#WifiRangeExtender#DIY#Mythbusters - Наука та технологія
Why is this video taking of in 2023 😭 this video was just me trying new things and document the experience if your watching this now. Thanks you and enjoyed my suffering cringe 😂
An article someone put out that’s been getting pushed on the mobile version of Google chrome’s homepage. I’m checking to see if this is actually a thing or if this some nonsense
So i work for an ISP we specialise in internal WIFI networks. The only way tinfoil or other "reflective" materials can help is by blocking out other interference. BUT Those wireless extenders are alos a very bad idea. They relay signal but since 2.4ghz only has so mayn non overlapping channels they tend to cause more interference than increased WIFI coverage. The ONLY full proof way to improve WIFI coverage is with more WIFI access points.
in 2023 there are even more noise. The 2.4Ghz spectrum is over populated and in some high density dwellings it has become useless. 5ghz doesnt penetrate as good but is your only hope
By the way, using a piece of cardboard lined with aluminum foil(very smooth) focused in the direction of one of my wireless security cameras absolutely makes a positive difference.
Claims to have a dead spot, tests it from 10 feet away from the router instead of the dead spot. Makes perfect sense 🙄
Hey, guys, I got an idea since obviously, I don't have a big team or time to dig deeper into finding out more about what it would take to make this work. Let's tweet this video to Linus tech tips, to see if they can test this aluminum foil theory and see what their results is .
@0:56- the antennas should be vertical if the connection is on the same floor. The cans in the video are not aligned properly and can make it worse . I got 10 dbm more with the can method at the directed area.
The reason why the can worked better was because it was the only one that was perfect for the test, laziness to produce proper shields will obviously bear no fruit. Even the cans can produce more if you put just a slight bit more effort into it... take care.
This works best if your router is placed in a corner of the house. The reflectors mean you don't lose your signal to outside the house or the likes.
This video is too long, keeps buffering. Bad signal today for some reason.
Same here brother....i used aluminum foil but no significant change observed
It went from 123 mbps to 246 mbps in house on 5g with 6 walls in between, make a all aluminum sheet and angle it on both sides of the router, and make sure it’s (5g) 2.5g will improve but 5g is faster and stronger{lest stable} but more efficient
Thank you
I have the foil setup for my wifi router. My wifi is on a shelf about 7 feet off the floor. Using my roku In the room I need better signal as the tool I am measuring the gain or loss of signal. Before I added the tin foil the best wifi signal I can get is very poor. After I added the foil the signal was boosted to Good! So, I went from barely able to stream videos to no problem streaming. So, yes it works!
Thanks
The aluminium worked for me pretty well. Router in the basement me in 1st floor. Never had wifi now got good enough to watch youtube, just put alu beneath the router
Who in their right mind would put a router in a basement
@@Tenrytheone ikr
I put aluminium beneath the router and it does seem to work very nicely. Idea is to have one router for one floor only. Thus the router with aluminium at the base would not allow wifi to be routed to the ground floor, thus less interference and more reliable internet, with limited users connected to each router. Next I may try putting aluminium at top as well. Or make a special bottom and top aluminium box with all open sides.
What app is that?
the ending music is too loud, bro!
Just extending your wifi routers signal provides little to no benefit to your Internet connection. If there is a wall or anything between you and your router, extending the router itself does nothing to increase the power or connection of your phone or PC when it tries to communicate back to your router. You can't just extend one side and expect the little radio on your phone to be any louder talking back to the router. They both have antenna and it's only as good as the weakest link.
For me it appears the aluminum foil has greatly reduce my att dsl from dropping connectivity .
The aluminum foil trick worked for me.
Me too. Need to spend some time to build a design, position or whatsoever to make it. My internet speed increases up to 60% after using aluminum foil.
Dude, the difference in download speed from the Normal setup to the one with Aluminum foil is literally what i get from my provider and you call that nothing 😂😂.
My grandfather would park his combine on a hill away from his house to improve analogue television reception, worked, why?, do not know.
You did the test 10 feet away but you didn't test the dead zone? This will work over long distances.
Damn man i tust tried it and it worked
I just saw this "tip" on Snapchat, but it was with a phone, it said to use tin foil and a magnet...
It is real?
Are you a boxer? The way you spoke seems one of them, peace dude.
Actually it not boost your wifi stronger it just boost your signal
What do you mean ? Can you please explain?
Sathyanarayan T makes signal better
@@sathyanarayant4481 increases distance not wifi strength
I only want the Pepsi you can have the rest.
good video, i have a cable modem...where do i put the aluminum cardbox behind hit?, obviously if i put it in front of it it would block the remote control signals? i also have a wifi receiver, wld i add a aluminum cardboard to that?
TL DW 3:01
LoL! You dont measure speed in this thing, you measure signal strenght
Our WiFi router have no antenna
Same
Then it's an internal antenna. This might actually work better in your case in redirecting the signal..
Will wrapping the foil around the antenna work????
No this is a reflector not a antenna
That would reduce your signal. The whole point is the aluminum is relfecting the signal, not increasing it. If you wrap your antenna youre muffling it. In fact when I was in the Navy that's exactly what we did to reduce noise when pulling into port, we'd wrap our antennas in foil to eliminate receiving signals.
Can this thing boost your internet speed??
yes if the marginal signal is causing the slow speed.
I just tried the can my ping went up to 1000 and download went down from 48mbps to 26mbps
It worked for me.
did u use the can or the foil?
@@ekop1778 the foil
@@dawnpieters7591 i used THE CAN DIDNT WORK MY BOX DONT HAVE ANENNTA RODS ITS JUST A BOX ONLY YOU SAID THE FOIL TRICK WORK? MY BOX IS LIKE 50 FT AWAY AND GOT WALLS TOO
Does not dose.
Did he seriously say, "think of this sort of like a fleshlight."?
lmao
Metivs
thought he said flesh light🤪

Ui ui
It’s a myth
is not working you scammer
Nigga our wifi doesnt have an antenna... Halp!!!
