Well said, thanks for sharing Dev. If you only knew how encouraging you are to many (including me). You're helping to keep me from abandoning a musical project I'm in the middle of. The demands of everyday life and heavy events can make you want to give up at times. Your words today means a lot!

When you mentioned about the responsibilities we signed up for, you struck a chord with my situation, as my parental responsibilities have eased, and life is supposed to be golden, it's anything but, so press on what you're doing, it is the right thing
I always thought I was a weirdo for being seemingly the 'lone person loving the deadline crunch'. Especially in my field (games), the mere idea is frowned upon (to put it lightly), but I'm honestly really happy to hear that I'm not alone in finding it an actual creativity boost.
In a way I was already waiting for you saying something about AI (and) art. You are absolutely right, in any piece of art which is made by a concious being, there are so many decisions in there , which all reflect the experiences and inner processes of the artist in the context of his complete life. Using AI for art might be efficient, and while it´s fun to experiment with it, with the way how this machine will interpret your words (especially when typing in crazy nonsense), using it for brainstorming as an additional reflection-screen, why not, but it will never replace the process of an artist and the decisions you make, especially the parts of creative processes which go beyond words, which come from a pre-linguistic part of the bodymind or maybe even from a deeper level.
I always have that CD on in my car. It’s going on months lol it just has that heavy melodic lush sound that I love it hits all the bells and whistles for me. And my grandson loves it too. He spent the night with me last night, and I had him listening to deadhead with some good headphones.😂
Yea, I do similar stuff. I'm fine w living in my own mess (I'm not all that messy of a person in actuality) but if I have company coming over, all of a sudden my place is a wreck in my mind and I have to clean like a madman.

@@offroaders123 for me the hardest part is the task initiation - it's not that I don't necessarily know I have to do something, I might even think about it all the time and feel guilty - but I physically can't get myself up & do the thing. And mentally some things just seem so overwhelming I don't know where to start. Sometimes if I just get up and start doing something I somehow get a lot of things done by accident. Sense of urgency helps tremendously too 😆 It's kind of normal for ADHD people to become very productive, calm and logical in stressful situations when everyone else would lose their minds in panic. It's not that I'm lazy or procrastinating, it's a problem with the ability, or lack, of directing my attentiveness by choice.
This will sound parental and condescending, but I don’t mean it that way at all: I’m so proud of you. I’m proud of all you’ve accomplished both musically and personally. So many gifted and talented people find a point in their lives where they really shut-down and wither; you are running through walls in a deliberate and confident way. It’s more rewarding and inspiring now more than I was ever inspired during the quad-record era (post-SYL). Keep being you, and keep letting the good people around you be them. You’re all making great music, memories and contributions that we always gain-from. Cheers.
You've put in the blood, sweat, tears for decades in order to reach a place where you do things and live your life on YOUR terms. You are succeeding in making this life, yours. An example for a lot of the rest of us.
Glad i'm not the only one who forgot what day it was. You discussing the need to be direct with the PowerNerd project really struck a chord with me. I have found certain aspects of writing, typically lyrics, incredibly difficult in the last almost-decade because I feel like i'd be misunderstood, upsetting, or cliche by making the statements I feel the need to make in the way i feel the need to make them. There have been a few exceptions, but even then, they're flashes of truth and honesty I then feel the need to expand with what would sound "correct" rather than what needs said.
