English I usually am mad if there is no subs to tell me what is being said. especially if no one in the film is being a translator for us. to say what the person speaking non English is saying so the English viewers and people in the movie know what is said
Glad I could help a bit, then.
I wonder who wrote the German script cuz in the sub scene, he said,"Wir herren das Periskop nach oben Herr oberst" which "Herren" is not the correct word 😂
The correct word would be "fahren", from "hochfahren" oder "nach oben fahren" - meaning "extending" in this particular case. But the pronounciation done by non-German actors makes it hard to hear the correct wording at times.
1:22
Dietrich was a colonel, not a major.
Blame it on a script error. The officer definetly says "Major" ("major"). If he had addressed Dietrich as colonel, he'd have called him "Oberst".
@@Daniel4646 TMAI.
@@Daniel4646 Maybe he was talking to himself 😆
@@Daniel4646 What's bizarre is that later he's correctly addressed as "Herr Oberst" when he orders the Ark to be put on a truck to Cairo.
@@Daniel4646 It may be a flubbed line. I believe the officer saying the line is supposed to be a major.
What did the sidecar riders say after crashing in the water?
Ah, missed that one!
They're saying, "Turn it over! Turn it over!"
Can you do the temple of doom and the kingdom of the crystal skull English translation, please?
? ? ? ?
There's no German in those movies

😄
What is the German text the commander is saying at the 2:25 mark? I thought is was something aussteigen but the way he speaks it doesn't jive with his mouth movement.
He does not say anything like "aussteigen", as far as I caught it. The German text has already been translated and subtitled.
@@Daniel4646 that was my question… what’s he saying in German in text form?
@@Schush Aaah, so THAT'S what you were after! He says, "Ja, schnell rüber!"
@@Daniel4646 Thank You
I'm german and I understand: Ja, schnell runter! Translation: Yes, go down, quick! And the answer is: Jawohl!
I thought they said die Leiter (the Ladder)
?? Where exactly?
@@Daniel4646 When they go with the car through the people during the desert chase. I thought it could be Leute, however there was a ladder (Leiter) and I thought "I don't think this guys would have cared about the people haha but for the ladder falling" but now that I hear it, they clearly say Leute
@@felipeperaltalcine They definetly did say "Leute". Their disregard for human lives aside, even Nazis would not want to risk a full-front collision and resultant car wreck from hitting someone.
2:12 who said that?
Either the driver or a ghost. Certainly not Belloq or Toht.
It must have been toht the driver wouldn’t say that
@@randomaccount9631 Unlikely. Like Dietrich and Belloq, he was looking backwards at the approaching truck right before the shouting comes. Besides, it didn't sound like his voice.
We never saw Ronald Lacey speaking German so idk
Dietrich was the only German one in the car
