I know that it would spread out the tv money but those added games would also obviously increase the revenue from broadcasting. Also this could make promoted clubs more likely to actually spend more in transfermakt and fight for their spot. Furth, Heidenheim and Darmstadt are good examples of clubs who arent anywhere near the level to actually compete in Bundesliga. Love your content and would be nice to hear your thoughts

If Ligue 1 does not get more than ~1800 points than Everdivise this season, the Everdivise will be the 5th best league for the 2025-2026 season. You can take a look at official UEFA country club coefficient ranking. So yes, now it seems that Everdivise will take the 5th spot (they have more points this season so far but it is because of the qualifiers, most French teams were automatically promoted to group stages or played only one opponent so they did not have the opportunity to get many points). It really depends how good will French teams do this season in European tournaments.
it's never been a Top 5 league in European trophies, only called so because of the size of its population. as for the other leagues Serie A at the moment has all the historical/legacy clubs present, except Sampdoria. Nostalgists of the 1990s may miss Venezia or Bari but they are not major clubs.

I would even recommend a second league derby over a regular Bundesliga match.. some atmospheres there are just insane, especially when it comes to derbys ! And what’s super important: Do not just visit the stadium for the game and leave.. in germany there’s a special culture and armosphere around the whole matchday. Visit some Pubs and stroll around the area of the stadium.. especially when it comes to derbys or something like big international matches there is just some special vibe in the air even days before the match, that’s something special about germany ! Important Edit: I wouldnt recomment Allianz Arena at all.. nice stadium for a comfortable and chilled stadium experience but way too “casual” if you know what i mean..

As a football enthousiast that loves German football, and who’s been to a few matches in 2nd Liga, including both Hamburg and St. Pauli, I have to say that although the atmosphere at HSV was just a bit superior, the St Pauli stadion Millentor takes the edge all together. Walking into the city center/Reepherbahn after the match is chiller than the hassle at the outskirt of the Volksparkstadion
St. Pauli are the dinosaurs of the second division, anywhere else would feel kinda weird. Instead I would put Freiburg, Rostock or maybe even Arminia Bielefeld in there.

The first club, which should definitely be considered, is Magdeburg. Big history. Only East German club which won in Europe. Had their struggles after the reunification but still had a great run at the German cup in 2001. And had a steady rise in the last decade without selling their pride. They played great last season as a promoted club in the second division. Had a solid start again this season with awesome games to watch against hertha and schalke. On top of that, awesome fans. The next club worth mentioning is Saarbrücken. Founding member of the Bundesliga. Also played international. Reached German cup semis 4 times. The last one I would like to mention is Rot Weiss Essen. The first German club which played in Europe. Had great nights in the German cup (a pyro show against Leverkusen in 1995, which was hyped to the stars in the broadcast including). I can understand that many don't like to have Augsburg, Freiburg, and Mainz in the first division. But they put in great effort in the last 2 or 3 decades. Also, especially Augsburg, but also Freiburg were/are great representatives for German football and the fan culture in Europe. If you like them or not, nobody can denie this.

The two others could be Freiburg and another eastern German club, based on tradition Rostock would be the right choice (I originally said Lok Leipzig, but my mind was changed). In General I think we need more eastern German Bundesliga clubs so maybe I'd also switch Hannover for Magdeburg

I would switch Hannover with Freiburg. For me Hannover had to many scandals and too less reputation. Freiburg is just incredible in terms of Love. They love nature. They love Christian Streich (their Coach since 12years i think). And the fans are also 1st tier.

I would switch Hannover with Freiburg. For me Hannover had to many scandals and too less reputation. Freiburg is just incredible in terms of Love. They love nature. They love Christian Streich (their Coach since 12years i think). And the fans are also 1st tier.
