the funny thing about Luna Snow in game is that she is consistently buffed by the dev team, which always puts her in the top meta position since her debut. so in game Luna is literal must-have character for all players, therefore boosts her popularity ingame a lot
she's not entirely paywalled, since new players can pick her up through a one-time premium character selector. but then the devs half-paywall her by lock her power under a skin that only sells once a year during christmas. it's very dumb to promote your own original character while also half-paywalling her like that
so not just marvel, the future fight game also lets her down by paywalling the character. this girl DESERVES better
Just a little correction - her new uniform is paywalled and can only be accessed every summer.
Nevertheless, her being consistently buffed and her being top meta in the game whenever that happens is probably the reason why players love her in that game. Setting aside the issue of mobile games thriving of predatory practices with their in-game currencies - even if you fork in the money, you get the most bang for your buck in the PVE side of the game just by simply building her up to the max.

Luna Snow getting that push, like Wave and Aero kinda did, and people going "wait, who are you?" is kinda funny, because you gotta be real into Mobile Marvel games to go "Hay, I know you!'. Weird how it's not the first time original characters from games were made, they just never made an impact.

I love how people hear the term “cold fusion” and immediately think it means “freezingly cold”, while in actuality the “cold” part actually means “colder than the Sun” 😂

I want to make a fun guess! Let's see... she's a new hero that shows a lot of promise but Marvel (for SOME REASON) slowly stop using her and just ended up putting her into the void of background superheroes..

Like, Luna and Wave are my favorite among them, but they're the ones who doesn't get enough appearances. Although, things might change for the both of them this year. We all know Luna Snow is now coming to Marvel Rivals. Wave on the other hand is confirmed for the upcoming animated MCU show, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Really-really looking forward to those!

I think they were going to make a movie and records.
but things went wrong and the movie didn't end up happening.
but we still got Dazzler out of it as a character who has become a mainstay.
also i think i saw in some text that she was originally going to be designed off of Grace Jones, but one of the higher ups changed that.

I don't understand how that would work anyway. K-Pop is all about the music and the choreographed movement. Two things that are completely lost with still images in comics.
I could see a Luna Snow story work in a Webtoon format, where panel layout directly ties to pacing, allowing the writers to script very kinetic choreographed battles. Heck, sound Webtoons aren't even that uncommon, and it would be fairly easy to have the audio track sync to the auto scroll, fully taking advantage of the culturally-relevant digital format.
@@dragonbretheren There is actually a K-pop themed webtoon that does some of that, without the music. It’s called Debut or Die and is set during an idol themed game show competition. So a Luna Snow webcomic would most definitely be possible.
It can happen, they're lots of books and novels about music even though you obviously can't hear music from words, they're still entertaining to read through. I'm sure there's also plenty of manga out there about music
Maybe they make an album with the kpop artist and release a cd/ vinyl with comics that you can read along with the music for a more physical format. The webtoon idea can work well but I’ve yet to see a successful marvel webtoon compared to dc who has a really well liked comic there. Most comic readers would probably prefer physical media over digital especially for speculators.

Joro Spider was definitely meant to be named after the Jorogumo, a spider yokai from Japanese myth, but, according to a Google search, the term Joro on its own is a term for a high class prostitute, so Joro Spider's name would translate as "Spider Whore" ... This is why you ALWAYS proofread and culturally consult BEFORE you come up with a character name.

Drake, as a Marvel Future Fight player you could've got Luna Snow with the anniversary event MFF is currently going through you could've obtained Luna Snow through the premium Tier 2 selector instead of spending £10 for her in the biometric sub
SHES SO DAMG STRONG EVEN AT HER BASIC COSTUME! I use a selector to get her to 22 and then I worked my way up to get her to tier three took forever but so worth it
I really liked Luna Snow. Every single appearance shes made in comics, i have them. But from what i heard, its hard to incorporate her due to her creators situation. You know, since she was created from a mobil game as opposed to the comics, you have a 2 separate parents situation

I’ve always adored Luna Snow, I dunno why but when I picked up future fight she instantly stood out to me and I tried to find what comic she debuted in just to find out she was an oc. I’m glad she is in Marvel Rivals so she might get more attention from fans and marvel
As an honest Luna Snow fan, I share your frustration. Even when I thought Joro Spider is so cool and is not heard again after since, she could be built off as a honest rival and many more! There are so many things that you can do with Luna Snow. Even having her song be on blast once in a while? She has her own song for Bor's sake!

It's crazy that Marvel isn't doing more with Luna snow without proud they are of future fight especially when they made her come on I'm glad she's in Marvel rivals there's so much more they can do, even Aero felt like she was getting a bit more of a push when they made her book and I loved it
This will sound weird, but I found out about Luna after Stan Lee past away. And because I was really sad at the time, I kinda grew attached to her on an emotional level.

It’s such a weird feeling that i already know exactly who Luna is since i was playing Future Fight *and* read her comics *before* Drake explains who this relatively unkown hero is.
Luna is giving me some Night Cat flashbacks. Just ya know. A bit more successful because I don't think Night Cat has been mentioned since the 90s.
Agents of Atlas was really good, however there weren't much emphasis on the characters after the event.
I was hoping they would continue pushing Agents of Atlas. Here's hoping Luna here reignites interest in that team

The issue of What If? that first gives us all the Atlas characters as a team was really cool
Having sudden flashbacks to the previous versions of this type of thing, Dazzler and Nightcat....Dazzler was a failed musical cross-promotion project that went on to greater success as a mutant hero, while Nightcat was much closer in similarities to how they made/marketed Luna (live action counterpart, music videos and singles), both good and bad.
Let me put it this way....which one had a recent cameo in "X-Men '97?"

I used to play Future Fight a while back. and I grew attached to Luna Snow as a result. She was a lot of fun to play, and I wish they'd made more of an effort to make her interesting. they definitely should have used her "black" powers more, which I took to be damaging spikes of Darkforce energy.
And yeah, the Agents of Atlas relaunch was a mess, I think Marvel needs to stick to teams of American characters (including Asian Americans, but set within America), because it's always weird when American writers try to work with "International" teams, they get too tokenized. I also think it was terribly to try and lump all their Asian heroes together, rather than just including them in the Avengers and other team books. Maybe they could have done a "West Coast Avengers" book set in San Fran, with 2-3 Asian American characters as well as plenty of other characters.
I swear I had a dream about this character before, which is weird, because up until now, I had never even heard about her. What's even weirder is the fact that the dream ended with Drake making a video about her.

This isn't the first time marvel comics have toyed with a cross promotional pop music super hero character. There was Dazzler in 1980 and Night Cat in 1991. I wouldn't mind seeing a comic where the 3 decided to form a supergroup and go on a huge world tour and get into all kinds of whacky shenanigans. It'll be like josey and the pussycats but with superheroes!

I remember when Luna was announced and was surprised of her having heterochromia, something I also have, its sad how underutilized she is considering her design is great and backstory sounds interesting, specially with all the push Marvel goes for female superheroes, but the one interesting female superhero is the one they choose to put on a team were she doesnt get almost any focus

I watch their cinematic videos repeatedly, have their songs on UA-cam Music, read their lore pages (comics and stories), and absolutely love the world they've built around the game that I've never downloaded/opened

It seems as though they're trying to create more new characters because they can't just keep rebooting/retconning the same old characters forever. Sure, some of them are going to unfortunately be swing-and-a-miss ideas (like Snowflake, Safespace, and the NEW New Warriors), but kudos for trying.
I actually like the idea of the characters mentioned. It feels like some good representation without just labeling them "The Asian Avengers" and calling it a day. I'd only really heard of a few of them; Silk, Amadeus, Jimmy Woo, "Iron Fist". Luna Snow herself is an interesting new take on the same old ice powers and I think there's a lot of potential there for a really interesting character.
I just wish instead of creating tons of new characters because others failed they work on the characters that failed to make them better.

The most surprising thing about this is that Marvel Future Fight is still going. I played it for a few years before they leaned HARD into a "pay to win" model. With their predatory pricing, and the general let-down of the MCU's Phase Four, I'd have figured it had died during the pandemic.

@@luqmanhakimi7139 That's good, I guess? I remember playing for a year or two, and quitting when they shifted their best characters to behind paywalls. Characters and uniforms that were defining the PvP meta were all only available for cash. It was no longer possible to get a full roster of all the characters for free.
Not wanting to pay $20-30 a month on their silly game, I quit.

Personally, I think they should hire a Korean Manhwa team to make the comic. Marvel has been losing out lately to manga and manhwa, Luna would be an excellent chance to get in on that.
Release it as Manhwa books instead of as comic books and have some guest appearances once things are going well.

Luna Snow was my main in Marvel Super Wars. Like honestly she was my go to hero in the game and I’ve mastered her character like players legit hated me when I used her special skill. Sad that marvel super wars got terminated and only lasted 4 years but I dominated that game with her lol.

I had really high hopes for Luna Snow as I really enjoyed what LOL did with KDA and their music was really good. So when I saw Marvel was going to attempt the same thing with Luna Snow I was interested but then was disappointed by the unused potential of the character. They only released like 2 songs and she never really got her own books outside of her small run. I was kind of hoping that maybe she would become a member of the Avengers with as much as Marvel was trying to hype her up. Whats sad is that you could do alot with her especially with marketing they could even have done a crossover with Spider-Gwen and have Luna and the Mary Janes do a fun crossover album. Unfortunately Luna Snow joins the list of characters Marvel forgets they have but the companies that make their games remember for example she will be a playable character in Marvel Rivals.

Knowing the full context on how people recruit K-pop idols. I rather them lean on how absolutely screwed the K-pop industry actually is. Sexual Assault, Zero Autonomy, No relationships, Restricted to the "Innocent and sexy" image, awful pay, terrible working conditions etc.
Its pretty cool they got a member of less well known group like Busters rather than a larger one to bring in popularity. Its probably jusy because its cheaper but its nice anyway
