@@broderickpride9124 not at the moment I sort of take care of my grandparents small farm when have ofttimes as trucker but nothing serious at the moment planning on starting out full time in the spring if the lord says the same 🙏
All good points. Also helps to have an old school rancher to help with questions you may have while ranching. I was fortunate enough to have grown up on our farm and followed my grandfather around to learn.
Good evening, from New York. Yes, that's my Bella 😂 I'm interested in a small homestead in TX. Do you have any suggestions on where I should start? I've been looking at properties on land search. Also watching UA-cam videos on purchasing a homestead..And taking a lot of notes!! Thank you so much for sharing! Ramona New York
Yes! The answer is always it depends! ☺️😂. I’m born and raised in Texas. So I love it here. Not all areas though. I like of course the Hillsboro and Waco areas. It puts me close to family. So I would ask what does a homestead mean to you? Why Texas? What are your goals with the land? What’s your budget? Not my business. But all of these questions goes back to your “Why” and what you are trying to accomplish. Did I help? Or make it worse?
@PrideRanch thank you for your response. I'm looking to be self sustainable. Having a homestead is one of my goals! In addition, I am a Chef whatever land I get. I will live off of the land. I've been preparing for sometime. To have my own Homestead, and be sustainable. I found TX you get more acres for the 💰 and I want land that's already established. And designated for a small farm etc. I'm still looking into acreage that I want. That will make sense for me and my needs. Where I can have livestock and Livestock guardian dogs etc. Thanks again! Ramona
@@ramonajohnson2738I understand. Your goals are broad enough for you to pick any location that meets your budget. The cost of acreage will vary based off the number of acres, location, and stage of development. Best thing would be to be a little more specific with your goals and get a realtor to locate property for you.
@@broderickpride9124 Thank you much! I will definitely take your advice to narrow down and get a plan together. And look into getting a realtor to assist with regards to my plans. Thank you again, Ramona

You’re absolutely right, experience is priceless! My neighbor has been that mentor for me. And I've developed relationships with several others.
Water is equally important. Learned that from you as well.
Love watching if I was younger and could start over love animals. Hope you and family will have a Merry Christmas!
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you and yours! My neighbor says I have maybe another 20 years left him me before I get tired of working cattle. 😂🤷🏾♂️
got me an Arrowquip squeeze chute this year! I had put it off long enough
Are you enjoying it? It is a must have. Difficult to work cattle without one.
@PrideRanch I'm still trying to get used to it but I think it's gonna be a huge asset to our operation
