That iron daemon was probably the most psychotic war machine I've ever seen in a total war game. From blowing up its own troops to unleashing everything just to kill that one elf to firing on itself just to kill the things surrounding it, I wouldn't be too surprised if it decided to kill what's left of its army once the battle was over.
I was looking at this and was like "Damn, that CD player does not care about his own troops at all" and then I realized I was the one playing lmao. Thanks for casting mate!
I must say dude, i’ve been watching your video’s for as long as I remember. You play all my fav games, and even though I. Cant play much myself I find myself watching your vids and They are always so entertaining. Keep it up!!!
Dreadquake is definitely a contender for best artillery in the entire game tbh. Also, I love that we have a dedicated "choo-choo, motherfuckers" faction in the Chorfs now.
in multiplayer its actually a piece of crap. Milk and cookies doesnt do competitive multiplayer battles he does spectacle battles. cannons are amazing, deathshriek is the best option they have, of the ary units in the game about half target SE's so idk what y'all are even talking about. How many of yall play multiplayer.
Split the difference: add the minimum range back, and then give it a "safety's off" ability that shoots point blank, but damages the Dreadquake. Get out of jail, but just the once sort of thing.
@@simonsoupshark8009 In the case of he proposed ability, I think the ability is what would damage the Dreadquake, not the mortar round itself. That way you can damage the mortar without needing to rework explosions.
I mean, Dreadquake specifically could potentially do this stuff, if you get your Ogre loader to just yeet a primed shell from the wagon. I don't feel qualified to talk about balance, but I can see it work.
It should be an ability to reduce minimum fire arc with limited uses. You should also take a health penalty to simulate the bomb doing damage to the train. That way there is risk vs reward and an actual choice what strategy to use.
I was just thinking yesterday about how chorfs, specifically the dreadquake mortar, do outside of domination, but was having trouble finding footage. Your content is always serendipitous 🙏
for sure. i definitely want the train to be good and worth its cost. i just dont like the idea of the correct way to play it being "im gona shoot myself any time i get surrounded"
A counter to the quake being OP could be them adding an ability to cause a localized explosion that deals a high amount of damage to the dreadquake or outright kills it. Still gives a counter to melee troops surrounding it but it comes with a high cost
Maybe they’ve already tried something like this, but I think the Mortar should indeed have a minimum range while having a ton of mass and a point-blank knockdown ability that hits enemies with fire or steam in a decent radius. Let it escape being surrounded two or three times a battle, but still reward players for enclosing it once those ability’s charges are used up. Still fun seeing it demolish everything, even if it was silly.
Total war just wasn’t the same without Indy’s land battle casting. And seriously, I don’t care that it isn’t balanced, I’m firing up a Chaos Dawi campaign right now just because of this video. This unit looks awesome now
it's actually an animation error; in close range, that ogre that gets the shots in the back of the train actually just chucks them with his hands . Being a firebelly, he cares not for the explosion, naturally.
I didn't realize it was DRG music playing until I heard the synthwave at 3:00 and was like "wait a second, I've heard this music before somewhere" Edit: and then dawn of war 2 music? Good picks!
It would probably help the problem if they make the damage and slow scale with the range in which it fires incentivizing to use it as an actual artillery piece but has more ability to protect itself in the close range
Love the Dawn of War 2 soundtrack, issues with the game aside the soundtrack was great. Glad to see these battles coming back as well. I haven't been playing much TWW3 myself lately but feel like we're in a good time to start playing again, and I hope the DLC is well worth it.
Maybe an active ability with 1 charge to detonate a round on itself in exchange for HP would've been enough... lol Or hell, give it an ability that causes it to self-destruct in a round when destroyed. But this is just too much lol
Looks there is some problem with the hitbox, or the attacks or something. The train got flank charged and surrounded by fireborn and it took no damage. Whats more, the fireborn lost like 10-15% of their HP before the shot, from the movement of the train alone. Makes no sense.
This is a common feature with a lot of the new mobile war machines added recently. I've noticed it on Katarin's ice sled, the landship, the thunderbarge, and the trains. I think is because they move so fast through formations that when a model stops to try to hit them, the train has already gone past them and they swing into empty air, while the collision attacks mean than anything attacking them just bleeds HP. Its horrid, especially for factions that dont have any major shooting to counter them.
Off topic, but have they given ANY info on when the Khorne DLC is dropping? I swore off playing so that I would be more hyped and fresh when my favorite character comes on the scene, and I am starting to have Warhammer withdrawls I think LOL.
its not super simple to kill the train imo. the shooting troops will hurt the Dragon a lot and still damage the Phoenix so they will help zone out the SEMs while the train rampages, and if they commit too hard or at the wrong time they get pinned by Bull Centaurs and murdered. and Train will be getting nasty value the whole time its alive anyway. So its tough situation if Chaos Dwarfs play it smart, which they did here
i mean, if you think about it, there is a bit of logic: the enemy gets close to train. dawi zharr see the danger. they tell ogre to drop down a dread bomb near to fend of attackers. simple as. 100% logical
I got spanked in a match just like this as Khorne. thought it was over when i surrounded it with my anti large cav and boxed it in. then poof everything was gone but the cho cho. i agree would like it fixed makes 0 sense and is imbalanced as all hell.
I mean the melee bombs seem unfair at first but considering you can't aim the mortar at all and you suddenly get your entire fireglaive squad deleted by friendly fire it kind of evens out. Why would you bring a 3300g unit just to wipe out another one or two of your 1200g units. There's a reason no one brought it before.
wait... how the fuck does the tempest... trigger on... a floorbound entity... THATS kind of bs wasnt one of the keywords about this spell "affects flying units"? that one was NOT flying "affects unit if flying" yeah, wth
@@havocgr1976 not quite that simple to be fair, the shooting troops will hurt the Dragon a lot and still damage the Phoenix, and if they commit too hard or at the wrong time they get pinned by Bull Centaurs and murdered. and Train will be getting nasty value the whole time its alive anyway. So its tough situation if Chaos Dwarfs play it smart, which they did here
I have to say, I really dont like these OP artillery units. You cannot counter them easily with anything that is not a heavy AP directed damage. Like I get it, steampunk is cool and all, but this is a medieval fantasy game, and yea even when skaven have WW2 units you cant at least send some cheap cavalry to stop them from firing without these crazy metal tanks just removing them.
I'd be down for it if it actually fired directly into the air so there would be that 4-5 second airtime to work with instead it seems to fire straight into the ground, even behind where the barrel is facing, makes no sense and is too much.
That iron daemon was probably the most psychotic war machine I've ever seen in a total war game. The Machine Spirit was particularly wrathful today
I mean, the dawi zahr literally forge daemons into their machines. It's probably just expressing itself.
Thomas the Eversor Engine
The only argument for why the train can use the mortar in close quarter is that the Ogre that feeds the ammunition just yolo it over board 😂
And I find that hilarious😂
😂
My assessment? Umgak.

Respect the train for not letting the one remaining elf escape and deal with losing his entire squad
The DRG music fits the chorfs perfectly hahahah
