I gotta say, I'm extremely impressed by the way Dixon evolved recently. They used to be the meme company of cheap hardware, now they make some of the coolest looking and sounding kits on the market, all the while keeping an incredible price-to-quality ratio and focusing on pushing younger artists like you at the front of their roster. I'm thinking my next kit might just be a Dixon!
I have one of the Cornerstone steel/titanium snares and there's no other snare I've liked more. Dixon used to be one of those 'house kit' brands to me. You know the ones I'm talking about. The clapped out pearl export in the back room of a bar held together by duct tape, hopes and dreams. Yeah, Dixon was in that category for me until I played this snare. Now I can't get enough of them. Also, that colour is out of this world.

I just haven't seen this or heard of it personally, and would like to check it out. I know that Marshall Music Woodmead used to have quite a bit of Dixon hardware, but I haven't really seen the drums there. Also, granted - I haven't been in any music store physically for quite a while, so I should really go check it out. I haven't seen anything from Dixon online recently at TOMS/ Bothners/ Marshall/ Music Experience, Rocksolid, Harry Green etc etc). My very first kit in the early 1990s was a Dixon "The Duke". It sucked and I hated it. It seems that they are making great products now (Tama and Pearl was also not great in the 60s/ 70s. Look at their stuff now). Have you maybe seen one of the Little Roomer kits at one of the shops?

And then Dixon was running an Instagram competition recently where they gave a way a kit to someone that posted a video of themselves playing a Dixon kit in any music store. I saw plenty of videos, but I'm not quite sure which stores they were in. Definitely check the Woodmead Marshall, though! I'm guessing the Toms nearby also has.

I am really sad because my dad and I have wanted to go to the NAMM show for years, but it always falls on midterm week (since it’s usually in January). But this year, it is scheduled for April, coincidentally the exact weekend of a percussion ensemble concert that I am performing in; once again, I cannot attend.

Nice, I just built mine. Tama starclassic maple, 3 piece with a Mapex Black Panther atomizer snare. Actually took me a long time to find a snare I really wanted. Naturally I got all the stuff with it, new throne, XSR cymbals, new hardware, and got a nice Gibraltar stealth pedal with it.
