In this video I go over my interview experience when I applied to study biological Natural Sciences at Jesus College, Cambridge, in autumn 2017.
🙋♂️ About me:
I'm a student at the University of Cambridge studying Natural Sciences, and I make videos that can help you with studying and applying to universities such as Oxbridge.
👨🏫 I also offer tutoring for subjects including biology, chemistry, and maths (contact via website).

cuteeee! so nice hearing about your good experiences but also scary for me at the same time considering you did all these cool and fancy things.
this was really helpful thanks! subbed to the channel
Thank you for your support!
wait other places also do that class photograph! we did that in my school every year, somehow I never stopped to thing it was done elsewhere as well.
Thanks for making such a wonderful video. But I just wanna ask from you that I am in 12th standard now and pursuing studies in science so when I can apply for get into this university? I am also interested in biology.
first like from me
Really helpful, and friendly, thanks Ilya. Do you have any comments about college choice and experience given you've been there for three years now? Any recommendations or things to consider before applying?
Thank you! I've made some videos about college choice which you can check out on my channel, but here's a few key points. In general you'll have a great time regardless of what college you're at but the experience will vary. Take into consideration specific admissions requirements of the college you want to apply to in case they don't favour you. I'd recommend applying to one of the older and wealthier colleges because there's quite a few perks but that's my personal opinion. Having a relatively central college is nice too, though very central colleges often have far out accommodation in some years. Hope that helps and let me know if you need more help!
Hi! Your video was really helpful! Do you think I should spend more time revising, or should I go through other contents like what I wrote on personal statement? I heard that people are not asked that much about their personal statement and that interviews are mostly about science questions...
Do both, going through person statement isn't long anyway
Thanks. Last part tho😂
The last part did scare me a little bit lol. This video is so useful!! I got a question!! Could people apply for 2 courses at the same time for Cambridge application? I want to study either psychology or biological natural science but I still can't make up my mind 😂
Glad you like it! Unfortunately you can't apply to two courses at Oxbridge at the same time, and even if you could it's a bad idea because it's hard to tailor your application to two courses. If you can't choose between psychology and biological sciences, I'd say go for psychology because the Cambridge PBS course let's you take a lot of biology modules.
@@IlyasCambridgeAdvice Thank you so muchhhhhhhhhh! Really useful advice!!!!!!!!! 😄
from your interview responses, it sounded like you tied in lots of different things you had read or seen in your answers, did you a lot of extra reading outside of a-levels? if so pls recommend some for biology :)
do you know why they asked, if you "have brought something for them"
if the embryo is not a human being or a person that causes external biological causes it to become one?
If such functions as reason, consciousness or brain activity make us a person, there should be an external cause foreign to the embryo that disturbs such qualities that make it a person, but there is no data whatsoever that shows that reason or consciousness or Coherent brain activity is externally distressed, but on the contrary, it is its own in a process that controls the embryo itself, so the question would be ... Can a thing that is not a person turn itself into a person? Does the fetus digivolve?
I'm not sure what you're asking to be honest
Thank goodness no need for philosophy then, but I think I depends on the phenotype and the capabilities of that non person to turn himself into a person
yes i agree
