Admiration & thanks to the seat-of-your-pants retelling of this great adventure. Felt as if I was in the cockpit with the whole crew, sweating & all afraid as one.
Wow thanks for this. Got the novel with the game back in the early 90's. The novel was slightly shorter than the manual that you used to get with games then. Halcyon days.
In my opinion, the movie is okay on its own. I do wish they stuck more to the book. Recently, Carroll Ward did an interview with Stephen Coonts and he shines more light into the movie side of things.

One of my favorite books as a kid

The photo is of a KA-6D tanker assigned to Attack Squadron 34, my first squadron, when they were on USS John F Kennedy, CVA-67.
Read the book, saw the movie, loved it!!!
Love this book
Thank you
Frank Converse and Claude Akins starred in the 70's drama "Movin' On" about two 'gypsy' Tractor Trailer drivers on the Open Road.
Am I crazy or were some chapters left out? Maybe I drifted off and missed some. Great book.
The movie, based on this book, was trash.
