What a great looking build. I love to see different colors used than I am accustomed to seeing.

Thank you! I do to, my favorite color is purple and I really like blue next. I really love the bold colors of this time period and that is fun for me. Plus my vision is really good at picking up the different shades of color.

Great info on interior swapping, Raoul. Thanks for that. Glad to see that the paint cooperated with you this time.

Your Revell '67 Camaro SS 396 is looking sharp Raoul and it will be a real knockout when you finish it!

Great progress so far Raoul! I am hoping Revell re-releases this kit as eBay prices are quite high. Thanks for the update.

Nice! Glad you stayed with that color. You don't see many SS painted that color. Usually just plain jane 6cyl. cars. Like how its coming out.

The prices for this kit on eBay really amazes my, because thus kit isn’t really that old. I really wish that Revell would re-release this kit to drive the prices down. Good luck on finishing this one. Thanks for sharing.

I know the newer issues were produced in smaller runs and I hope they get back to producing some of them.

I wish I had picked up a few nickey kits when they were in the hobby shop. Now you can't find them on ebay for less than 75. Just curious did this kit come with any extras that the nickey kit didn't 🤔?

You have a nice build here that keeps fighting you paint-wise! You are progressing ! About the smog pumps on that 67 camaro, I don't think any 1967 car had any on. I think 1968 was the big year of gov't standards requirement for pollution and safety on automobiles. Things like rim blow steering wheels, side markers on the bodies, updated seatbelt restraints and smog pumps etc were the new things that year were adopted on cars. Just a thought here, I'm not 100% sure that 67 Camaros may have had smog pumps installed

A sharp eye on the decal. But that floating sway bar? You're a better man than me. I could never leave that alone 'till fixed.
I am shocked that you actually used the wrong driveshaft though. You can't see it has Mopar u-joints!!?? lol
    Nice work. As always.

LOL. I lost the drive shaft and that one fit without any mods. Sometimes I struggle with: I know it's wrong, but do I fix it or not? Many I just like to build and enjoy them. Most just sit on a shelf and rarely move once completed. So they look great on the shelf but you don't see the chassis or engine much unless I pick them up. Many of my showcase models haven't moved much. I dust them off, maybe polish them up and show them to you in a video. It's actually fun for me to riminess about building them.

@@TheMuscleCarModeler.I was thinking about the sway bar and wondering if the instructions say to mount it like that. I know on a real car it should be on the top side of the axle an mounted to the frame.

Looking good so far. I know how hard it must be to fight the temptation to change and modify stuff. Every time I try and build a box stock , I fail ...lol...just can’t help myself have to change and hopefully improve as much as I can.

One of the other UA-cam model builders (I've forgotten who) mentioned this. He claimed that newer kits use recycled plastics. Therefore paints should be tested on the empty sprues to test drying, curing etc.

I know its a out of box build but you could scratch build a brace for the battery. I like the color on the body.

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  2 роки тому +1

I could but the kit decal still would not fit. just easier to switch decal or don't use it at all.

Speaking of Camaro SS 396s, I just finished a 1/24 kit of a 69 SS 396 Camaro with a metal body in 1/24 scale by a company called JEB LTD....Went together quite well but some oddities with the engine...

Interesting similarities with this Revell 67 SS 396 Camaro and the JEB LTD 69 SS 396 Camaro I just finished...
