I met Henry on December 12th. Just a quick exchange of hellos and thank yous. I was at an event in Portland, Oregon, but it was one of the most wonderful nights of my life. I'll never forget it as long as I live. He was absolutely amazing. He stayed after the show to take pictures with every member of the audience (probably around 500 people). I just love him to pieces.
Henry Winkler has always been a class act. I remember hearing a story in that 2021 Netflix Pat Morita Documentary about how when Morita got wasted before a Happy Days Anniversary Show Henry covered for him with no judgement. Really, Really good dude.
LOL...that's what I was thinking. He's either drunk(a little) or he's just a legend and at 76 and having played one of the most iconic roles of all time...has just zero fucks left to give. Something pops into his head, it comes out the mouth...as it should with legends like that!
Just spent three days with Henry at a fishing lodge, and he could not have been a more perfect guy. Kind, approachable, engaging, gracious. And his wife Stacey is a doll. I wish I'd seen this clip prior to meeting him......pretty dang hilarious. As others have said, what a treasure he truly is.
I love Henry! What a joy, I love how he has is own stream of thought and just keeps going when Rich tries to get a word in edgewise. And what a great story about Rocky.
If it were anyone else constantly interrupting the host, it would be annoying, but with Henry it was just pure gold. I couldn't help but smile every time
Such an enjoyable interview, Rich! It can't be easy when your subject grabs the steering wheel and drives the dialogue, but you handled it beautifully by stepping aside and just letting Henry go wherever he wanted. Such amazing stories from one of the all-time greats! What a career Henry has had.
I love how all of Henry's conversations are filled with hyperbole. "Snorkeling through drool..." and so many others. He paints so many pictures with his words. A truly eloquent and entertaining speaker. Oh, and Rich always gets the best out of his guests. It can't be lost that a lot of his questions must come from research, as well as being a fan of many of his guests, so he knows their work. You don't even notice it because he is so smooth and entertaining as well, lots of laughter.
Some interviewers talk more than their guest. Not Eisen. He evokes memories and let’s them talk. Winkler is an incredible storyteller. He’s very humble and uses his stories to poke fun at himself!
Well, not really. Those of us who grew up with it just remember it fondly because it brings back childhood memories. But, try getting through it now, it's still charming but mostly unwatchable. Same with shows like Family Ties and White Shadow.
@@gmh471 yes I get it completely but your missing the point , simpler times ya the shows were cheesy but they were feel good shows , and bring back fond memories I wish I go have back , that's just me personally
Henry Winkler. What a likeable guy. I remember many years ago when he was King Bacchus in New Orleans he had the time of his life. Would love to hear him talk about that
I met Henry at a car show many years ago. He had written a childrens book and got to meet him and get an autograph. He was the nicest guy you could ever meet.
I’ve never heard a bad story about Winkler. With other celebrities there’s always pro and con. Not with him. Everyone always gushes how down to earth, friendly and such a sweet personality he has. Always pokes fun at himself too.
If the Thursday night booth consisted of McAfee, Winkler and Stallone I’m tuning in. No matter how bad the game I’m watching wire to wire! Blank check style totally worth while
Okay, so I'm late to this due to life and all that but I just have to say that IS one of, if not the best, CToF/interviews ever. Henry is a handful! But what great stories from a very funny and kind man. He's forever "The Fonz" cool. Aaayyyy!
Well, Henry, you will enjoy this. They were not running backs, but very recently Jewish offensive linemen brothers Mitchell and Geoff Schwartz both had substantial careers in the NFL.
@@alaskau9175 I don't get the sense that Henry Winkler really is all that into sports, including the NFL, to the extent that he would know this. More likely, he saw Mahomes a couple of times having great games and just became mesmerized by his athleticism. Ask him who won the Super Bowl this past season and I bet he would have trouble identifying the team.
In Quintin Tarintion's book Cinema Speculation, he has the script that Stallone gave Winkler as Paradise Alley. When that wasn't produced Stallone wrote another movie instead and that was Rocky.
My son's company catered an event at henry's house last weekend, Winkler introduced himself to everyone working the event, real humble and nice guy.
Henry is down to earth and hilarious...truly an American treasure. What a guest.
Love Henry Winkler -- Night Shift is still one of my favorite movies, and he's brilliant in it!
Agreed❤️

Henry Winkler is numbers 1-5 of the ten nicest people who ever lived.
Exactly❤️
This is easily the best episode of the Rich Eisen show! Bring Henry back once a month! Hes gold!!!
I wish the interview would have gone another 2 hours. What a funny kind man he is
Henry Winkler has always been a class act. I remember hearing a story in that 2021 Netflix Pat Morita Documentary about how when Morita got wasted before a Happy Days Anniversary Show Henry covered for him with no judgement. Really, Really good dude.
This might be one of my favorite interviews ever, how can you not love Henry?! ❤️🎬
This was an extremely fun episode to watch. At times I got the feeling you were herding cats. Henry Winkler is an amazing person. What an interview!

Best Celebrity True or False EVER!!!! What a great interview.
I really hope he is true, and not a false human. I never knew who he was until I saw Barry. And I like him.

That was the best celebrity true or false ever. Henry is incredibly funny. His role in Arrested Development was so good.
This is one of the most enjoyable interviews I have seen. Pure Gold!!!
I could listen to him all day long. What an amazing story teller.

Henry and Rich together, two amazingly gracious, decent, and talented guys. Total joy watching this.
He’s such a funny guy but also a great actor. That scene in ‘Click’ where he is with his Son brings me to almost tears every time.
Such an enjoyable interview, Rich! It can't be easy when your subject grabs the steering wheel and drives the dialogue, but you handled it beautifully by stepping aside and just letting Henry go wherever he wanted.

A truly great interview. Winkler is pure gold.
Honestly one of the best interviews I've ever seen. This is how you do an interview.
Some interviewers talk more than their guest. Not Eisen. He evokes memories and let’s them talk. Winkler is an incredible storyteller. He’s very humble and uses his stories to poke fun at himself!
I have been watching all the true or false videos. Once I had watched Henry's, I wanted to watch the interview. So good.
What a Legend , Happy Days was one of the best shows ever !

Love love love Henry. I strive to be like him as a person!
Winkler should have his own show/podcast. The man is a kind, funny national treasure.
Probably my favorite episode ever
Class Act.
American Icon.
Heart of Gold.
Henry exudes class, and is so incredibly humble. Especially with all the success he's had, and about helping people with their success.
The best and fastest 30 minutes of my life ! Spectacular
Simply FANTASTIC interview!! Well done.

I might swap Stallone for Rich, but...
Guest of the year!
What a great interview. Such a great change of pace and refreshing
If Henrey ever records a bedtime story audiobook collection I'll never get out of bed again.
Lovely man. Fantastic talent. Also super sharp. Knows that mentioning Mahomes and Donald would get the clip more views.
Greatest segment to date! What an amazing person!
So great! Thank you for. a great. conversation, with such. a lovely,,smart man!
Aye Rich that was freaking awesome love the Fonz bro!!!!
I'm sorry, the bike from Great Escape and the Fonz's bike is the same bike....mind blown.

This is so great in so many ways
Henry is an absolute American Legend... so awesome!!!
He coached Bobby Boucher to a Bourbon Bowl victory. He knows ball.
Legendary coach of the Mud Dogs.
I went home and had a ginger ale.
John Travolta went home and bought a plane.
😆😆😆😆
What a legend 🙌❤️
Great interview...this was so much fun!
Henry’s best dramatic scene for me is when Richie get into the motorcycle accident & Fonzie talks to GD In his hospital room.
How great was this interview?
Winkler is hilarious!!! What a treasure. Anyone who has not seen Night Shift, do so, you will laugh your azz off. Launched Keaton's career.
Okay, so I'm late to this due to life and all that but I just have to say that IS one of, if not the best, CToF/interviews ever. Henry is a handful! But what great stories from a very funny and kind man. He's forever "The Fonz" cool. Aaayyyy!

"We were #1 for 5 years after that, what did i care there was a phrase? ....fuckem"
Well, Henry, you will enjoy this. They were not running backs, but very recently Jewish offensive linemen brothers Mitchell and Geoff Schwartz both had substantial careers in the NFL.
I was surprised he didn't know M. Schwartz considering the guy was Mahomes' RT.

As American treasures go, Henry Winkler has replaced Betty White.

Harry Winkler is funn af. What a treasure.
Henry interrupts Rich in every sentence. LMFAO.
Rich, you lost control of this interview in the best way.
He called halftime in a football game "rehersal", brillant!
In Quintin Tarintion's book Cinema Speculation, he has the script that Stallone gave Winkler as Paradise Alley. When that wasn't produced Stallone wrote another movie instead and that was Rocky.
