great videos-gives you such a great insight into music creation-and ski does all this in a masterful way
Ski for president!
They make it look so easy...
***** it is
Awesome content. Video pans had me a litre dizzy but love it all the same!!
you are crazy ! loved it.
holy shit this guy is nuts, playing like its nothing lol
So inspiring, thank you for this series :-)
Hi Ski, deconstruction of Maceo Plex - Solitary Daze
Great video, very inspiring stuff.
Like a boss!!
At 10:00 where he plays in the pad chords . The chord names do not match with the notes he's shown playing on the virtual piano . For example Bb major 7 he is not hitting the Bb flat key .
you should do a DnB class.... (tantrum desire, sigma, etc...)
Wish there was a channel like this for real music i.e. with instruments
i fukin love watching him making a tune he loves it... in the zoneski ;) luvit..
Nice! I wish I could produce as good as you are!
muito bom
Am i mistaken or is Ski's Bass tuned down a 4th because whenever for example he plays a D on the bass it sounds like A to me.
top stream this they must do more
Great video series. Very inspirational. What is the Akai controller in between the Push and the Apc 40?
Just wanted to point out that at 10:25 the chart says VI (which is a BbMaj7) but it should be i (Dm7). There is no C in a BbMaj7, or am I missing something, because I just got through with 16 hours of work. Nice video(s), keep it up Point Blank!
+Dowe D You don't get the whole picture at that time - when he adds the Bb bass note, it becomes a BbMaj7. C is just some extra flavour, but if you want to be picky it's a BbMaj9 when the C is added.
@@balluse thanks man :D
@@artixmusic9917 No worries! Literally have no memory of making this comment. I'm getting old.
@@balluse I was searching for music theory videos and found this one. Nice tutorial but I was confused about this BbMaj7 chord and start looking for explanation in comments. Your explanation was the best. Now I can sleep peacefully :D
Hello, is there a chance I can get copies of the students full songs for this episode? Especially, Ryan Signett. I'll probably never get to hear them, otherwise. Is there a way to still access them? They are fantastic. Thank you.
Do I have an ear for music when I can guess the next notes/chords without knowing the track?
Not exactly.
No.
You can but it would be completely by chance.
it means you have Perfect Pitch m8 only 1 in 100,000,000 adults have this
No
What is being used for the drums at 15.33 ?
I d like to composition a music can you help me please !
What is the original song called?
What's the machine next to the midi keyboard please?
The one that says Native Instruments is a midi pad controller and drum sequencer from that company, it's called Maschine. The one that says Ableton Push is a pad controller from Ableton made to integrate with their software Live. The small white/light grey thing with the wires plugged into it is probably a headphone amp but I'm not sure.
how is the chord at 6:20 a 7th chord? Its just an inverted d minor triad
Yeah it is an inverted d minor triad but it's also a rootless Bflat major 7 cause Bflat major is the relative major of D minor
are you sure it's not a rootless Bm7b5?
I'm pretty sure he meant Bb major 7 because that was part of the chord progression he was using but i'm not sure
Actually Bflat major is not the relative major of D minor I was wrong that would be F major but it is still a Bflat major 7th without the root
He's not referring to that Dm Chord, but to the last Chord of the progression - here: 5:39
how do you find the key of a song so i know what scale to use
+JusGolden Official follow the bass! root note is the answer.
thank u
+JusGolden Official It's much more complicated than just knowing the root note. Please search the internet for a better answer as it would take awhile to explain it here and it is explained elsewhere much better than I could in a youtube comment. Good luck!
+Galactu5 Well yes but the majority of this kind of music is written in Aeolian but yes. Study some modal theory and basic music theory and then find the root note ;)
+mollyoko Good point about this kind of [formulaic] music. Just stick to the white keys. ;)
anyone know what in ear monitors they use for these vids?
It's KRK RP5 - G2.
+Dominik Kleina ah I meant their earphones but thanks!
Sigh.. so boring .... really flat and digital

Just like you .... next....
