Congratulations from Switzerland to Katie-Anne Powell ! It IS one of the best awards she could win. It shows the beauty on the outside reflects the beauty of her soul. I can imagine how hectic and crazy those pageants can get. Normally i dont reveal this about myself but in the early mid 90s to very early 2000s i used to be a male fashion model (Versace, Armani, Hugo boss... ) and those were extremely fun but also very hectic. That includes also the parties after the fashion shows. I do believe that we need to change some things in the teaching curriculum because music and being able to play instruments helps people out so much ( did volunteer work surrounding this) but teachers need to make it fun. I had music teachers that were dry but then there were the best music teachers out there that let you sample all kinds of genres like classic, boogie woogie, swing, jive and even the occasional movie theme music. The last one usually on orchestra setting which then flowed in the big band ( benny goodman, glen miller, duke ellington, artie shaw).
Congrats to your niece. My mentee was Miss New York 2022 and 1st Runner up to Miss America 2023. Not winning is often the best thing that happens to a young woman. Getting to compete at Miss America is statistically more rare than playing in a Super Bowl. Super impressive young women!
