Frank Sinatra Jr. is gone now but it is so good to have this interview. It is really a 'keeper'. Jr. really knows what he is talking about. For anyone interested in His father and band music and Frank's duets album would love this. Frank Sinatra Jr. always seemed so much more serious than his dad.

Frank, Jr. was extremely, serious as well as intelligent w/a deep compassionate spirit & generosity of nature. He was a very special man. I am honored to have known him...

Frank jr. Is so well spoken, his voice is so nice. His singing voice is so like his father. Does he still sing? I had a nice voice but lost it. I am 79 now.

His memory is sensational. He not only has the stories and albums down - who doesn't, by now? - but he casually tosses in the dates, not just the years. Listening to him talk about music all over UA-cam - and there's a surprising amount of him "holding court" on American music - is highly recommended. By me, anyway. It's a rare thing to hear a skilled musician who's also articulate.

***** I agree with you. However, I still consider him a skilled musician. Not a legendary genius such as Nelson Riddle or Quincy Jones, true, but there's no shame in the fact that he "did learn a lot and (can) perform capably as conductor." He can write charts, as well. Sure, he's no Billy May but he's good at what he does. He has a reputation for being a serious studio musician who rehearses diligently. He had to learn somewhere - who doesn't? - and was shown the ropes at an early age by Duke Ellington. In 2006, Wil Haygood quoted Guitarist Jim Fox as saying he (Sinatra Jr.) "has such high standards. He knows every third trombone part, every cello part."
To me, that sounds like a skilled musician. So, I'm begging to differ.
Politely, though! Have a great weekend.

Whew! That was a close one! Every time I toss out my bone-headed opinions and a few facts, I never know if I'm going to get hammered for having a different take on things.
I looked at you favourites list and noticed you have Queen's 1981 Argentina concert. That makes us UA-cam friends! Besides having the basic Sinatra CDs and box sets, I also have an 18-inch Freddie Mercury action figure.
It's a pity no one's thought of putting out a Freddie Mercury "Barcelona" figure - he looked awfully suave in a tuxedo!

A terrific non stop interview with Mr Frank Sinatra jr regarding the songs his father sang and made famous. Good listen.

[TOPIC 1] This is a very "profound" presentation, herein, well spoken by Frank W. Sinatra. [TOPIC 2] If the air-waves are cleared-up enough (since the recording of: "AS I REMEMBER," 1996 circa) and all is better advocated, the future is up to you; The courtesy is yielded. Somewhere there is a ticket, which you may pull, beneath the sedimentary dust of time, if your dreams seek a little tang, as you admirably stretch your wings. [TOPIC 3] LAUD OF ACHIEVEMENT: Frank W. is an a true musician of dynamic talents (Don Costa's, Nelson Riddle's and Frank W.'s "achievements," [though they succeeded at different points in time], do stand equally, in each others shadows). The entire orchestra can be reworked and tapered, by Frank, himself, to present the musical setting that best suits and supports the primary theme of the musical premise. Frank also works his voice with an admirable quality, a quality that stands with integral merit, up held along side of the best vocalists. The repertoire that is pursued by Frank is diverse and well reasoned.

Professor. The picture in my mind of him as a youth with a thick pompador is such an odd juxtaposition to this level of examination of his dad's repertoire on a Duets album. You can't help asking what the greatness was in the bloodline. No less than Harold Arlen, whom he calls a genius here, Frank Sinatra Jr. was brilliant.

Wonderful track-by-track commentary by the always fascinating Sinatra, Jr., but c'mon, guys, at least spell Barbra Streisand's first name correctly! This is a professional post.

He spoke so unemotionally in every interview I ever saw or heard him give...robotic. He did not look like a happy person. Zero charisma or spark of energy to his personality.

Why is he dressed so sloppy? He could have at least fixed his collar and pressed his shirt
