70s glam rock, t rex had load singles with quirky lyrics, hot love, get it on, metal guru, easyaction, many more . Sweet, slade, mud, other bands at time Teenage audience screaming at gigs 😱🎶
Glam rock, in this case a blues boogie. As a teenager, I got a request played on Radio 1 (UK national radio), pairing up Hot Love by T-Rex, with Missionary Man by the Eurythmics. Proud moment.
He is the jeep going after the jaguar (car) as he said in the song.. you can figure out the rest.. Marc Bolan was huge in Britain(Glam Rock) during this time & died tragically in a car crash a few years later with his gf, singer Gloria Jones(an american, black singer living in GB with him, who did the original version of Tainted Love in the 60s) driving the car & their young son in the car too; both survived. Thanks for a fine reaction & the dance after lol
Ummm... Marc Bolen (T.Rex) had a car fetish. Many of his songs had car references, he was obsessed with autos. LOL, your face when he mentioned vampire! Love T.Rex, one of my favorites. Check out the song, The Slider, it's amazing!
Glam Polka Rocks!!! 😃 According to an article in Motor Trends magazine, the Jeep took its name from a magical cat/dog character in the Popeye the Sailor comic strip which turned the word "jeep" into an adjective describing something extraordinary. But it took a publicity stunt in 1941 to make the name stick.
You should listen to his first hit called ( Ride a White Swan ) from 1970

Probably my favorite T.Rex track
A little bit of country twang pulled into a sensuous glam rock treatment... I totally dig this T.Rex cut.

Cool double-hitter.
If you're 13 years old in 1971 and this isn't your favourite song, something's wrong witcha.
Hi Brad! You don’t do classic rock from the 70s much anymore but when you do you pick a good one… Love ya!
He's using the Jeep to Jaguar comparison as a metaphor for a blue collar/average guy pursuing the hot/rich girl. And the Jeep will go anywhere!
my first ever single payed for buy my first wage packet
