This is the #1 problem with the internet and places like UA-cam. Creators only care about views, popularity and making money. How about making content that is truthful and actually matters as opposed to making it to get rich and get attention?
UA-cam trying to amp the 18 something demographic 😂😂 Because she has no voice or value Just a numbers game Great tell on the ethics of voice in today’s society or non society Good job BoobTube
Young teenagers who have little life experience, won't have the same paranoid mentality and greed, like an adult would, who have been through many ups & down, in a dog-eat-dog world. Many adults, who claim they are UA-cam Gurus, will never reveal this kind of technique so openly. The gems she dropped is priceless, and could be sold for a lot, if she decided to create tutorials
Her formula for generating viral shorts is mass producing/grifting low IQ content to little kids (been done before). She's very calculated and knows exactly what's she's doing. She just doesn't have any shame about it and does it with a smile. Far from innocent, if you ask me.
As a copywriter, I can affirm she is AMAZING!!! Her mastery of storytelling is equally scientific and artistic. Major corporations should be racing to hire her for a consultation.

As an English teacher, I may have to teach the concept of making a short with Jenny’s approach so that students understand writing better. This is basically writing and how we teach it: hook as your attention grabber in writing, thesis statement, and transitioning to different paragraphs, etc.
As a writer, who has a B.A. in English - I think the only solution is to go back to diagramming sentences. But with the horrible attention spans that the kids have in this day and age, your idea may be the only option. I might approach it - if it's that bad - by having them write one, clear sentence they understand. Then a few paragraphs, then a short paper, then a longer paper. Have the title of the subject, "Why I Can't Write." That will motivate them. You might lose your job in the process, but you will walk away knowing you tried with these little creeps.
🎉 This is what we need to be teaching in school!!! Sounds crazy but t this is real practical application-even in work presentations!!❤ Great job teacher!!!
Conversely, speaking as one of the original late 70s/early 80s teenage computer "whiz kids" generation that stormed the world and taught everyone to use computers and then our generation proceeded to build out the modern internet for the world together, I for one, can't believe people under 18 all HAVENT figured it out, they have had longer than they have been alive to learn youtube for example.
Yeah but it really is a specific audience. The 5th grade thing is appealing to people with that kind of attention span. You really have to craft content for your niche's audience.
@@davetinocoThe 5th grade thing is a rule of thumb for majority entertainment - because kids spend the most time on here. Unless you are catering to a specific adult audience eg with Finance
It's fabulous that she's studying, thinking, analyzing, using critical thinking skills (rare thing these days), but sadly putting it all together to for an audience that requires info be spoon-fed to them in a "5th grade level or UNDER". What's mind-blowing is no one is talking about that devastating fact. It's staggering to see what goes viral on YT, so much of it is elementary-school mentality (pranks, stunts, games)...let the de-evolution continue.
@@TheCrabbyCrafterlol Mr. Beast Effect. Kind of like 20 years ago Silicon Valley bros were literally shaping the world as we know it through applications and platforms. They likely didn’t think of the long terms effects. Now we have young people besting the algo system, but not challenging it. Perpetuating brain rot content because *that* audience clicks, and subs and likes and comments. I wonder if there is a study that shows any correlation between education level and engagement as a viewer. I agree with you. It takes a lot for someone to go against the grain. The machine is already in motion and it’s one of the easiest ways to make money on this app. Woof.
The brain plateaus for most people in their twenties, that is why becoming a doctor or lawyer as young as possible is encouraged. People graduate with bachelor's degrees at 21.
love the comment that said -She is a scientist by mind... she studied her subjects, tested hypotheses, reviewed and drew conclusions before starting another hypothesis. Love it!
*Jenny is a beast for sharing her method, but Jay is a beast for learning from her on screen, and also taking notes for his viewers, thats top tier!* 💫
This shows that a reel or short isn't something that is accidentally uploaded on the platform. It's a very well thought piece of information put up for a specific purpose
She's a genius. I've dealt with many marketing pros over the last decade and she not only gets the premise of how important a story is to achieving virality, but also her execution of that is amazing. Btw, this is a 38 min video, and I normally don't watch all the way, this is a video that I watched all the way, being fully engaged the whole way.
It's cool to see smart people doing well using their cognitive abilities. But at the same time it's kind of sad, tho, to see that there are so many stupid people giving attention and money exercising their idiocy and superficiality, consuming and supporting this human stupidity producing machine, Shorts videos.
She clearly loves analytics. Which is perfect for her because she enjoys the entire aspect of making these videos. Some only like the process of shooting and editing, but she loves the math of it and the viewer psychology.
I am not a creator, I’ve thought about it, but she is so sweet, I was engaged throughout this whole video. She quickly knew an answer to everyone of your questions, and it just kept me wanting to watch more. I don’t know why YT recommended this to me, but I’m glad they did.
You can tell how intelligent she is, just the way she explains it so easily and comes up with examples so easily. Also, the way she articulates shows it pretty clearly. And I literally could listen to Jenny the whole day.

Ok, these video notes are AWESOME! So well outlined! I took screenshots for my notes on this video cause it's a powerful video and powerful topic. Thank you! I always appreciate when I see video notes in a description or comment.🙂 At the end, it says AI. I'm curious how that would've worked to make such a thorough outline. Can you tell me more??

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 🚀 Jenny Hoyos, an 18-year-old UA-camr, has garnered over 600 million views in the past year on UA-cam shorts. 00:25 🎬 Virality can be achieved by adding a compelling story and a twist, especially with shorts. 00:50 ⏰ Retention isn't as significant in short-form content on UA-cam as many assume. 01:20 🎨 Videos can be made interesting if they have a story that the viewer can invest in, even if it's about mundane topics. 01:48 🍳 Personal experiences and a touch of irony can captivate viewers. 02:32 🎣 A good "short" video has a strong visual hook that can be understood even without audio. 03:01 🔁 Effective shorts compel viewers to re-watch, increasing retention. 03:29 🖼️ Visuals are paramount. When conceptualizing a video, the first consideration is its visual appeal. 03:56 📚 Content readability should be at a fifth-grade level or lower for better comprehension. 04:52 📈 Analyzing the readability and content of popular shorts can provide insights for creating effective shorts. 06:14 🔍 In-depth analysis of personal videos can yield insights on performance and viewer engagement. 06:55 📊 Consistent uploads and analyzing retention graphs can optimize video performance. 07:50 ⏳ Every second matters in a short video. Even a slight drop in retention can impact overall performance. 08:20 🔁 High retention and encouraging viewers to loop a video are crucial metrics in the success of shorts. 08:33 📈 Scroll through rate (STR) on UA-cam shorts indicates viewer engagement; an average STR is around 70%. 08:48 🎯 Jenny's personal STR is 85%, but her video retention can exceed this due to re-watching. 09:13 🔁 For a short to go viral, a 90% retention rate is a good benchmark. 09:42 🖼️ The first frame of a UA-cam short is crucial; Jenny often showcases a fast-food location rather than her face. 10:37 🔄 Consistent framing helps with branding and encourages playlist viewing. 10:50 🛠️ Jenny's video framing style was developed through trial and error, taking inspiration from others before refining her unique approach. 11:44 📝 When brainstorming, considering what another UA-camr would do can help spark unique ideas. 12:11 💳 Uscreen is a platform for creators to earn from their videos with memberships and subscriptions. 13:07 📜 Jenny has a vast bank of video ideas; from a list of a thousand, she might only produce ten. 13:46 🌱 The best video ideas come from everyday life experiences, like making a garden or saving on food. 15:09 🔍 The selection process for which videos to make considers factors like personal interest, virality potential, and feedback from trusted team members. 16:30 🔄 A video's "mechanism" refers to the element that keeps viewers engaged until the end. 16:58 ✅ Structuring a video around "three steps" or "three things" provides a clear framework for viewers, enhancing engagement. 17:11 🎬 Setting expectations is crucial in video creation. However, it's often effective to provide a twist, defying those expectations. 17:37 🎁 Example: Creating a video about giving a unique $5 Mother's Day gift, then introducing a twist at the end. 18:34 ⏲️ The average length of popular videos on the channel is 34 seconds. 19:26 📊 For optimal virality, videos less than 30 seconds should have over 100% retention. Video length and retention rates are interconnected. 20:21 ✏️ A rough script is created before filming to provide structure. This typically includes hooks and foreshadowing, which are kept within 3 seconds or less. 21:17 📢 Foreshadowing in voiceover creates anticipation, setting an expectation for the viewer. 22:12 🎼 Proper pacing is essential to keep the viewer engaged without overwhelming them. Introduce pacing breaks without breaking the flow. 23:07 🎥 The video structure includes elements like problem-solution and the "but therefore" storytelling technique for more intriguing narratives. 24:31 🔄 The creation process involves brainstorming ideas, deciding on a video topic, creating a hook, recording, editing, and finalizing a script. 25:26 📜 The last line of a video is drafted before filming to provide direction, but leaves room for genuine reactions. 25:56 🎬 Jenny notices videos end abruptly, but in a way that's appealing. 26:21 🎯 While many creators target a specific audience avatar, Jenny considers her younger self and nieces as her audience. 27:44 🤔 The interviewer is curious about how creators think of their audience, given the vast range of viewership. 28:28 📲 Discussion about short-form content on Instagram reels, TikTok, and UA-cam. 28:56 🎧 Mention of bonus audio-only episodes of Creator science. 29:24 🔄 Jenny's experience shows that content isn't universally successful across platforms. What works on TikTok may not on UA-cam. 30:34 ⏱️ UA-cam audience prefers a slower pace, while TikTok likes quick, information-dense videos. 31:16 📺 Jenny's future aspirations involve creating long-form content. 32:00 🏔️ Jenny feels she's reached her peak in short-form content and wants a new challenge. 32:55 💸 Surprisingly, money isn't Jenny's primary motivator in creating content. 33:52 🤝 Longer content forms a deeper, more personal connection with viewers due to extended time spent. 34:06 🌍 Jenny acknowledges that her long-form content might cater to a different audience than her shorts. 34:22 😂 Jenny recounts a humorous experience with a young relative who was surprised by the existence of long-form UA-cam videos after being familiar with only shorts. 34:48 📺 Jenny observes that there's a distinct audience difference between those who watch shorts, long-form videos, and those who watch both. 35:17 🎥 Jenny shares that not all her shorts audience transitions to her long-form content and attributes this to audience preference rather than UA-cam's algorithm. 35:45 👀 While some shorts creators blame UA-cam for low views on their long-form content, Jenny feels that the creators themselves might be responsible for this disparity. 36:00 📊 Jenny mentions she averages 10 million views on shorts and 50k on long-form videos. 36:12 ❓ Jenny contemplates on things she believes about UA-cam without concrete data; believes sharability of videos plays a role in their success. 36:42 📈 Cites an example where one of her shorts had a share-to-view ratio of 20% and a scroll-through rate of 92%, which she deems exceptionally high. What a delightful young person! As an “old lady” just starting the UA-cam journey, this was so helpful. I love when young people teach those of us with “advanced age” 😊
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:11 📊 Jenny Hoyos, an 18-year-old UA-camr, has achieved remarkable success with shorts, garnering over 600 million views in a year with an average of 10 million views per video. 01:08 🌟 According to Jenny, making anything go viral involves adding a compelling story and a twist, especially in the short-form content space. A good story can make any topic entertaining. 01:20 👤 For Jenny, personalizing content and creating a sense of investment for the viewer is crucial. Having a personal why or goal in the content can engage the audience. 02:32 🎣 Jenny defines a good short as having a strong visual hook, something that can be used as a title and thumbnail for a longer video, and an engaging story that keeps the viewer watching and re-watching. 03:14 🧠 When generating ideas, Jenny often sketches or visualizes what the video's first frame should look like. The visual element is critical in creating an effective hook. 04:10 📖 Jenny uses a readability checker to ensure her content is understandable to a fifth-grade level or lower. She learned this from analyzing thousands of popular shorts. 07:50 🔄 High retention is vital for shorts, and Jenny aims for at least 90% retention. Rewatching plays a significant role, and she believes viewers should watch it again for maximum impact. 08:33 🔄 Jenny's average scroll-through rate is around 85%, and she encourages a high scroll-through rate by making content that keeps viewers engaged till the end. 09:27 🕒 The ideal length for Jenny's shorts is 34 seconds, as her most popular videos are of this length. Balancing length and retention is essential for achieving virality. 16:03 🔄 Setting expectations and delivering on them is crucial for Jenny. She often adds a twist to keep viewers engaged while still following through on the initial promise. 17:11 🔄 Jenny employs the "three-step mechanism" as a hook, telling viewers there are three steps or things to do in the video, making it easy to follow and engaging. 20:37 📝 Jenny Hoyos plans her video content by starting with a rough script, estimating word count, and including a hook and foreshadowing. 21:46 📹 Jenny focuses on creating content that speaks to her younger self and her younger audience, like her 10-year-old nieces. 29:38 📊 Jenny discusses how content performs differently on platforms like TikTok, UA-cam Shorts, and Instagram Reels, and how audience preferences play a role. 32:12 📈 Jenny is transitioning towards creating long-form content because she sees it as a new challenge and an opportunity for personal growth. 36:27 🔄 Jenny believes that sharability may play a significant role in content performance, though she hasn't conducted a detailed analysis yet. 37:09 ⏱ Jenny has observed that retention doesn't always correlate with the success of a video, citing examples where high-retention videos didn't achieve expected views.
Generally I have a negative view of people who are just "farming for views" but Jenny seems like a genuinely lovely person. I love that you can feel her passion and energy about this topic through the screen, and the content she makes is entertaining and uplifting. These platforms need more of that! Wishing her success.
Wow. Her presentation throughout is impeccable. You can really tell how deeply she understands the platform and she communicates that knowledge so clearly.
She's a smart girl that could do whatever she wants... but will probably just get rich off social media and not have any real life skills. Social media isn't applicable to anything in the real world
this is probably the only video that really teaches you how to go viral and not just repeating what everyone already knows. Her examples are so simple but really teaches you what you need. I don't know who she is but I will definitely be following her now.
Super impressed by Jenny's maturity, presence, intelligence and conscientiousness. Had no clue she was only 18, that absolutely blew my mind. CEOs 2-3X her age should absolutely pay her for mentorship. Incredible
Jenny’s brilliance is evident, but can we also talk about how great of an interviewer you are? This is the first video/podcast of yours I’ve seen- and I must commend your ability to ask engaging questions that capture nuances without losing any of the insightful knowledge that she had to share. Both of you made the discussion enlightening and refreshing to watch. Well done!
Exactly!! 👏🏼 This is my 1st time seeing Jay or Jenny! Let me start off by saying I...ENJOYED EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF THIS❣️ Y'ALL ARE REMARKABLE 💕 That thumbnail intrigued my curiosity and I was definitely not disappointed! I'm thrilled to find y'all and subscribing NOW❣️ 😊
@@donna-elizabeth are you data science professional? Because I’ve been a data scientist for 7 years now. I wouldn’t think this is a agree to disagree situation 🙂
I'm diving into making shorts now, and this interview felt like a masterclass you'd normally have to pay for. I can't believe it's free! Jenny was so confident and knowledgeable about everything she discussed. The best part was when she said, "I first decide whether I want to work on this idea or not; I don't think about virality. I want to make it. I will configure it." That line was pure gold. I hope I can apply these insights and revive my channel!
Thanks for this. Jenny is an inspiration. I'm 77 and I'm just getting started. I understand her wanting to move on to long form videos. I've been having so much fun learning something new. I made a 1 minute 20 second video that I'm so proud of. Never thought I could do something like that.
I did a quick video about the best frozen pizza ever made, followed Jenny’s method from what I could remember, I improvised a little, and with that one video my stats jumped up an insane amount! Took me from an avg. of 20 views per video to 1.5k on that one UA-cam short!
Crazy that the channel had less than 20k subs 3/4 months ago when this was uploaded, and has grown 3x since. Clearly putting it all to good use. Great job!
Yo, fellow creators! How are we supposed to grow when the big guys are using stuff like zem rush and social plus to boost their visibility? It’s like we’re all grinding in slow motion while they’re speeding ahead. Best of luck to all of us out here 😅
THIS is great! I'm ad executive turned UA-camr and basically you''ve broken down what we have to do in a 30 second commercial!! This is great and very detailed!!! Excellent advice!....Tremendous!!!
“Quantity makes quality.” This is true of all art forms. I’ve forgotten the author’s name of “Taking the Leap” (an art business book from years ago), but she graded half her class on a single piece submitted at the end of the semester and the other half on sheer quantity. The quantity group made great strides in their technique and creativity, while the single piece group got bogged down in perfectionism. Love her insight into the science of creativity!
I linked your example together with that too! I just did a 10 day challenge posting 5 shorts daily and I think I may be getting closer to breaking through just as a result of feeling more confident.
I can’t believe an 18 yr old speaks so intellectually and isn’t speaking without saying anything. She literally broke it down to a 1st grader’s guide to vitality.
This is more normal than you think. We like to think that an older person is more intelligent, but that's just prejudice. Lots of adults talking without saying anything.
@@1clarencepYou literally proved my point. The reason you don’t notice how she speaks and what she’s saying is because your own grammar and speech is so limited. Your one short sentence proved that.
This is both amazing and depressing. 600M views in one year is crazy! She’s such a fantastic content creator. UA-cam should reward such creators much more than they currently do. Assuming an RPM of $0.08, 600M views will get you $48k. From that, she pays her editor, who is probably not cheap considering her appraisal of his skills. Then she pays taxes. What is left resembles employment a few notches up from minimum wage. For someone her age, that is still good money. But considering how thoughtfully and meticulously she goes about making shorts, I wish UA-cam could figure out a way to reward such amazing creators who generate an astronomical amount of views for the platform. She absolutely deserves it.
It isnt just about what it makes short term, 600 million views brings you an audience for future shorts/longer videos/other revenue streams. Also, $$$ amount vary on platform to platforms, i had a 90 second reel on facebook that got 5 million views and that alone brought in around $6000.
@@MishaElRusito You missed the part about paying the editor and paying the taxes. And yes, I said that as an 18 year old, whatever happens to be left is still good. Hopefully she can monetize her shorts on other platforms to receive the money she truly deserves as an excellent content creator.
I'm now a septuagenarian who only recently started posting videos. The amount of knowledge that I have as to how to attract UA-cam viewers and subscribers, I could put on the back of a postage stamp. This 19 year old is so knowledgeable, and I can certainly learn a few tips from her . Great video, thanks 👍. YT recommended this video to me, hence the reason why I'm here watching 🙂
I'm stunned... Just amazed at how young this creator is but the amount of analysis done, the knowledge shared, the energy, every spoken details is mesmerizing. Thank you for this interview. I love the positive energy!
Jay, thank you for this video and for your expert interviewing! Jenny, thank you for sharing these gems about Shorts creation. I've had fun adding shorts for my viewers but I need to dive into the stats more than I have. So far, most of my shorts have been music clips of live performance without text or voiceover. I plan to look more at the stats and get into the perspective of my avatar more to get a feel for what makes sense on my recording artist / music channel. Thanks again!!
Jay Clouse.... I did 1 billion views last year after trying to become a youtuber for almost 15 years. Im itching to tell my story. First content creator that asks me for an interview im going to be happy to do it.
This was a not just a shortrs MASTERCLASS, but on storytelling and video content in general. I was taking notes the whole time. Thank you for this amazing interview!
This has to be one of the most vital videos on UA-cam. You ask questions very surgically and that is appreciated. Jenny is so sharp it's crazy. Thanks for this, Jay! You have a new sub!
She's blown my mind. she's Intelligent and very focused on understanding all the technicalities behind creation. her results are more than fair. Jay conducted the interview very well in an insightful and scrutinizing way with very assertive questions.😀
"Is not about the money, is about connecting with the audience " this is exactly my point ❤ Love her simplicity and free spirit! It’s great to see creators sharing such valuable insights. As a new creator myself, I'm excited to explore similar topics and connect with others on this journey of creativity and learning.
This video is such a gem. One of the best videos anyone could watch on YT right now to learn not only about YT shorts but in general how content creation works. The kid is brilliant.
I never heard of either of you until today. Your video popped up as a suggestion, and I had to comment. I am so awed by the respect you show Jenny. You mention that she is a young creator, but you address her like she's a CEO or something. She obviously knows what she's doing. I love seeing young people recognized and respected for their talents and skills, and loved the (seemingly genuine) respect you showed her! I have so much respect for both of you!
@@traderzzz123 I don't agree - unless nothing and no one else is going to go viral ever again. There's so much info being dropped here. If others can't find any value/way to fit it to their own modus operandi, then.. it's on them.

@@africkinamerican Did she say that? Because one of the best ways to "cash in" is to provide free value like this, this makes the people rush to ask you for more... that's when you charge.
this is probably one of the most helpful videos our there on how to make UA-cam shorts - and pretty much short content in general! the examples are soo clear and helpful to visualize.. great interview!
I haven’t seen many of her videos but I do recognize her voice and I think what is overlooked in this video is the tone of her voice is authentic, believable, unique and her ability to inflect is a lot more enticing for her audience and something not discussed at all. Just listening to these two converse it’s very apparent. No disrespect to the interviewer but her voice is 100 times more enticing to listen to vs his. I appreciate this conversation tho and intend to dive more into being more strategic to grow my channel
I randomly came across this video and learned so much. Obviously, passion for your craft played a huge role in her success. You can tell by how excited she is to share her findings and experiences. Great content, man! Subscribed..
Wow I am so impressed with this entire interview, the interviewer listened really well and asked such great questions & follow up questions! And she is just incredible, I love how systematically she approaches every single detail of the whole process
Jay, you are a great host and an expert, of course!! and Jenny is amazing. one thing: I wish she would talk more about the "thumbnail" frame and titles.
All she said is understandable if you have common sense, i don't get it how can a grown man find this crap somehow helpful Jay delete this woman's vide and don't embarrass yourself
The one thing I liked more than the interview itself is that he asked ALL the important questions. I loved this! I've never watched a video where I felt that everything was presented and answered
Just started and love her! At the beginning about the stove being broken so she has to raise money, being invested, and having a story is so true. What solidifies this is... think about how you feel when a story gets cut short or no end??? Its soooo frustrating. Thanks for sharing!
*What a compelling and engaging interview with Jenny Hoyos! Thank you for chatting with her, 'cause I learned a lot! Love the way her mind works!* Kudos to you for going after the 'nut,' and seriously engaging this bright, young mind for all the insight she could share/shared.💚💖💚 (Lol, did you use one of her techniques and just 'end' your video, no closer or kicker?)
Wow, how she is simply saying and explain the complex thing in a very simple way. She really know about the back end of how every video will be viral and grab audience retention with hook and shadowing.
She's extremely intelligent and spot on with the mass appeal bit. Not only are younger audiences going to get more views but it also allows those whose first language isn't English a higher chance to stay engaged and able to follow the content.
Jenny Hoyos, you did an amazing job of sharing your knowledge in this UA-cam short! Your clear and concise explanation of the material was a great help. Thank you for taking the time to create this valuable resource!
Jenny is brilliant and genius. Can you imagine she has a passion for mathematics, analytics and technicalities for these social media platforms? She really is so passionate about her craft in social media. The amount of detail she gave and the lessons we learned from this interview is insane. She could have sold it as a course, but she shared it with us for free. While many of us are just comfy about shooting and video editing. This young woman is a gem. Thank you, Jenny and Jay.
Fantastic interview. I am ashamed to say I had not heard of @jennyhoyos until this interview but the Hook "I can make anything go viral" got me interested. I glanced at how long the vlog was and thought I would give it 5 minutes but watched it all and took notes. A very hard working, fun, genius. I am a fan now and thank you not only for the information in this vlog about creating good shorts, but also for your content as it stands. Brillinat.
Thie is one of the best interviews ive seen so far about any topics. Great content, great question, follow up questions, amazing listening skills, and Jenny wow her knowledge based is out of this world! Geeat job you too!!!
Half way through the video and already one of the best interviews I have seen in a while. Great detail, she actually knows what she's talking about. Jay is asking great questions and not interrupting. Amazing insight.
Allow yourself to immerse yourself in it as it arises while remaining detached from outcomes or expectations. At the beginning, see yourself as a sponge. Simply consume this content because you find it interesting, and make mental notes of those things that you found particularly intriguing. Then, start your own journey of trial and error. Remember those things that caught your eye before and see if they can be applied to your situation. That's it. Naturally, one or two things will most strongly draw your attention. You will focus on those to the exclusion of all else once you have become resolute.
That isn’t true, you simply learn one thing at once until you understand it well, if you were immortal you could learn everything, and being immortal is biologically feasible with modern medical technology
Love this video and both of you speaking. Mad respect for Jay being amazingly attentive listener, fantastic questions and being able to repeat retained information for confirmation. And to Jenny for the analytical, strategic pieces with on the fly examples.

Real s*** , i love to see young people thriving with the new technology. She definitely gotta new fan here
As an English teacher, I may have to teach the concept of making a short with Jenny’s approach so that students understand writing better. This is basically writing and how we teach it: hook as your attention grabber in writing, thesis statement, and transitioning to different paragraphs, etc.
the attention span that is becoming average will not get through a paragraph these days before they get bored and look for something else to do
As a writer, who has a B.A. in English - I think the only solution is to go back to diagramming sentences.
Its amazing how he allows the guest to talk. He asks great questions and then lean back. No interruptions.

Can’t believe someone who is 18 years old has mastered content creation like this. It’s incredibly impressive.

Tbh the product of Gen X and millennial parents/teachers vs the Boomer’s adage of ‘children should be seen, not heard’

00:00 🚀 Jenny Hoyos, an 18-year-old UA-camr, has garnered over 600 million views in the past year on UA-cam shorts.

Well done!
i noticed this also :D
Exactly!! 👏🏼 This is my 1st time seeing Jay or Jenny! Let me start off by saying I...ENJOYED EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF THIS❣️
Y'ALL ARE REMARKABLE 💕
That thumbnail intrigued my curiosity and I was definitely not disappointed!
I'm thrilled to find y'all and subscribing NOW❣️ 😊
I agree fully
Same this is the first time I've seen this channel and it was a brilliant interview 👏🏾
YES SHE IS GREAT
She's a data science pro...scrape, analyse, master the key formulas and adopt it for any given idea 👏 Great video
I wouldn’t go as far as science a data science pro😂 but she’s a good analyst
@@NnamdiNw I disagree. She scraped the data to analyse it 😊
@@donna-elizabeth scraping data doesn’t make you a data scientist. A software engineer can do the same and it was a manual copy and paste job.
@@NnamdiNwWell I guess we'll agree to disagree 😊
@@donna-elizabeth are you data science professional? Because I’ve been a data scientist for 7 years now. I wouldn’t think this is a agree to disagree situation 🙂
I'm diving into making shorts now, and this interview felt like a masterclass you'd normally have to pay for. I can't believe it's free! Jenny was so confident and knowledgeable about everything she discussed. The best part was when she said, "I first decide whether I want to work on this idea or not; I don't think about virality. I want to make it. I will configure it." That line was pure gold. I hope I can apply these insights and revive my channel!
I feel like this was an entire content creation course that she just gave for free while having fun.
She’s amazing 🎉
He*
@@joshb6779 She*
yes, super generous
yes she just gave us the condensed version of her technique. very cool!
Yeah, she could have sold courses, but this guy was clever about mining her for profit.
Thanks for this. Jenny is an inspiration. I'm 77 and I'm just getting started. I understand her wanting to move on to long form videos. I've been having so much fun learning something new. I made a 1 minute 20 second video that I'm so proud of. Never thought I could do something like that.
That is amazing!! 😍
This young woman is SO TOGETHER. What an inspiration
She is amazing. As a person. She just radiates energy. Awesome. AND super useful. Came for info, stayed for the aura of Jenny.
I did a quick video about the best frozen pizza ever made, followed Jenny’s method from what I could remember, I improvised a little, and with that one video my stats jumped up an insane amount! Took me from an avg. of 20 views per video to 1.5k on that one UA-cam short!
U get any money for that
@@Wexfordpunisher not yet, there’s a certain criteria you have to hit before you can start getting paid
@lifewithmochi I'm tryin do the same thing any hints

Watching this felt like I took a mini course on social media virality. Jam packed with powerful content.
FOR FREE 😄😄😅
Crazy that the channel had less than 20k subs 3/4 months ago when this was uploaded, and has grown 3x since. Clearly putting it all to good use. Great job!
Yo, fellow creators! How are we supposed to grow when the big guys are using stuff like zem rush and social plus to boost their visibility? It’s like we’re all grinding in slow motion while they’re speeding ahead. Best of luck to all of us out here 😅
Totally agree
Don’t you think UA-cam give shadow bans because of such practices?
Wouldn’t consistency in quality and quantity be the best thing you can do?
@@Brainzzles doesnt seem like it
Nothing wrong with using extras. You can do it too. And you are not in a competition with other "big" creators.
@@therealfreemanx Excellent…power on!!
Bro she is a regular kid , it’s easier to learn more than ever
@@1clarencepYou literally proved my point. The reason you don’t notice how she speaks and what she’s saying is because your own grammar and speech is so limited. Your one short sentence proved that.
Message to small creators: Never give up guys our time is coming.
Amen amen
They absolutely could figure it out; they don't want to. They want to keep all the profits for themselves. Y**T*** exploits their creators.
She has long-form content on YT as well as merch. Plus, she's on IG and TT. I guess that helps 🤷♀️
It isnt just about what it makes short term, 600 million views brings you an audience for future shorts/longer videos/other revenue streams. Also, $$$ amount vary on platform to platforms, i had a 90 second reel on facebook that got 5 million views and that alone brought in around $6000.
$48k is good money it's 4k a month, considering you spend $1000 on rent, $500 on food, you are left with $2500
@@MishaElRusito You missed the part about paying the editor and paying the taxes. And yes, I said that as an 18 year old, whatever happens to be left is still good. Hopefully she can monetize her shorts on other platforms to receive the money she truly deserves as an excellent content creator.
This girl is so brilliant. She deserves all the success she has found. Thanks for sharing
I'm amazed that I couldn't stop watching. Jenny is delightful. So bright, sweet and fun. She deserves all the credit for her success.
I'm stunned... Just amazed at how young this creator is but the amount of analysis done, the knowledge shared, the energy, every spoken details is mesmerizing.
Thank you for this interview. I love the positive energy!
It's giving ADHD with a new hobby. I live.

Id be happy to
This was a not just a shortrs MASTERCLASS, but on storytelling and video content in general.

Good observation!
Same here 😅
Same exact feeling! It was great seeing this interaction!!
Agreed!
You'd think people would keep all that info to themselves - she's intelligent and generous with her knowledge!
If shes ready to spill the beans, just means she got what she needed and everyone else will be too late to the game.
@@traderzzz123 I don't agree - unless nothing and no one else is going to go viral ever again. There's so much info being dropped here. If others can't find any value/way to fit it to their own modus operandi, then.. it's on them.
@@traderzzz123 or that she realizes that she's giving general knowledge and that the opportunity is still huge but more competitive.
Sharing and giving as Mr Beast does is the secret 🤫
@@rainbow_flo um no, secret is how to get on that level to have enough resources and money to give away. You're skipping to the results, but HOW do you have enough to give away is the real question, durrrrr
A lot of people have got time on their hands. If you want to be a UA-camr the time is now, people are waiting to watch.
He did a GREAT job interviewing this young genius. He was able to get her to tell every industry revolutionizing idea she has come up with and provide actionable steps for free… I hope she takes as much away from this experience as he did. For those paying attention, this information could be life-changing.
I 100% agree
Simple writing 101. If anything it could be disheartening to most because what this video does best is highlighting how smart and talented SHE is lol
@@Loyalhusband I mean, you gotta be super insecure to be disheartened by someone else's smarts and talent.
She's now regretting she didn't turn her insights into a course or e book and cash in.
@@africkinamerican Did she say that? Because one of the best ways to "cash in" is to provide free value like this, this makes the people rush to ask you for more... that's when you charge.
To say Jennyhoyoslol is amazingly talented is an understatement. I think what amazes me the most is her ability to contextualize her process.
18 years old??? Holy cow, how do you know so much at such a young age. Very impressed.
Please bring her back for another talk like this for her long form content, but wow! This is so valuable! Thank you both! Respect ✊🏽
this is probably one of the most helpful videos our there on how to make UA-cam shorts - and pretty much short content in general! the examples are soo clear and helpful to visualize.. great interview!
This young lady is wonderfully well spoken and thoughtful in her actions. Parents did a great job and so has she.
Met Jenny at VidSummit this year, she's great and super talented! Great interview Jay!
I was married to a Grammy award winning songwriter for many years, and the things she says sounds just like the way he went about writing hit songs.

She’s gonna be a force to be reckoned with. She’s only 18 killing the game geeez! Super proud of her.
Wow, how she is simply saying and explain the complex thing in a very simple way. She really know about the back end of how every video will be viral and grab audience retention with hook and shadowing.
Wow! This is her passion. She would be a great teacher/mentor as she explains concepts so easily.
I was not aware of this young lady; but she is very intelligent and offers fantastic advice. TY & she seems like a genuinely wonderful person.
i love how confident and like happy she sounds the combo makes it seem really genuine
Her answers were so straight to the point and so clear. It takes skill to even do that. Thank you guys!
Thank you so much to Jenny and to you! This is such a wonderful conversation and I appreciate all of the time and energy that went into it!
Amazing how she can break it down into these identifiable steps that can be applied to any content. Thank you!
Brillinat.

Half way through the video and already one of the best interviews I have seen in a while. Great detail, she actually knows what she's talking about. Jay is asking great questions and not interrupting. Amazing insight.
Does anybody else feel like there's just so much to learn, you'll never get your head around it all?
Specialisation is key
Focus on one thing like her
No - Only a fool would try to know everything
This woman is amazing, and i’m so grateful to the interviewer who didn’t try to overshadow her. Amazing!
Great Interviewer + Guest. This was really wonderful to watch!
Love this video and both of you speaking. Mad respect for Jay being amazingly attentive listener, fantastic questions and being able to repeat retained information for confirmation. And to Jenny for the analytical, strategic pieces with on the fly examples.
