I can not wait until you post the video of how to make the frame card!! I love that the card recipient can remove the artwork and display it separately. It is truly a work of art and it should have a beautiful frame for it!
I’ve been really impressed with your reviews of the betterpress and this cardstock. You use it in many ways, but particularly the way you like to craft the most, so you can speak to the versatility and longevity of a product. I really appreciate you going into the details about how this cardstock differs from your usual watercolor papers and not just tier ranking with no context, because that lets me weigh the pros and cons for how I like to craft. You’re very informative and authentic, which is my ideal kind of review! Thanks for taking the time to put these videos together.
I am a complete novice at watercolor, though I have attempted it with very messy results! For the first time I managed to get the right ratio of water watching this video. And for the first time the process felt meditative rather than frustrating! By the way, you have a nice soothing voice that helps with the anxiety of trying something new!
Oh to have talent like yours! So fun watching these flowers come to life...and so beautifully.... Also, thanks for breaking down the paper costs...I usually do that and it can be very enlightening! It truly pays to shop around and factor in shipping costs as well.
such a beautiful painting. I need lots of practice before I get there. thanks for all the experimentation. helps to know where to spend my money. thanks as always for sharing and all the inspiration.
Stunningly beautiful! I love that you have us so much real time painting this card 👍😊 The stamp is also gorgeous and a definite "want". I am really looking forward to the video where you show how to make the framed envelope card 💞👏
Oh my gosh Dawn I get mesmerized watching you paint! You are also the best teacher!! This is absolutely gorgeous! Love love love. You are such a kind soul. Thank you for all you do. GOD BLESS YOU❤️❤️
So, so stunning!!! I love watching you work, Dawn! It’s just icing on the cake that I always learn something new. 😍 Genius idea with the card frame and removable panel; I can’t wait to watch the process for that too!
Stunning colour work and the paper held up beautifully to the task! Thanks for sharing your amazing knowledge and skills. I always leave inspired! xoxo
This is one of the most beautiful cards I’ve ever seen! Watching you, watercolor, was amazing, but something I could never accomplish! I know my limitations. I do love the way you inserted the card into the card. I’ll look forward to watching that video. I appreciate you explaining the differences in the papers and what they can and cannot be used for. I’m a crafter not an artist so sometimes I’m really not sure what I need. You have explained very well! Thank you very much.
I am so glad that I found this video! I had already seen your first BetterPress video & proceeded to do some experimentation of my own. I had found this paper to behave more like the higher end hot press papers, rather than my beloved Arches coldpress extra white. But I haven't watercolored in 6 months, so I had used reinkers and Karin brushmarkers for more control. Now I want to try this paper with pan watercolors, since I think they behave differently than the pens. Your break down is so helpful! I am so glad that you found this paper to work as well as Arches, because, as you said, the impression was better on this paper....though the impression on the Arches is almost comparable, if you layer a piece of paper towel between your paper and the platen when you run the plate through (a studiokato tip), plus, I do like the extra inch on the Arches pads to give me space to tape the panel down. Oh no, now I'm torn again! 🤣 Your watercoloring is so inspiring!
This is gorgeous. Love how you added the details for the leaves. Can’t wait to try that. Now I need to find the first video and the 2 brush video. Thank you!
Enquiring minds want to know! I was wondering how the SB BP paper compared to better watercolor paper and you really answered my question! Not only did you cover it completely you blew me away with your new stamp and how you colored it! I used to grow dahlias and you really captured their beauty and then coloring! Just stunning! I am thinking you know your way around a Dahlia too!
Wow! Stunning! And that “frame card” is perfect for such a work of art. Thank you for another great video, including your thoughts on the Better Press paper.
Absolutely gorgeous!❤!❤!❤. I live Nandinas. I use the berries to decorate with in the winter. I love this Blush one. May have to purchase some. Tyfs. New subscriber. So glad you came up in my feed.
can sit and watch you paint all day. beautiful stamp set and love how the leaves have different color variations. thanks for the info on the paper. i was wondering how it would stand up and compare to high end watercolor paper.
I need to learn how to make that frame card! What an amazing idea. Especially because that way the sentiment isn't on the card permanently. It can hurt to stamp "happy birthday!" right onto a painting that I spent hours on tbh 😂
Stunning! Every time I try watercolouring I get watermark type lines where it dries. I love watercolours but haven’t had great results. I’d love to know what I’m doing wrong! I don’t have the cheapest paper but it is not expensive cotton paper either so no I don’t know if this is my “error” or a better paper might help? I didn’t know about sizing so maybe I’ll spend my craft voucher on a small quality paper pad 😉
Thank you for such a beautiful Watercolor tutorial! I am not an experience water colorist, but wish I was! I don't know if its the low humidity (7% at times in Arizona) makes it more difficult or what? The paper seems to dry and the paint does not flow, like it does when I watch videos. I got the BetterPress a couple weeks ago and have been experimenting with Spellbinders paper using Copics, Polychromos and watercolor. I found on this paper my Karin Brush Pros do not flow like it does on Arches.I do have Daniel Smith watercolors too, but like I mention, it's a media I struggle with. Any tips would be helpful! Again, thanks for sharing your talents!
Beautiful card and coloring, received stamp today…so excited! Is there a way to access the Facebook live to see the other dahlia colored? If so, where and how? Thank you!
Absolutely stunning Dawn! I love the card idea as well. Thanks so much for the watercolor paper comparison. Comparing it to Arches definitely helps justify the price, especially if it can be used for both. Question: You mentioned that it is softer than Arches. Does it tear easily when taped down? Is it as super soft as the Stonehenge black watercolor paper which seems to almost disintegrate?
Beautiful card! Thanks for the analysis of the Betterpress paper. I am a beginner so not sure I can justify "practicing" watercoloring on such expensive paper. What does the term sizing mean as it relates to the paper. Thanks.
Annnnd, since, believe it or not, everybody, I'm JUST getting to know you, I now find out you're an exquisite colorist as well! Love your channel. Your articulation, technique, aesthetic, + teaching style are fabulous. Thanks much ❤ Btw, the "notable exception", from my doldrums' pov, was Ms. Latevola.

Utterly, utterly beautiful. I am gobsmacked. I wish there was something better than a ‘like’ button. I need this stamp.
This Darling Dahlias on Better Press Cotton is criminally gorgeous !!!

Best comment ever! Seriously, this made my day. It’s such an amazing feeling when it clicks, isn’t it? Way to go!
I love the frame envelope idea. So clever for the recipient bc it makes the card a gift. Your skill with painting is awesome.
