    Watching your video for a second time; I love my Kaweco pens! Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad nib on Amy of my Kaweco pens. The only AL Sport I have is in the Espresso Special Edition with either a B or a BB nib, but honestly, I have a difficult time sometimes getting a good grip on it whereas I don’t have that problem with the plastic Sports. Also, the only Kaweco Sport pen I own that has a different nib is the Skyline Sport in Macchiato, and it’s nib, a Medium, has bounce to it that the other nibs don’t have. I love your beautiful collection!

      Thank you so much for watching again. I love my Kawecos too 😊 it’s true about the AL sport does has a difficulty to grip it in same writing position 😆 as for the plastic I guessed more friction so grip better. My smoothest nib is the Kaweco Aurora, buttery smooth feels, EF hence more scratchy. Hope to collect more when I can afford again 🤭 Thanks for your lovely message , much love ❤️

    As a Kaweco fan, I just love your pen collection. I am really envy that you have the exclusive AL Sports colors like the Iguana green, aurora and the Hello Kitty pink one! Question for you- can we draw a summary (I was going to say conclusion ) that the AL sports models may have better alignment and polishing on the same steel nibs as they write more smoothly and less scratchy? I was afraid to pull out the nib and feed for cleaning because of that.

    • @JournalInkSketch
      @JournalInkSketch  2 роки тому

      Hi, Glad you like them 😊 I love Kaweco but they have too many types so I decided to narrow my collection to only buy “Kaweco Collection” series [provided is the color that I like], and my wish list for this upcoming collection series is the new AL Ruby 😍 as I have yet got a red one. For the smooth or scratchy nib, I think it depends on the nib size, the EF & F mostly scratchy, The M above is ok. All my pen tested before I even pull out the nib and feed to wash. Best example is the pink hello kitty, me & my sis both have one, same nib size(as they only come in fine) but mine scratcy, hers not.😅 It’s more likely due to the steel needed more detail polishing but I have yet try that. Maybe I will try that one day.

      Inks are very different also, and I find that one pen may like a certain ink then another. 🤷‍♀️

    • @JournalInkSketch
      @JournalInkSketch  2 роки тому +2

      @@MrsinTN I agreed, I noticed same ink with different pen (even same brand pen) have a different consistency on ink flows. Some wet and some not so, if not wet then you ink color will be just one shade but with wet nib, ink variations are more visible.

    Very nice collection! The aurora and iguana blue might be on my list someday. I bought a kaweco sport piston filler new old stock some time ago I might sell ( it's very tiny), so I can purchase them.

    • @JournalInkSketch
      @JournalInkSketch  2 роки тому

      😊 Thank you ! The Kaweco sport piston converter is very small in order to fit the pen size. I prefer to reuse the cartridge and refill with new ink rather then the filler as I think the cartridge holds more ink.

    • @crayons987
      @crayons987 2 роки тому

      @@JournalInkSketch it is actually a piston filler pen, not a cartridge with a piston. It has a little ink window which is bluish, but the pen itself is black with an "oblique" nib that writes normally (??). I think they made in the 1960s or something. It came in a little black leather pouch. It's much smaller than the modern kaweco sport, too small for me I think.

    • @JournalInkSketch
      @JournalInkSketch  2 роки тому

      I see now, just google it. I saw a pic with comparison the new sport and the filler type…it is slightly smaller and has a gold trim on cap. Vintage!

    • @JournalInkSketch
      @JournalInkSketch  12 днів тому +1

      Hi, it’s actually not dark brown. It’s Diamine stargazer shimmering ink. Stargazer has monster red sheen and blue shimmer. Maybe the red sheen makes it looks like earth color.
      It’s from Diamine 2021 inkvent.

    • @JournalInkSketch
      @JournalInkSketch  2 роки тому +1

      You are most welcome. In this video I am using Traveler’s notebook which is MD paper. It is very good paper to write with fountain pen, no bleeding even for BB nib. My hobonichi is on the way flying to me…so when I got it, I will do a pen test on my hobonichi journal with all the fountain pen I have and see what is usable and what is not, so do come back and check it out. Hope can upload it this weekend or else will be next weekend. See you there. Thanks for watching 🥰

    I‘m also a big fan of Kaweco/TWSBI pens. I just ordered 4 Kawecos (Sport Brass, Banana, Mandarine and Cappuccino). I‘d also like to know which inks you‘re using - maybe you could just add them to your pen/writing swatches? Thanks for the video!

      Nice combination of colors in your new Kaweco orders. Sorry that I didn’t mentioned the ink colors. Will include ink color name in my next Kaweco Pen test video as a few of them have changed ink.

  • @violetrosegold

    I ordered an EF nib and will try it out. Do you find the EF considerably more scratchy than F? I’d like the smallest nib but not if it’s significantly more scratchy. The grid in a hobonichi weeks is small so would like the finest nib. Well I’m going to try the EF. And then will decide if I want to try a F. Wish I had a store close to me where I could try them out in person.

    • @JournalInkSketch
      @JournalInkSketch  2 роки тому

      Hi, EF is more scratchy then F as it’s write more thinner line. But depends on ink too. F also able to write small. M nib then is a bit harder to write small. I have all the size for Kaweco from EF to BB. BB is definitely splendid for shimmer sheen ink. 😊

    • @JournalInkSketch

      I will try 😄…vibrant violet & iguana = kaweco summer purple ; cyan = Kaweco paradise blue ; hello kitty = pilot iroshizuku tsutsuji ; lavender = diamine festive joy ; lilac = kaweco blue ; choc brown = pilot iroshizuku kujaku ; 20’s student = diamine silver fox ; stonewashed blue = diamine thunderbolt ; aurora = kaweco black ; olive green = sketch ink emma ; iridescent pearl = diamine storm (shimmer) ; 70’s student = diamine seize the night….I think I got it all 😃 I am planning to do ink swatches soon, hope to see you there, happy holidays.

    Is it worth buying kaweco aluminium fountain pens in comparison to steel?is it any faded colour faded issues in aluminium body?what about build quality?

    • @JournalInkSketch
      @JournalInkSketch  2 роки тому +2

      I don’t own any steel type kaweco, but the AL body is very solid and the sandblasted to produce a unique matt surface finish is beautiful. I used them daily and the color still remain beautiful. I don’t have a steel type Kaweco, but it should be lighter and it’s doesn’t have odour smell like steel 😃

    What is the purpose of reverse writing with fountain pens? I've never heard anyone explain this test that folks do. It seems pointless. Is it just to get a thinner line with your nib? (Not a fan of thin nibs, in any case.)

    • @JournalInkSketch
      @JournalInkSketch  Рік тому +1

      Actually yes - it’s kinda pointless because I never used my fountain pens in reverse nibs either🤭
      I guess it’s just for a show and tell purpose that the nib is still able to write when in reverse… that’s all. For nib size, I prefer Fine or above, EF too fine for me too. Thanks for pointing out 😄

      @evayaaasantewaa448 Рік тому +1

    • @greekveteran2715
      @greekveteran2715 12 днів тому +1

      For people who sketch using fountain pens, reverse writing can provide a thiner line and/or less ink on paper when doing stipling techinque etc. So,it's an advantage for an artist, when a fountain pen can write with both sides.
