- Enjoy a Friendship boat ride around the World Showcase Lagoon at Epcot, filmed on March 24th 2024 from around 4:45pm - 5:30pm. The Morocco boat dock is temporarily closed for refurbishment, so the Germany dock is finally being used again for the first time in a few years.

I think the last time I rode these boats we boarded at Germany. It's been awhile for sure. The views you get are fantastic. Tfs 4K!
Oh wow yep it’s definitely been a few years then! I think the last time the Germany dock was open was before the pandemic! I do enjoy the views a lot for sure, and it’s a good way to take a break from walking if needed. Thanks so much Andrew!

Even though it really doesn't go anywhere, its just a great trip in the lagoon with sights of World Showcase!
Haha that’s true, it’s honestly just there to relax a bit, enjoy the views and to also save some steps if you’ve been there walking all day long!

⚓Excellent the dock is back in use! Ride is longer/diff than the one from Morocco, so I hope it stays. Next trip I will find out the backstory of the rigged ship behind the stage of the American pavilion. Why they hide stuff is beyond me. We knew "THAT" sign was on borrowed time so I'm happy I've got a great shot of it. (speaking of water, heard there now water & music coming from Tiana's. Can't wait to see if you were able to film any of it) Ahoy & thx 4💜
I agree, this route using the Germany dock is much more scenic! That ship in America is so cool, and I think it was recently repainted/refurbished too. Yep that Future world sign was for sure gonna go eventually, it honestly lasted longer than I thought lol. Unfortunately I didn’t hear any of the music at Tiana’s today, or see any logs going down the drop🙃 I’ll keep trying though. Thank you so much Liz!
I can kick myself for never going on one of the Friendship boats on my previous visits. I won’t make that mistake again. Guess this will have to hold me for now 😊. Thanks 4K

Love a boat ride at WDW!! I will have to remember these in coming visits. Instead of walking around the world (showcase), can have a world (showcase) cruise!! That comment comparing to The Jungle Cruise was funny 😊 4K, you find all the best to share with us!!

Love the friendship boats, although I don't ride them enough. They offer such a unique and rarely seen view of Epcot. And who knew there's a WHOLE ship behind the America gardens theater!?
Yep that ship has always been there but it’s so hard to notice it! It was recently refurbished too, so it’s cool to see Disney putting some money into it to keep it fresh!

I've always walked around the lake, so enjoyed seeing the views when using the boat.
I noticed at the end, two curved "barges" in the water. I assume they are for the new fireworks show.
Question: Do they stay in the lake all the time?

Yep those barges are for the fireworks! They aren’t out all day thankfully, Disney brings them out usually between 2pm - 3pm so the lagoon is clear before that! Thanks so much as always Ken!!

It all depends on my walking
I do know they were recently repainted, but I’m not sure how often these boats are replaced(or if they ever have been haha). I hope everything works out for you and that you and your dad can come in October!

Are there still fugly barges on Showcase Lagoon?
Yep, they bring them out usually around 2pm -3pm ish so the first part of the day the lagoon is barge free
Do the boats no longer dock at any other countries besides Germany?
The Germany dock was only temporarily used for a short time this past spring. The only docks currently used are the one near Canada and the one in Morocco, the rest aren’t used anymore unfortunately
This is sort of EPCOT’s version of the Resort Monorail. It’s a nice diversion when you just want to chill during an afternoon walking about the World Showcase. 🚝😎🍿
Haha yea, this does offer some great views and also helps rest your feet if you’ve been walking all day long!
