- Piofiore is coming to the west in October! Yay!
To express my excitement for this otome game, I decided to make a brief piofiore review video covering some key points about the game, to help you make a decision on whether to purchase this otome game or not (I'm not biased at all 😂)
NOTE: I do truly apologise for my horrific pronunciation and butchering of the italian language. Unfortunately it's not like a menu at a restaurant where you can just point at the words lol.

He’s just such a good guy but not in a FZ boring kind of way 🤣
Yang is one of my favorite characters of all time !! I love that he is so unpredictable 😄
That’s exactly what is so awesome about him! His bad ending was one of my absolute favourites because it was so “him” 😍
But i really love dante too 😍 i always have trouble choosing between those two :)) dante is husband material and yang is just so.. yang 😄
Ahh that is true! Although I’ve never been able to get into the kuudere type for some reason 🤔 Yang is definitely a unique character! 💕
i already know he'll be my favorite 😂 i simp way too hard for the nasty evil boi characters and his voice is unbelievably gorgeous
@@AoiUsagiOtoko Yes! I like the unbelievable characters because they’re the ones I tend to avoid in real life due to risks out-weighing the benefits 🤣
I was sooo disappointed that I couldn't play Gilbert's route first, but after playing through Dante, Orlock, and Yang's route, it makes sense story wise. I was a bit biased for Gilbert at first because he's voiced by Impey Barbicane in Code Realize, Shikamaru from Naruto & hearing his voice just makes me feel so happy inside. I just started playing Nicola's route and I can definitely see the appeal after playing a few chapters. I'm glad you took the time to review this game. I hope to see you review Cafe Enchante when it comes out in November!

And yeah I wasn’t sure whether to mention the route restrictions or not because I wasn’t sure how “spoilerry” people would take it as 💧but I guess it helps make the story flow clearer. Nicola’s bad ending it 😍👌 (or at least I thought it was lol). Going to start playing Enchente next week in prep for a review pre release! 🤞Hopefully I make it in time 😂

I’m glad I was able to give you some information about it! Collar x Malice is also a really good game so I would 100% recommend you get it in the future, but they are both so different that I can see a divergence in preference 😊

@@chuukuu I’ve played both and I like Collar X Malice overarching story more but Piofiore has better characters imo. Yang and Orlok are amazing. The only one I liked from Collar x Malice was Okazaki

Thanks for taking the time to give such an in-depth review of this game! I was looking for some more information about it before just shelling out all of that money and this video was seriously helpful. I really appreciate the content warnings too, so I'm not going in blind! Hearing more about each character has definitely piqued my interest; looks like I've found my next otome game 😄

I finished Nicola, Yang, and Dante's route so far. They're all very good. But Yang's route is just amazing I wish I saved it for last.. Dante = calm prince type. Nicola = flirty/ nice guy . Yang = bad boy . Orlok = mysterious type. Gilbert = outgoing type
You’ve summed it up pretty accurately there! 😁 and yesss! Yang was so good! And I loved his bad route - very rare for me to say this as I usually hate the bad endings 😨
@@RestingPeachFace omg same!! I thought I was the only one.. I felt like a masochist. Probably because he is such a challenge, you never know what he's thinking. Makes you think back on your choices and you're like "dam I wish I didn't choose that". I like Yang because he praises you when you are smart and not oblivious to your surroundings. Good end MC is really the perfect match for him because she knows what he's thinking.

That “not sure what he’s going to do next” feel isn’t something you come across often in otome games and I think they did a really good job with it 🥰
i didnt realize there was not going to be a "rout select page" like in other otome so I spent most of nicola's route waiting to choose a character I actually wanted to be with, and by the time I figured it out I was too late and got the bad ending. I was kinda a huge bummer so now I don't really feel like picking up the game again to try the other routes, since honestly nicolas rout was unbearably boring to me. might just be the bad ending where I am a locked bird tho

I’m thinking about getting Piofore but quite a few people say that the main character (Lili or something) was vexing to the point of not playing the game or just continuing to play it just for their character they want to be with. I mean I don’t know, I get that Lili was from a church and stuff but a lot say that she didn’t really do much when it came to the plot and stuff and that basically all she does is sit in the mansion waiting for the male to return but then again it’s understandable since outside is like… a battle field. But Dante, Yang, and Orlok seem really interesting… lol
I feel like it really depends on the type of person you are! Personally I really liked Lili because she is psychologically strong enough to tolerate all the nonsense she is forced to go through. Imo it only makes sense that she would quietly sit back while everything goes down - she probably would die otherwise LOL
However I also understand that some people really want a proactive independent MC, which is fair enough! No otome game is for everyone afterall 🤭

Resting Peach Face ahh... aksys has been horribly sexist towards the industry, as shown in their interview abt piofiore and cafe enchante. Not to mention the translation errors that has been a constant since hakuoki ? If you search up on twitter, you'll see a bunch of fans complaining about aksys ahaha
Oooh I was totally unaware of this 😲 that sucks considering Aksys is one of the very very few who localise these games 😞

They said they don't want Otome games to be directed to a female audience, so they make the summaries more about the plot rather than the romance. Basically as another comment on the article says Girly=Bad, according to Aksys.
Its like Cardcaptor Sakura again.
I'm worried if this is the reason why some of the more fluffy ones aren't being localized. I would so want Cupid Parasite be localized.

I can understand why they want to localise games that are more suitable for all audiences but there are so many games out there that are targeted towards dudes it would be nice if we got ours as well 😞
They are probably thinking that if they gradually make otome games a thing for all genders then more people would buy them but I completely disagree. They should shift their resources more into research on what the majority of the current target audience wants and then work on those games.
I’d love love LOVE if they localised Cupid parasite too! That game is one of my favourite games, in fact it’s in my top 5.
They may also want to try and localise games with gameplay as that may attract more people who are opposed to the idea of games that consist only of reading (me two years ago lol).
Then again, what would I know? I’m not an expert on economics or marketing 🤷♀️

All the characters seem really intriguing,in particular Gilbert(totally my type lol😂). Can you recommend me some sites where i could buy it?(i'm sure it'll very difficult to find sites that can ship to Italy😔).
I'm not the maker of the video, but Piofiore is being localized by Aksys Games, which has a European store. You can preorder it on their site! If you're unsure about shipping, you can always contact Aksys through their email to inquire about that. I'm pretty sure Piofiore is also available to preorder from Amazon, though I'm not completely sure. It wouldn't hurt to check!
If you're looking for the Japanese version, then the first place that pops into mind is JP Amazon. You may have to use a Proxy like White Rabbit Express though. I believe Play Asia also works as well! You could also preorder the English version from Play Asia as well. Searching up "Piofiore" in their store should get those results to pop up.

Piofiore: Fated Memories was worth it for me because of Yang and Gilbert. I found Nicola's route more interesting than Orlok's, but I like Orlok fairly well as a character, but I don't like Nicola - and while I can enjoy characters that make me feel something other than affection, it really irked me how much time I had to spend with Nicola in the first half of Dante's route. (On the other, other hand, I think there should have been at least one or two more lines about Nicola at a certain point in Gil's route.) Maybe I wouldn't have minded these Nicola moments as much, if I had played Dante's route first. Something about Dante feels like a missed opportunity to me, and I wonder if Piofiore: Episodio 1926 would make me like him more. I know I'd like more time with Gil, but IDK if 1926 would be worth it for me?
I know what you mean with the 'why can't you go away for a bit' characters in some routes 🤣
Another issue I think I had with Dante route was that he was working so much there was so little screen time of him and Lili until about mid way through the route. Iirc, I enjoyed his route a bit more in 1926 though. If you really enjoyed the main game, I would highly recommend it! Although caution on the bad endings because I've heard that some of them are even more brutal than in the main game. It's something to note depending on whether you hate them or not (I love them though haha)
I’m going to write down the character routes for the game because I’m always worried about saying the wrong thing and getting the bad ending. Now, do I need to play the game again to see the “meanwhile” parts of the game?
I know what you mean, I always try to get the best endings first and then mentally prepare myself for the bad endings and collect them all at once in an emotionally detached state! So, the “meanwhile” parts, if I remember correctly, determine what ending you end up in. You have to be really careful which parts you do and don’t watch. For example, if you watch too many related to Dante in Orlok’s route, I believe you end up reaching Orlok’s bad ending. Ngl it’s a pain in the ass to complete this game without a walkthrough to the extent now I’m tempted to translate a Japanese one for all of you guys to use 😅
So I need to play the game normally then do the “meanwhile” parts after the routes are over? And is this optional?
I personally watched all the MW parts in my first playthrough as that way you get the whole picture of that route. Some MW parts are compulsory but you’ll know because they automatically start.
Ok. One more thing I would like to point out. In the prologues, it says that some of the choices are available after their route is over. That’s very confusing and makes no sense.
I believe those options appear on your second play through and the reason is (I could be wrong) because you can only choose from Dante/Nicola, but then after playing a route it unlocks yang or Orlok, etc, so adding the dialogue allows for more combinations to reach the beginning of other routes as opposed to it still being limited to just Dante or Nicola.
I know this is old, but the game just went on sale and I'm considering it and the sequel since they're 70% off. do you remember if the game contains any r@pe scenes, or if the love interests ever SA the player character? and if so, are they part of the best ending, or can I avoid them if I just follow a walkthrough? I can handle the drama and gore and torture mafia shtick, but SA is my hard limit.
So... as someone who is into the more dodgy themes, I was actually disappointed this game didn't have any in it!
The one character where there was anything remotely sexual was probably Ignis, and that was him licking her hand, so if you were ok with that then I think you're safe!
However, I would (just in case) look for reviews from Blerdy Otome or OtomeKitten for more info, just in case! (They will probably also reply to you on twitter DMs if you wanted to make it 100% sure with them as well!)
@@RestingPeachFace yeah I kinda figured as much after what you said with Yang lol some of the art with him and descriptions I've seen, it sure looks like he gets real close which made me really nervous. as a survivor I just want to avoid it as much as I can, since it's not just a ~fun spicy plot point~ for me, and it's real frustrating how common it is and no one (at least on the developer side) thinks to trigger warn for it =/

It’s a difficult language, I just got lucky I was brought up with it really 😅 and ok, so the localised games that I have played are: Collar x Malice, Amnesia, Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly, and Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds. My favourite out of those was Collar x Malice (the story is good and it makes you want to keep playing right until the end), but if you really want to cry then Hakuoki is perfect.

Also I’m planning on trying to see if I can play Cafe Enchente before it’s release date to do a review on that as well, but it depends on how much time I have.

Ahhh this is so frustrating because I haven’t played code;realize! Although if I were to go by personal preference from what I know of code;realize (synopsis, characters, theme, etc), I would probably prefer code;realize, but they are so different it would be like comparing apples and pears 🤔

Piofiore or Collar x Malice?
I personally like Collar x Malice more, but they’re on the same level in terms of quality and gameplay. I think if you prefer investigative games set in a dangerous modern setting then collar x malice, if you prefer action packed games in a vintage setting with slightly more eroticism then Piofiore. The reason why I liked Collar x Malice more is because I liked the fact that every route revealed more about the terrorist group, but Yang in Piofiore is my favourite out of all the characters in both games 😁

I haven’t played unlimited yet! I’m always a bit hesitant with FDs because I don’t know how much I would like them :s but if you really really enjoy the main game then the FD would probably be good as I’m aware the characters are a lot more romantic with the MC in it 🙂
