- So we've had my friends Audi R8 V10 plus in for an oil change and out of curiosity I called the local Audi dealership for a quote for the same and yep as the title says they shocked me a little.
Since this is no ordinary oil change I though I'll share it with you guys, enjoy the video and be sure to like and leave a comment below!

For this labour would be £170 + VAT at boost performance plus the oil and filter which is £80. Bear in mind this price is for a V10 engine which takes more time to do

Audi are just mugging everyone off at this rate. They wanted £125 for a speaker girl for a standard a5, 5k for a mechatronics for a maybe fix as they didn’t know if it was that then another 12k for a new gearbox if their first idea didn’t work, plus labour to fit and a clutch. 🙃 After gearbox started over heating after they serviced it.

@@Nomad_11 Audi are know for being a rip off. They're more expensive than BMW, mercedes and lexus. RS parts can be more than Lamborghini parts on the same part number. They literally just over charge for everything as it's their prestige brand.
Just buy a Toyota reliable and the parts are cheap also you just need to get a to B anyways

Audi have just announced that this r8 will be out of production from next year, there will be a £200k r8 as a final edition, sad to see the end of production on the r8 man 😭

Here in the USA I do oil change on my cars at my home and basic stuff way cheaper and I hate waiting 2 hours + just waiting on them, they are truly rip offs and they do put cheap oil on your car not worth it, that is why my old car lasted 300K+ and was still had wonderful engine with no leaks.

Audi take the mickey with servicing costs. £441 for a basic service on my daughters Audi Q2. And when booked in they said it needs Brake Fluid at £100….
The car is 2 years old and has done 15k miles.
I know the 0W20 (green stuff) is pricey but that’s mad.
I did an oil and filter on it at 8k miles for under £80.

Had 3 oil changes done on my 2016 R8 V10 Plus at Audi Milton Keynes over the 3 years I had it and each time it was £420. Last one was beginning of this year just before I sold the car.
I think dealers charge more in London anyway due to increased overheads, also this being the 2018 model may also be the reason for increase in price
@@NamzBoost might be because you in London but no difference between 2016 and 18. Both are gen2. In some respects the 18 is worse because Audi stopped offering the optional sports exhaust around that time and removed the valve control bottom from the steering wheel. ECU map was changed as well to reduce some of the pops and bangs for noise emissions. ☹️

The first few years of owning my second hand Audi I went to Audi in the south east London Kent boarder - for mot and every time it was the best part of grand to get wheels checked and full service (always found something) . Went to another garage (actually Ford owned) and when I got the phone call for the estimate for work price - they said £120 for a few things to be replaced and mot. I asked what about the rest, as I had set aside a 1000 for issues. Audi like to rip you a new one regardless of the model or variant.
The oil change for my car was $50, with oil filter and drain screw. I did it myself, bloody easy.
Assuming you're not including oil itself which costs almost $200 USD just by itself lol

Be realistic you see the car £80,000 car youre charging a random guy £180 plus VAT.... 👀......Lol That around 1-2 hrs labour. Its realistic on my Nissan but on an R8 I cant see any garage only charging £180. Most would need to google it thats 1 hour labour added 😂

I struggle to work out the justification for £700 for 8L Oil, a Filter, Labour and VAT....
Let's say the mechanic is paid £20 an hour for ease of maths.
The Oil, let's say £100.
Then another £50 or so for the business (30%) margin.
That would be fine - But Audi sticking on another 311% is a disgrace
