The most interesting thing about this music video, is that despite it saying that it's for 16+, I think it's perfect for younger people who haven't discovered the concept of death. In my eyes, kids should be aware of what death is, at most, by the age of 9 so that it dosen't suprise them as much when someone they care about kicks the bucket, something that will already be stressful. If you try to explain what death is to a kid, that might not listen, remember, or pay full attention to what your saying. With an animated music video with constantly changing art styles and decently entertaining music, however, they might pay more attention. How it explains death is also simple enough for a child to understand. Plus, as an added bonus, they might learn the word eulogy, a word that a lot of younger folks don't know.
that one grave at the start of the video that says “not sure if this one’s dead yet” has a bell next to it which is my favorite little detail in this whole goddamn video
Honestly, my interpretation of the song is about being a slap in the face like “hey guess what, you’ll die one day and you won’t make an impact on the universe” Which is kinda like, ouch, douche move. But in a way, it’s a good thing. Because when people grow up they fear that they won’t have a purpose in life nor would they make an impact on anything or anyone. A lot of people believe they should do something successful, something big, or being wrote down in history so they can be remembered. But that’s super stressful on a person if they don’t achieve this. But in reality, our actions won’t make an impact on anything nor will it change the universe in any given way. The only reason we can be remembered or make an impact is because humans choose to. Life doesn’t decide if we are remembered or make an impact, humans decide if that matters to them, no one else, not animals, nature, or the universe. So why does it matter if our lives didn’t do anything spectacular or big? What matters the most is that we enjoyed it doing what we want. What matters is that we experienced life. Even if our impacts don’t do anything to the universe that just gives us the freedom of doing what we want because we don’t have to care about if we made an impact, because that’s literally impossible to do because the universe can’t and won’t change. If you wanna become a librarian, do it. Be a voice actor? Go ahead. Wanna be someone who wants to try and make an impact on the universe? Try it. What matters most is that you enjoyed doing what you wanted. That you enjoyed your life rather than focusing on making an impact. Also the animation was superb and I. Really enjoyed the many styles within the song. Thanks for listening to my ramble.
I look at this as, maybe you didn't make an impact felt around the world, but you made an impact on those around you. You will always be remembered by someone, even if it is only your pets or family.

Honestly this has to be my favorite Will Wood song. It helped me a lot with my stress, now each time I am super stressed about something like an exam, I just whisper to myself "memento mori" and start studying calmly.
Somehow this song comforts me, the calm instrumental, will woods voice being calm yet serious, and this animation helps calm you down from pretty scary existential dread, somehow TWISTED-DOCTOR, you made an animation to comfort me even in these trying times Thank you.
Im so excited I got to be part of this project!! It came out AMAZING and its so awesome seeing the full project. Everyone did an awesome job and if you need me I will be watching this for the next 5 and a half hours
Honestly one of the most comforting songs to me, no matter job, how rich or privileged, we'll all be in the dirt some day. Its a comforting way to think it doesnt matter if you make mistakes. Thank you will wood for this banger to keep everyone grounded : )
When there was a tornado in my area and I thought I was gonna die, while I was calling my friends I played this song. The tornado never came to where I was and I survived and this song really calmed my nerves about the entire thing.
A few years ago I couldnt finish the video because thoughts like those made me unable to sleep in peace, but now I found new meaning in death. Because you will die and theres nothing after, it means that just the fact you are alive rn is a one in infinity miracle wonder. If there was proof that after comes heaven, reincarnation, heck, then your entire life is just a tiny fleck of dust in the scheme of forever, which I feel robs it of its meaning. Death gives meaning to life, without it there wouldnt be any insentive to wake up and do stuff. You are one in forever, with the ability to try everything you like before youre gone.
my cat just passed away and I know that this song doesn’t really talk about pets but it kind of comforts me to know that there’s a chance he’s up there running around in a field and chasing mice , happy and healthy
I have OCD, pure O, and my obsession generally revolves around death, and the fact one day im going to die. it makes me question things that i do as hobbies and some days i can't do anything because nothing feels "productive" enough. Surprisingly, this song really helps me because it flips my mentally completely around into a positive. Thanks Will Wood for the song! And this animation is absolutely stellar!
I don’t know if it’s the upbeat, cooky tone or what, but this song makes the inevitable much more palatable. This song (and animation) really kills the existential dread!

“Bro Will Wood can’t make a song that’s comforting, a banger, a reality check, AND make it silly all at the same time.”
Will Wood:
The credits seem just like the credits in a real musical or movie ngl
LOVED BEING APART OF THISSS AAAAA 💖 EVERYONE'S PART TURNED OUT JUST BEAUTIFULLY AND WAS AMAZING TO WORK TOGETHER!!! 💖💖💖💖
I love the fact that this is on my “children’s music playlist” that UA-cam made for me
0:10 Dr.sunshine really is dead
Tomb is at 0:12
"take it away hand" next scene his hands are missing while he dances lol, love this animation fr fr
WHEN I SAW WILL WOOD ON THE TITTLE I INSTANTLY CLICKED JSNSJSJSJ
hold up, "directed by Will Wood" woaaaaah-
also, everyone did a amazing job, this looks fanfastic!
Same ahah
Honestly this has to be my favorite Will Wood song. It helped me a lot with my stress, now each time I am super stressed about something like an exam, I just whisper to myself "memento mori" and start studying calmly.
i love how the entire latter half of the video is just the credits, it's nice to see some appreciation for the artists!
Somehow this song comforts me, the calm instrumental, will woods voice being calm yet serious, and this animation helps calm you down from pretty scary existential dread, somehow TWISTED-DOCTOR, you made an animation to comfort me even in these trying times
Thank you.
this isnt a huge thing, but id like to say thank you for this song. its helped me overcome my (not uncommon) fear of death.
“Memento Mori” _Just finished an exam about that topic..._
What grade did ya get...
1:24 The fact that the skeletons on the right and on the left has a rope on their neck is such a good detail.
WORKING ON THIS WAS SUCH A BLESSING!!
I loved your part :3

Im so excited I got to be part of this project!! It came out AMAZING and its so awesome seeing the full project. Everyone did an awesome job and if you need me I will be watching this for the next 5 and a half hours
i like how you can tell which artist had an undertale phase
great video
Honestly one of the most comforting songs to me, no matter job, how rich or privileged, we'll all be in the dirt some day. Its a comforting way to think it doesnt matter if you make mistakes.
Thank you will wood for this banger to keep everyone grounded : )
When there was a tornado in my area and I thought I was gonna die, while I was calling my friends I played this song. The tornado never came to where I was and I survived and this song really calmed my nerves about the entire thing.
This is definently going in my "Im not going to reccomend this song to anybody unless its a very specific circumstance" playlist
This is that feeling, when you don't realise that this is a MAP/multi-collab until 0:55 .
my cat just passed away and I know that this song doesn’t really talk about pets but it kind of comforts me to know that there’s a chance he’s up there running around in a field and chasing mice , happy and healthy
The colors in this part is just so nice in the video 1:49
This song is what got me into will wood and Ive been hooked every since
everyone here missed an opportunity to do a spooky month dance reference lol-
jokes aside, i absolutely love this, keep up the fantastic work folks
I love so much how this song make me feel happy with a tragic existencialist theme.
I love all the little details, the one where he kicks the bucket off the stairs in particular had me sent.
I don’t know if it’s the upbeat, cooky tone or what, but this song makes the inevitable much more palatable. This song (and animation) really kills the existential dread!
THIS WAS SO FUN TO WORK ON IM SO HAPPY WITH HOW EVERYTHING TURNS OUT 😭😭😭❤️❤️ epic gamer moment thank you skrill and mister wood for letting this happen
HELLO MEWTLEY I ABSOLUTELY LOVED YOUR PARTS IN THIS
Everyone did such an amazing job in this, the song and the animation is absolutely gorgeous, great job to everyone who worked hard on this 👌
THIS TURNED OUT SO AMAZING I’m so happy I got to work on this with so many talented animators!!! ^^
Who knew that this one song would help me realize that I don't have to take my own life to be happy ty Will Wood :]
I refuse to believe that there was more than more than one person working on this. It's so consistent.
