Since onyx studio 4 Harman Kardon has went backwards.
The onyx studio 3 had a mic , as well as 2 midrange speakers, 2 tweeters and 2 passive radiators. I have 2 onyx studio 3 and I pair them together.
Harman kardon needs to get their act together. What they can do is make a more powerful onyx studio 3 with better battery life. Also give the option for USB type c charging.
I have one and I wanted to know if we can use it while charging. Thank you
T-Mobile selling this speaker for $150 should I get it ?
I always wonder why the onyx 7 had a major decrease in pricing after like a couple months out. It wasn't worth the price they was selling for?

I have the Onyx Studio 3 and it has a wonderful noise canceling speakerphone. They must have removed that feature and brought it back!

@jaunawqewq 7 has a much better sound with those additional tweeters..
My onyx 8 only last up to 3 hrs

The unit connects fine to my IPhone but for some reason won't connect to my Imac.
I wonder why they won't put a type c charging port, the jbl line up already has them what's so hard about it?
There is a USB-C port but its unfortunately just for service purposes, HK is a bit conservative I guess.
More powerful speakers need other chargers
@@jasonmb9994 True but the onyx studio is a 50w speaker USB-C can deliver up to 100w so nothing is really holding them back

Without thinking about what other alternatives may be better, could I use it to watch movies on Apple TV? Would it be affected by the delay, would there be a difference in the delay if we compare 6 with 8?
I don't have a delay with mine using the Apple TV but the voice comes out low it's almost like the surround sound and back sounds are louder than the voice have to turn it up really loud to hear the voice. I love the bass on this but for TV I wish there was a way to soften the bass to hear the voices better. It also has an improved Bluetooth so there is no delay
Have you connected this to a TV or projector? Onyx 7 suffers from major lag and I'm wondering if this version has the same problem.
Yeah it works better because of Bluetooth 5.0

Longer battery life and usb c and I'll upgrade, otherwise onyx 4 or higher they all sound pretty good
So I can't say for sure since I'm hearing the speaker 3rd hand it doesn't sound good or worth the price at all. It's missing a lot of frequencies and sound ranges that I'm just not hearing.

Can it bypass the battery and be used directly with the power cable?
Absolutely just plug and play. gives better punch of sound while its plugged in too.
Does it support the new Qualcomm codecs, LDAC or just SBC and ACC?
Just SBC and AAC.

I always run a pair of 7s in stereo. The sound stage is incredible!!!
Sound quality is really very good but for real quality music (not techno BoomBoom stuff) it falls a little short in the upper mid range and the highs could use a little help.
This might be do to me playing them outside in wide open areas.
I'm thinking the 8s may fix those mids and help the highs. I might have to give them a try.
I get about 7 hours out of my 7s at mid volume and about 3-4 at high volume on the battery which is great IMO. If you play more bass boom boom obviously it won't last as long and plugged in to 120volts you get more powerful sound.
But let's be honest if you play mainly Boom boom techno music you really don't need this kind of quality anyway.
Yea I know exactly what u mean but this speaker is not a speaker made for outdoors. I have 2 inside my home that I use and they sound great. Tried outside and hurry and turned them off lol. It’s a totally different sound then inside and outside
Techno music is more demanding of speakers.
@@MrTexasboi87 I almost use mine exclusively outdoors. IMO with the music I listen to this is where the quality shines most. Quite Campfire, some wine, and great tunes.

But ability to reproduce what a instrument or vocals or a sound stage really sounds like not so much.

8 is better when it comes to soundstage, but otherwise 7 is still a really good buy if you can find it cheap

The sound and bass is the same as that of studio 7
Pretty similar but slightly wider soundstage, not worth the upgrade if you already owned the 7.
I had tried the onyx 7 in store , it just have nice bass , I won't buy onyx 8 if it sounds similar with onyx 7, the go play 3 is so much better but it's too big for taking out

why does it sound like those chinese knockoff speakers?
Onyx 7 has 2x25 mm tweeters while the Onyx 8 has 2x20 mm tweeters, so onyx 8 has smaller tweeters and that's a DOWNGRADE!
@Spider Man Tweeter size is not, and NEVER has been relevant the sound quality.
It's mainly relevant to crossover frequency
You can't judge a speaker by looking at specs. You judge it by comparing them in person. And from reviews, I heard the highs sound more natural than the Onyx 7

My Corolla has a 2 liter engine and an F1 car has a 1.6 liter engine. The F1 car is clearly a downgrade.

If you don't need to move the speaker around, the Aura is a good choice.
Soundsticks 4. Better stereo separation & more controlled bass output. I have all units.
