Does the position of the crank shaft matter in terms of which cylinder is in TDC on the compression stroke while putting the timing chain on, because I think mine may be 180 degrees off, when I crank the car it just pops and doesn’t start popping through the exhaust. Also is it supposed to get rotated backwards when you go to the left bank because everywhere else online they say to rotate it clockwise twice before putting the other chain on
Friend, good afternoon, I hope you can help me build a boxer engine for a subaru wrx 2015, but I get familiarity from the copilot xf side. If you can support me, what was the problem?
Hello Heriberto. This engine was pulled out of a 2013 FRS for the Valve Springs Replacement Recall. This timing procedure is according to Toyota/Scion Repair Manual.
very nice , simple & clear not like others talk too much.
Great video! It's clear and simple!
Very clear - excellent! Thank You.
So you time the left bank and that's it?

Can a wrong timing belt setup work well but creates knocking problems on cylinder 1 after warmup ?
This timing chain guide same as FB16 FB20 engines ?
Honestly, I don't know. I don't usually work on Subaru engines, unless it is a cross production inside Toyota vehicles.
